Oh, where were those words of wisdom when I needed them most? That was before I downloaded 14 new ebooks to my Kindle, and downloaded 4 from the library to my Nook! BBAA Member - Off the wagon!
Oh man oh man oh man, you all...I just bought a 14 book lot of books on eBay. Yikes! I really wanted one of the books, and it would have only saved me $2 to get it alone rather than spending the extra $2 to get it bundled together with 13 other books. Um...am I overly justifying stuff here?? *hides*I really wanted Summer Campaign by Carla Kelly and ended up getting A Victorian Christmas: Five Stories, Keeper of the Heart, Francesca, and a number of others along with it.

I'm so jealous! I wish I could read faster! There are just too, too many books out there! I'm trying, but I'll never read all the ones I want to!!!
and that is such a depressing thought. That there will not be enough time to read all the books you want to in your lifetime. And then..think of the great ones that are yet to come after we're all gone!

Lol... Nah, I've been trying to be good before moving to NY.. And have been travelling non-stop since July, so barely any time to read this summer!!But I have been a little sneaky, lol: just got here Monday with my mom (finishing up my aprt), so I had to sneak over to my place while she was sleeping at the hotel, and stashed them in the back of my closet before she could see them, lol:-D She leaves Friday, so I'll be having a look at another Borders going out of business (btw, that's so sad!! Anyone know why they're all closing?)..

Good gosh! Has everyone been that good???? I was (more or less) this summer, but then I fell off the wagon BIG-TIME!! I got great deals on Borders & BWB, but am a little ashamed about posting, lol:-D From now on though, that's it!
Actually, reading your comments, I wonder if I binged on the book-buying because I was feeling homesick and my new shelves were bare... I'm not even reading that much yet these days, it's more comforting than useful so far:-) I sit on my couch and stare with satisfaction at my books... seriously.. I think I'm a little whacked out:-D

I just horded on 5 books (I really didn't need lol) during their bargain bin sale. ARgh! I'm waiting for the bill already. If I knew they were doing a 50% sale like the following week I would have waited.

Did the Borders shopping also. I went to the Waldenbooks store closing in a mall...bought some books there.Went to the same Borders Express store twice. First time the savings wasn't so bad. Then the second time...well, got those $15 books to about $5.
Of course, there are also a few in my library bookstores.

By the time I went there, there were still a LOT of romance books. Alas, my priorities were focused on the books that caught MY attention, so I ignored the majority of the romance offerings.
Sorry gals, but the Borders/Waldenbooks stores that had the sales are already CLOSED, so I can't go back there for any more "hauls".
Sad, isn't it.
Well, I got 22 books at Betterworld today...it really is a better world! If you're looking to stock your LK library there are a LOT of hers. At $1.99 a pop, you can't beat it!
Lol.. I totally missed that sale!:-D Not a bad thing though, considering the books I bought in the last month! I also went a little crazy on ebay, lol.. Susan Wiggs, Nora Roberts, Lynsay Sands,... you get the idea:-DE. - Great books!!

I gotta say maybe it's just me and I'm technically challenged when it comes to that site but I'm starting to wish BetterWorld was way more user friendly. I can not tell you how many times I had to re-fill my cart w/ books that the site won't save. I wasted so much time picking out books from the bargain bin only for it to lose the selections I made (I guess it runs on timed intervals). I was trying to take advantage of the 50% off sale during my break at work only to come home and find out it didn't save anything, I try again only find out my time or whatever ran out. I know other sites like Amazon saves your selections so you can go back to it from different locations as long as you are logged in. On BetterWorld the Login feature doesn't even work. WTH?
Has anyone else ran into this problem? Total pain in the butt and so inconvenient.

I believe you have to save them to your WishList, not just have them in your cart.
I went to my library bookstore and only bought this
but w/o the cover. So it ended up being a quarter for me to buy it.What a shame for people to treat their books that way. But it sure was a saving for me, even w/o the book cover.

I had bought some more books since I last posted in this thread. Some from my library used bookstore. Some from a used bookstore that if I "traded" books, I can buy used books for the lower price (the lower price if one donates books; the higher price for regular store price). A couple of book prizes that I've won. And the rest from stores like Target and more.Here are some of my haul:
there is a used clothing store near where i work and they also have used books for 99 cents and with two month i bought all these books. I'am a book hoard i love to by books. I have a book shelf against the wall in my basement and most of the books on it are mine

Anyway, I've been going every Thu. to my library bookstore because I've become "familiar" to the Thu. staff & I tend to get (most of the time) something from the bookstore.
The "red-dot sale" is still ongoing, and the usual price of $2 per plastic bag & $5 per paper bag (i.e. fill up as much books as you can into a grocery plastic bag & paper bag) has been halved (i.e. $1 per plastic bag, etc.) for this week (I think only this week, but it could be next week also)! I couldn't help but get a plastic bag (though I really don't need to, since for the most part the books that I want are really a few, but I just felt like spending that $1). It seems that there were a lot of donations being brought to the bookstore so they needed to get rid of them.
Some books that I got from the $1 plastic bag as well as in previous purchases from the bookstore are:
(Now I'm basing this on memory, so some of the Quick/Roberts books may not had been bought...those Quick covers are sorta misleading to my eyes...)

Sad thing is, the books will be stacked in a corner of my bedroom w/o being read due to life's intrusions for this month. Ah, I can't wait for next month. I have so MANY books to read.
