E. (dilawrosas) | 507 comments I'm back (for now)! Life's intrusions kept me from visiting GR, and when I do get online, I tend to just check my e-mails and browse some good stuff. However, if I log into GR, I know that I would spend countless time (in which time is better spent on life's intrusions) here.

Anyway, I've been going every Thu. to my library bookstore because I've become "familiar" to the Thu. staff & I tend to get (most of the time) something from the bookstore.

The "red-dot sale" is still ongoing, and the usual price of $2 per plastic bag & $5 per paper bag (i.e. fill up as much books as you can into a grocery plastic bag & paper bag) has been halved (i.e. $1 per plastic bag, etc.) for this week (I think only this week, but it could be next week also)! I couldn't help but get a plastic bag (though I really don't need to, since for the most part the books that I want are really a few, but I just felt like spending that $1). It seems that there were a lot of donations being brought to the bookstore so they needed to get rid of them.

Some books that I got from the $1 plastic bag as well as in previous purchases from the bookstore are:

The More I See You (De Piaget, #7) by Lynn Kurland Stardust of Yesterday (Haunting Hearts Series) by Lynn Kurland Escapade by Susan Kyle Jemima J A Novel About Ugly Ducklings and Swans by Jane Green Lord of Raven's Peak (Viking, #3) by Catherine Coulter Lois Lane Tells All (Talk of the Town, #2) by Karen Hawkins How to Marry a Marquis (Ex-spies, #2) by Julia Quinn Rules of Engagement (Governess Brides, #2) by Christina Dodd The MacGregors Alan & Grant (MacGregors #3 & 4) by Nora Roberts The MacGregor Brides (MacGregors #8) by Nora Roberts The MacGregors Daniel & Ian (MacGregors #5 & 6) by Nora Roberts Rebellion (MacGregors #6) by Nora Roberts The MacGregors Robert & Cybil (MacGregors #8 & 10) by Nora Roberts The Secret (Highlands' Lairds, #1) by Julie Garwood The Prize by Julie Garwood Castles (Crown's Spies, #4) by Julie Garwood Beware of Doug (Guys & Dogs, #2) (Avon Romance) by Elaine Fox Ravished by Amanda Quick Dangerous by Amanda Quick Scandal by Amanda Quick Reckless by Amanda Quick Rendezvous by Amanda Quick

(Now I'm basing this on memory, so some of the Quick/Roberts books may not had been bought...those Quick covers are sorta misleading to my eyes...)

These are some of the books that I had bought (not in the library bookstore):

Just Like Heaven (Smythe-Smith Quartet, #1) by Julia Quinn Face of Danger (The Guardian Angelinos, #3) by Roxanne St. Claire Cloudy With A Chance Of Marriage (Impossible Bachelors, #3) by Kieran Kramer If He's Dangerous (Wherlocke #4) by Hannah Howell and more.

Sad thing is, the books will be stacked in a corner of my bedroom w/o being read due to life's intrusions for this month. Ah, I can't wait for next month. I have so MANY books to read.

Audrey (odderie) | 25 comments Oh man oh man oh man, you all...I just bought a 14 book lot of books on eBay. Yikes! I really wanted one of the books, and it would have only saved me $2 to get it alone rather than spending the extra $2 to get it bundled together with 13 other books. Um...am I overly justifying stuff here?? *hides*

I really wanted Summer Campaign by Carla Kelly and ended up getting A Victorian Christmas: Five Stories, Keeper of the Heart, Francesca, and a number of others along with it.

Online shopping is dangerous!

But I have been a little sneaky, lol: just got here Monday with my mom (finishing up my aprt), so I had to sneak over to my place while she was sleeping at the hotel, and stashed them in the back of my closet before she could see them, lol:-D She leaves Friday, so I'll be having a look at another Borders going out of business (btw, that's so sad!! LOL.

By the time I went there, there were still a LOT of romance books. Alas, my priorities were focused on the books that caught MY attention, so I ignored the majority of the romance offerings.

Sorry gals, but the Borders/Waldenbooks stores that had the sales are already CLOSED, so I can't go back there for any more "hauls".

Sad, isn't it.

♥ℳelody (melodiousimagination) | 314 comments I gotta say maybe it's just me and I'm technically challenged when it comes to that site but I'm starting to wish BetterWorld was way more user friendly.

I can not tell you how many times I had to re-fill my cart w/ books that the site won't save. I wasted so much time picking out books from the bargain bin only for it to lose the selections I made (I guess it runs on timed intervals). I was trying to take advantage of the 50% off sale during my break at work only to come home and find out it didn't save anything, I try again only find out my time or whatever ran out. I know other sites like Amazon saves your selections so you can go back to it from different locations as long as you are logged in. On BetterWorld the Login feature doesn't even work. WTH?

Has anyone else ran into this problem? Total pain in the butt and so inconvenient.

E. (dilawrosas) | 507 comments I had bought some more books since I last posted in this thread. Some from my library used bookstore. Some from a used bookstore that if I "traded" books, I can buy used books for the lower price (the lower price if one donates books; the higher price for regular store price). A couple of book prizes that I've won. And the rest from stores like Target and more.

Here are some of my haul:
