Ari (moochew12) | 159 comments Hey ~Sara!~ (I did it right this time lol.)
A. The Ghost of Reading Past:
Jane Eyre- You haven’t read this? Maybe it’s a mistake xD. Anyways, I loved this when I was younger; it’s a classic that I think everyone (at least females) should read.
I'm not sure of any books that people keep nagging me to read....I just finally read Outlander so that'll be what I put here.
B. The Ghost of Reading Present:
Q & A(Slumdog Millionaire) On first few pages of this. I want to read it and then watch the movie. It will make me feel quite the accomplished (for reasons unknown.)
The Book of Joe I bought this as a present to myself. (Not sure if I will like it. Got to read something different every now and then.)
C. The Ghost of Reading Future:
The Tipping Point A few months ago I read Blink. I bet this is good if you want to think.
Brave New World This is probably really relevant to out futures like 1984 was.
D. The Tiny Tim Factor:
Mansfield Park I adored this movie. This would be great to read during my movie rant period.
Vegan Brunch You reviewed for a cookbook by one of my favorite cookbook authors! This one does have lovely photos (so you won't be disappointed) and really great breakfast ideas.
Happy Holidays and Readings!

Ceej (drqangel) | 1015 comments Hey Rebecca,

I hope you have fun with this list because I did putting it together. I love perusing others list because I always find something interesting I might add to mine.

A. The Ghost of Reading Past -

1) For this I choose Lover Eternal. This series piqued my interest for paranormal/fantasy romances. This one especially because Rhage is my FAVORITE Brother. Most people like Zadist and I do to but more in a motherly way. I liked Rhage because I felt in his story what I’ve been trying to work out personally. That something that’s inside of me that I want to hide from the world because I think it’s a bad thing. I’ll stop waxing poetic now!
2) For this I choose The Shack. It’s not in your I apologize if you’re not a spiritual person but this was a great book once you get into it. It speaks to something I’ve always believed. A person should develop their own relationship with their own version of a Higher Power and not what masses say.

B. The Ghost of Reading Present -

1) For this I choose Cry Wolf. I enjoyed the book and I’m definitely going to read more of Briggs’ work. The only reason I gave it 3 stars is I had a need for explanation on somethings and she didn’t give it to me.

C. The Ghost of Reading Future -
For this I choose first, Lady Sophia's Lover. This one was my favorite of the Bow Street Runners trilogy and you don’t have to read them in order. Second choice is The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. It was a good book.

D. The Tiny Tim factor (totally optional but a worthwhile challenge)

1) Let’s go with Once Bitten, Twice Shy. I was supposed to read this in October’s challenge but changed my mind and went with something else.
2) Everyone deserves to read smut. It’s our privilege! So I recommend Colters' Woman.

Denise Becky, Wow! Great choices! I have all these books except Moon Called and Garden Spells. I actually read Garden Spells, but it was 2 years ago and in one of those readers digest condensed books. I did want to read the full version, so that is still a great pick for me. Now to decide if I can get them al read or which ones to choose! All winners!

Penney, thanks for all the great suggestions. I'm not sure which one I'm going to go with yet. I'm leaning towards Dragon Actually or Dreaming of You. I'll let you know when I decide.

BJ Rose (bjrose) | 4413 comments Dee,
I finally found my way out of your TBRs - well, I had to spend some time putting books on my wishlist! Most of these are on your TBR

Ghost of Christmas Past
A. The Runaway Duke was a 5* read for me. This is where I fell in love with Julie Anne Long
B. The Cross-Country Quilters was recommended to me by my daughter, but I have not read, although I did read and enjoy another Jennifer Chiaverini book.

Ghost of Christmas Present
A. I just finished reading Firewalker, but this is book 2 of a PNR series by Allyson James (first is Stormwalker), so I'll also recommend the book I'll be reading next, which is the first book in Sabrina Jeffries' latest series - The Truth About Lord Stoneville
B. I received The Thirteenth Tale from another daughter - a strong 4* read for me & it's on your TBR

Ghost of Christmas Future - from your TBR
A. The Last Hellion - I love this HR and have read it 3x already. I forgot to check to see if you've already read Lord of Scoundrels, which is the book that introduces Vere, but you can enjoy this book on its own.
B. I have not read The Twelve Lies of Christmas, but it seemed like it belonged in December

The Tiny Tim Factor
A. Neither one of us has read Christmas Eve at Friday Harbor & I'll be reading it this month
B. I can highly recommend Dance Upon the Air - this is book one of Nora Roberts' Three Sisters Island trilogy, and there's magic in it, which makes it appropriate for Christmas, right?!

Enjoy!!

I'm going for your choices in 'C' and 'D'
I'll definitely read Happy Ever After and A Wallflower Christmas
I'm also reading Judgment in Death for the SRC, but not sure that I'll get to it in Dec. Let me know when you start it - I'll be doing the audio version.

Angelique Anderson | 182 comments A. The Ghost of Reading Past -
1) Beyond the Highland Mist - I had never tried reading a time travel romance but I really loved this one. It's a shame that I haven't finished the series yet.
2) Dangerous Games - In the beginning I had a love/hate relationship with this series, but everyone kept telling me to keep going, that it would all be worth it in the end. And it was.

Beyond the Highland Mist (Highlander, #1) by Karen Marie Moning Dangerous Games (Riley Jenson Guardian, #4) by Keri Arthur

B. The Ghost of Reading Present -
1) Dead Witch Walking - I'm about to start this one. I'm not really sure if I'm going to like it but we'll see how it goes.
2) If Angels Burn - This was just given to me recently. It looks like a great book but I haven't gotten to it yet.

If Angels Burn (Darkyn, #1) by Lynn Viehl Dead Witch Walking (Rachel Morgan/The Hollows, #1) by Kim Harrison

C. The Ghost of Reading Future -
1) I'm the Vampire, That's Why - I liked this one, and because it has a humorous tone, I believe you will, too.
2) Dead Girls Are Easy - This was another book i really loved. It was quick read with some really funny dialogue.

I'm the Vampire, That's Why (Broken Heart Vampires, #1) by Michele Bardsley Dead Girls Are Easy (Nicki Styx, #1) by Terri Garey

D. The Tiny Tim factor -
1) Line of Scrimmage - It rare that non-PNR catches my eye, but when one does I must read it. So check it out and see how you like it. Maybe we'll end up reading it together.
2) Born of Night - I've recommended this one to you before. It's just one of my favorites. Something about the characters.

Line of Scrimmage by Marie Force Born of Night (The League, #1) by Sherrilyn Kenyon

Gail Distefano | 37 comments Hi Megan

A. The Ghost of Reading Past

1) Pleasure Unbound by Larissa Ione

I noticed this book in your TBR and I read it recently. I loved this book and the ones that follow in the series.

2) Cry No More by Linda Howard

This book as well I saw on your TBR. It was recommended to me in October's pick it for me challenge and I loved the book

B. The Ghost of Reading Present -

1)a The Secret Daughter by Shilipi Somaya Gowda

This one I wanted to read for a while. It has hit some best books of 2010 lists so I am anxious to get into it.

2) Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Album

This book was sent to me in the mail by a friend. Its a quick read but wow you can really get a lot from the life lessons in this book.

C. The Ghost of Reading Future -

1. Hot Ice by Nora Roberts

I am adding this book as well because I just finished it over the week end and noticed it was on your TBR list. Typical Nora. A light read

2. Eternal Kiss of Darkness by Jeaniene Frost

Gosh I love this author. This book is on your TBR and it is a great read.

Tiny Tim

Book that neither of us have read and a book I wouldn't mind reading again

1) Blood Trinity by Sherilyn Kenyon and Diana Love

This is a book neither of us has read. (I hope) . This is the first book of the Belador Series. I am dying to read it myself.

2) Fearless Fourteen by Janet Evanovich

This is a book I read recently but actually took forever to get through. It was more because of how busy I was I enjoyed it but I think I really need to reread it without so many breaks in between.

I hope you enjoy which ever book you decide to read.

Oh Megan

Thanks so many good choices here. I will have to ponder. I actually read the Larissa Ione book and recommended it to you (lol). That being said you must read that one for sure!!

Since you are reading Larissa Ione for another challenge why don't we both read Francine Rivers this month. I have not read the other two . I think I picked this one up at a book sale because I liked the cover. I have never read anything of hers before. I love trying new recommended authors.

message 168: by Debbie (new)

Debbie (db_debber) | 2757 comments ok, frustrated now - maybe third time is the charm, I keep losing internet connection and have to re-do it.

Hey KimKirt - my friend,
I love that we are so well matched, in library as well as time here on GR. Ok, I tried to stay mostly with your TBR. I enjoyed browsing through your library and this is what I came up with:

A. Ghost of Reading Past:
1) Hannah's List - This is a sweet contemporary romance, it is considered kind of the 7th book of Debbie Macomber's Blossom Street series, but this one especially can be read as a stand alone. You don't seem to have any Debbie and for me, she is a stand by for feel good contemporary (and not just cause she has a great name - hehe)
2) Halfway to the Grave - I read this one not to long ago for a PIFM challenge and was so glad I did, it starts out kind of weird, but it does improve a lot by the end.
(I gave both of these 5 stars)

B. Ghost of Reading Present:
1) The Hunger Games - I recently read this and am currently reading Catching Fire. While it is a bit more gruesome than most YA, it does a great action adventure story.
2) Bed of Roses - I see you have read the first of the series, I actually enjoyed this one better than the first. I am ready for the 4th (Happy Ever After), so I recommend the whole series.

C. Ghost of Reading Future:
1) Covet - haha, you recommended to me to read the next one, I say you should start the first, it really is pretty good (in a different way than BDB is)
2) Secrets of a Summer Night - I see you like LK also, the Wallflower series is the first of her I read and it has a little bit of a cross over into the Hathaways. Very good historical writer.

D. Tiny Tim Factor:
1) Playing the Game - I actually recently received this as a reviewers copy, but I have also seen it in stores and on the new list at the library.
2) Dark Prince - This is the first of the Carpathians series (there are currently 21 books). I would definitely be willing to re-read this one with you, it is along the lines of BDB, this one starts with the prince also.

well, I hope you find something in here that you want to read for the month, like you, I read several genres of books so I tried to represent a little of several of them (historical, paranormal, YA, contemporary). Let me know if you aren't feeling it with any of these though, I do have others that I cut from final listing. Good Luck & Happy Reading =)

Melanie (melaina) | 1339 comments Fran
First, thanks for facing my monstrous TBR! I loved your picks, and will probably read Wish List, Tempt Me with Darkness, Father Mine: Zsadist and Bella's Story and A Wallflower Christmas... And I'm dying to try Simply Irresistible (but I need to order it first!), and maybe I'll get around to Mockingjay:-) I'm adding the other two to my TBR... All in all, great choices:-) Now, for you (I tried to pick a couple from your TBR, if you want anything else, or new, let me know!)

Past
1. Halfway to the Grave - Jeanine Frost: first in the Night Huntress series... I totally loved it, and it got me hooked back on PNR after a dry spell -- Once you get past the slower first chapters, you're in for a great series! And Bones is yuuuuummmmmmmmy!
2. Pleasure Unbound - Larissa Ione: Yz recommended this series to me a couple months ago, and after reading the first book, I got hooked and blew through the others: great PNR!

Present
1. Beyond the Highland Mist - Karen Marie Moning: I reread this book last week (after several years), and remembered how much I love KMM's Highlanders.. I'm now rereading them all:-) This one is a time-travel romance, and beautifully written!
2. Passion by Lisa Valdez, or Mr. Impossible by Loretta Chase: The first is a erotic HR, which I really enjoyed (unlike most erotic HR, I actually teared up a little reading this one!), and the second is a hoot! Loretta Chase writes the funniest HR, and Rupert takes the prize:-) It's the second book of the series, but each can be read as a stand-alone(except maybe the latest one). I have both of them wrapped for one of my sister's Xmas presents..

Future
1. Kiss an Angel by Susan Elizabeth Phillips: I loved this book! It has a boatload of angst, humor, a psychic tiger, and a Russian prince... One of my fave CRs!
2. Pack Challenge by Shelley Laurenston: SL writes the funniest PNR: the shapeshifters are hot, the heroines kick-ass, and I love the whole Southern biker attitude! (I personally prefer SL's Pride series, but this book still rocks:-p)

Tiny Tim
1. The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie by Jennifer Ashley: I've only heard good things about this book, and have had it on my shelves for months:-) If you decide to try it, I'm in!
2. Trial by Fire by Jo Davis: This sexy series revolves around smoking hot firefighters (lol I feel like I'm selling them on TV!), this one starring 6'6'' Howard and curvy Kat.. Great couple, steamy scenes, and a deranged psychopathic killer.. What else? :-D

Halfway to the Grave (Night Huntress, #1) by Jeaniene Frost Pleasure Unbound (Demonica, #1) by Larissa Ione Beyond the Highland Mist (Highlander, #1) by Karen Marie Moning Mr. Impossible (Carsington Brothers, #2) by Loretta Chase Passion by Lisa Valdez Pack Challenge (Magnus Pack, #1) by Shelly Laurenston Kiss an Angel by Susan Elizabeth Phillips The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie by Jennifer Ashley Trial by Fire (Firefighters of Station Five, #1) by Jo Davis

2)A Kiss of Shadows This book was recommended to me by a friend, I loved it and would recommend it to anyone.

B. The Ghost of Reading Present -
1)The Darkest Night I chose this as we both have it on our TBR list.

C. The Ghost of Reading Future -
Nine Rules to Break When Romancing a Rake and Dangerous Highlander I chose these two books from your TBR list as they look good.

D. The Tiny Tim factor -
1)The Time Traveler's Wife
2)Men of the Otherworld

You have a lot on your TBR list! I had fun going through it though. So, here are my picks for you (and when I'm done I'll go through those you gave to me and let you know my choice(s))!

A. The Ghost of Reading Past
1) Bitten by Kelley Armstrong. This book set the background for a series that I have really enjoyed. She will bring in a small character in one book, and then have a book or two just about that character later on. It's kept the series interesting.
2) The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini. This book was recommended to me by a few different people. It took me over a year to finally pick it up, but I'm really glad I did read it.

B. The Ghost of Reading Present
1) Grimspace by Ann Aguirre. This was recommended to me from last month's challenge and I just finished it a couple of days ago. I thought it was really good!
2) Like Water for Chocolate by Laura Esquivel. People rarely give me a book as a present, so I picked one that was given to me as part of our work book club read. I did enjoy it though!

C. The Ghost of Reading Future
1) Traitor to the Blood by Barb Hendee. This is a book from one of my favorite series, so I thought it would be a good choice for you to since you liked the first few as well.
2) Blood Bound by Patricia Briggs. This is another one in a series that you enjoyed the first one from. I like to catch up on series when I find one I like, so I figure I would recommend the same to you!

The Tiny Tim factor
I could only find one, but I did!
1) Archangel's Consort by Nalini Singh. I enjoy her writing and we've both read the first two in the series. So, if you pick it, I'll buy a copy and read it this month as well!

Annie,
Thanks for doing my recommendations so quickly! After going over the list, I've decided to read Dangerous Highlander. I just ordered it used from Amazon, so I'll start reading as soon as it gets here. I also would like to read Ceremony in Death, but since it's my second choice does that mean you will be reading it as well?

message 174: by Tatiana (new)

Tatiana (tatiana_g) Hi Polina!

It was a bit of challenge to come up with suggestions as your TBR only has 12 books, but I did my best to incorporate as many as I could into my list of recommendations. I also hope that these books will be available in your country.

A. The Ghost of Reading Past

1) The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks - this book introduced me to E. Lockhart who is now one of my favorite YA authors.

2) Darkfever - people kept recommending this UF series to me for a long time and I was skeptical. I didn't need to be, this one of my favorite UF series and I can't wait to get my hands on the last chapter of this story.

B. The Ghost of Reading Present -

1) Matched - I finished reading this book a few days ago and while I wasn't wowed by it, I think there is a chance you will enjoy it.

2) Ship Breaker - this novel was gifted to me and turned out to be one of the top reads of the year for me.

C. The Ghost of Reading Future -

1) Mockingjay - the responses have been mixed, but I love this novel. You have to know how it all ends!

2) Crescendo - I am sure you'll be interested to read this sequel.

D. The Tiny Tim factor (totally optional but a worthwhile challenge)

1) Last Sacrifice - I gradually became disenchanted with this series, but I will read this book with you if you choose it.

2) Saving Francesca - a novel by another favorite YA author of mine. I loved this book and am always ready to read it again.

Enjoy!

Polina (p0lit0o) | 71 comments Hello, Tatiana!

This month's Pick It For Me was a real challenge for me. To say that we have different tastes in books will be a bad joke. I could fine only one book that we had both liked and rated the same. As for the others you must have seen for yourself.

So don't be mad if you don't like your picks, although I put great effort in finding them for you.

GHOST OF READING PAST
1) Guilty Pleasures - I may have rated this only 3 stars but something tells me you will like much more. Some people compare it with Charlaine Harris's Sookie series which you enjoyed so... :)
2) The Book Thief - Recommended to me A LOT!

GHOST OF READING PRESENT
3) Clockwork Angel - Just finished it.
4) North of Beautiful - Notice, the book was a gift from my aunt so don't judge it by the cover (corny, I know). The woman has some taste (unlike me obviously).

GHOST OF READING FUTURE
5) Catch-22
6) Evil Under the Sun

Well, I tried. From here it's you. Piece of advice - have low expectations and you may surprise yourself, and rate one above average for a change.

Guilty Pleasures (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter, #1) by Laurell K. Hamilton The Book Thief by Markus Zusak Clockwork Angel (The Infernal Devices, #1) by Cassandra Clare North of Beautiful by Justina Chen Headley Catch-22 by Joseph Heller Evil Under the Sun by Agatha Christie

Melanie- Great job!! What to choose- you have made it difficult with your good picks. Leaning towards [book:Kiss an Angel
because I have a copy of that one already. I have already read Pack Challenge and I liked it, and I actually have the second one Go Fetch! lined up for 2 other challenges in Dec. I will definitely go with Go Fetch! and will try and get Kiss An Angel in. Maybe we can both read The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie together in January- no challenge necessary!

Thanks again- Trial by Fire went on my tbr list- looks good!

Ann (annabell123) Tania -

A. The Ghost of Reading Past
1. Maybe This Time I absolutely loved this book. I wish she had others like it.
2. Wicked Lovely I was really surprised by this book. I now have #2 on my shelf to read.

B. The Ghost of Reading Present
1. My Soul to Take This one was different than what I have been reading, so it was quite refreshing.
2. The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud This was such a quick and easy read.

C. The Ghost of Reading Future
1. Vision in White It looks like you have read the 4th one in this series. Honestly, the earlier ones were way better. And this one may actually be the best.
2. The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants I see that this is quite different than what you have been reading, but it is on your TBR. I really liked this book and intend on re-reading the series.

D. The Tiny Tim Factor
1. Flat-Out Sexy I am looking forward ot reading this book. I am on the list to get it from the library.
2. The Forgotten Garden This book was amazing, not exactly romance though.

Courtney K (cklueh) | 510 comments Pick-It-For-Me Challenge- DECEMBER 2010
Choose For: Miss

A. The Ghost of Reading Past -
1) Insatiable by Meg Cabot helped me give Adult books another chance. I usually read YA, and I thought since Meg Cabot writes YA too, I would like it. I would classify it as paranormal romance.
2) The Giver by Lois Lowry was recommended to me by a former teacher. It is sci-fi/alternate reality. It is a haunting book that makes you see your world differently. My favorite part is the end--so you'll have to let me know what you think if you choose this one.

B. The Ghost of Reading Present -
1) Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris. I started reading this after watching the HBO series True Blood. It is different from the series, so there are still surprises. I haven't finished it yet.
2) The Uglies by Scott Westerfeld. I gave this as a gift to my BFFs teenage daughter. It gives going through puberty a whole other dimension.

C. The Ghost of Reading Future -
1) Ice by Sarah Beth Durst. Retelling of East of the Sun and West of the Moon. Just fabulous. This book put me on a fairy tale kick.
2) Graceling by Kristin Cashore. I actually preferred Fire to Graceling, but Graceling was the first book, so you should read it first. They both have a strong female character kicking butt.

D. The Tiny Tim factor (totally optional but a worthwhile challenge)
1) The Julian Game by Adele Griffin
2) The Secret Garden is the only book I really re-read ever (unless I don't remember I read it in the first place). It is my favorite book, so I don't mind.

Insatiable by Meg Cabot The Giver (The Giver, #1) by Lois Lowry Dead Until Dark (Sookie Stackhouse, #1) by Charlaine Harris The Uglies Trilogy (Uglies, #1-3) by Scott Westerfeld Ice by Sarah Beth Durst Graceling (The Seven Kingdoms, #1) by Kristin Cashore The Julian Game by Adele Griffin The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett

FlibBityFLooB Hey Pollyanna -- thanks for the picks :)

From your picks, I have a couple of books on hand in my giant To-be-read pile which helped me make my decision. I'll read two books you picked for me:
- Fast women
- The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner

I'll be posting your picks tonight after I get a chance to browse through your shelves!

Tania | 644 comments Hi Ann,

Here's your picks for the month - hope you enjoy!

A. The Ghost of Reading Past -
1) One for the Money by Janet Evanovich - welcome to the wonderful world of Stephanie, Ranger and Morelli. It's a fun read that introduced me to the first person narrative that didn't annoy me or come across as one sided story telling.

2) Dark Lover by J.R. Ward - sooo many people recommended this to me and I'm so glad they did. You don't have much PNR on your read list but step into the wonderful for world of vampires for grown ups... I certainly wasn't sorry. JR Wards writing is raw, hot, emotional and confronting - and absolutely brilliant.

B. The Ghost of Reading Present -
1) Magic in the Wind (Drake Sisters, #1) by Christine Feehan. I want to re-read the drake sisters on the lead up to xmas. I plan to start this one tomorrow.

2) Birthright by Nora Roberts - I love NR's writing and normally buy all her books myself, but this one was given to me as a present from a friend who knew I was studying archaeology. Actually has a fairly realistic view of how a dig runs. Minus the murder and romance of course.

C. The Ghost of Reading Future -
1) Circle of Fire by Michelle Zink - Thought I would give you the choice of continuing a series that you're obviously enjoying

2) Trust Me on This by Jennifer Crusie - I can't remember this Crusie but I have the feeling I've read it at some stage. Crusie's always good value.

D. The Tiny Tim factor (totally optional but a worthwhile challenge)
1) Delicious by Susan Mallery - We both have this on our TBR list, and I keep meaning to read it but other books jump in the path....

2) Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen - possibly the best christmas present I could give you and one of my all time favourite books.

I hope you find something here to read and enjoy.

Tania

Coffeentea | 128 comments Tricia, I hope there’s something here you like.

The Ghost of Reading Past
1. Talk Me Down by Victoria Dahl – this was a new author to me. I saw it recommended in a forum where someone requested for books with shy hero. The hero blushes whenever the heroine flirts outrageously with him. I liked it so much that I devoured the next two books in this series.
2. The Spellman Files by Lisa Lutz – this was recommended to me for the past two Pick It For Me Challenges. I finally got it from the library. It is suppose to be a funny mystery like Stephanie Plum. If I get done with my December Monthly Challenge, I’ll probably read this one.

The Ghost of Reading Present
1. Someone Like You by Susan Mallery – this author is new to me. I only got a few chapters in and I can feel the story engaging me.
2. Warrior by Zoe Archer – can it be a present to myself? When I saw the kindle bundle for the whole Blade of Rose series, I had to get it for myself! I love adventure stories and I hope I’ll love this one.

The Ghost of Reading Future
1. Halfway to the Grave by Jeaniene Frost – this is my favorite urban fantasy. I can feel the characters grow through each book. Being a die hard romance fan, I really love the way I can feel the love and respect the hero and heroine have for each other. The hero, Bones, is as well loved in the urban fantasy / paranormal world as Mr. Darcy in the Jane Austen world.
2. Gabriel's Ghost by Linnea Sinclair – this is a very good sci-fi read. But is it not light, if you want light you should try The Star King by Susan Grant. This has really complex world building, great character development, good action, intricate politics and a side of romance.

The Tiny Time Factor
1. Spirited Away by Cindy Miles – is it cheating if I list this one too? Because I am anxious to try this author. If one of us chooses this one, we both only have to read this one only for this challenge, right? Or if anyone objects, I’ll also list Crazy Hot as an alternative.
2. Secrets of a Summer Night by Lisa Kleypas – this is from one of my favorite historical romance authors. I love her Wallflower series. My favorite book in the series is the second one, It Happened One Autumn. And since I am reading the 5th Wallflower book, A Wallflower Christmas, for the December FAC, I wouldn’t mind reading the first one again to refresh my memory.

I'll choose Stargirl. I've been wanting to read that for a long time, now. It was one of the books the teens used for Battle of the Books this year, so everyone at work has read it. Thank you.

Thank you Courtney, I've actually read Dead in the family(the whole series actually), and also Uglies, but they were great choices. :)

I think i will go with either Ice or Graceling. Actually, Ice looks really interesting, so i will try to get a hold of it.

Thank you!

FlibBityFLooB Pollyanna: Here's my recommendations for this month...

A. The Ghost of Reading Past -
I loved, you haven't read: I like this urban fantasy series a lot
Halfway to the Grave by Jeaniene Frost
Recommended to me: Cherra recommended this and since Lisa Kleypas is RRRC Author of the Month, I thought I'd pass along it as a recommendation
Sugar Daddy by Lisa Kleypas

B. The Ghost of Reading Present -
Within a Week: Actually read this 10 days ago or so, but it is okay to read without reading the others in the series. If you choose this, I highly recommend the audiobook because the narrator did great voices
Heaven, Texas by Susan Elizabeth Phillips
Gift: Saw you read the first two in this trilogy. I love dystopian books, and gave this book to lots of people as a gift.
Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins

C. The Ghost of Reading Future -
Your TBR - Since you seem to like Stephenie Meyer and YA books, I thought you might like this
Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead
Your TBR - I see you liked the first four Anita Blake books... I think book 6 is my favorite, but you should probably read book 5 first :)
Bloody Bones (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter, #5) by Laurell K Hamilton

D. The Tiny Tim factor
1) Neither of us has read -
The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner: An Eclipse Novella by Stephenie Meyer

Halfway to the Grave (Night Huntress, #1) by Jeaniene Frost Sugar Daddy (Travises, #1) by Lisa Kleypas Heaven, Texas (Chicago Stars, #2) by Susan Elizabeth Phillips Mockingjay (Hunger Games, #3) by Suzanne Collins Vampire Academy (Vampire Academy, #1) by Richelle Mead Bloody Bones (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter, #5) by Laurell K. Hamilton The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner An Eclipse Novella by Stephenie Meyer

One for the Money I have set for another challenge, so that would fulfill this challenge too. But I'm really liking the Delicious book by Susan Mallery. So I will do both this month.

Ceej (drqangel) | 1015 comments Rebecca wrote: "Hello Drq, I hope this list is ok I had fun making it. Just let me know if you want to change anything.

Rebecca,

Good selections. Moon Called, Dangerous Highlander and Darkest Night are a part of one or more challenges I'm doing. I've been wanting to read Nine Rules to Break When Romancing a Rake but the library can't seem to fulfill my hold request. Maybe for this challenge and since my birthday is tomorrow (yay me!) I'll give it to myself as a present. Along with it I'll get Men of the Otherworld. Justifying my addiction :)

message 192: by Carolyn F. (new)

Carolyn F. I'm so glad you haven't picked yet Gigi! I'm usually just sliding it at the gate (or is that the base?).

A - 1 Mr. Cavendish, I Presume
A - 2 The Silver Metal Lover

B - 1 Nicholas
B - 2 The Secret

C - 1 Someone to Watch Over Me
C - 2 Lord of Scoundrels

D - 1 Duchess in Love
D - 2 Lady Isabella's Scandalous Marriage

I hope you find one you like!

Inga, hope you like it. The Demonica series is one of my favorites, EVER!!! I'll go with Last Sacrifice from the ones you picked ;)

message 194: by Leah (new)

Leah (leahkarge) Hey, Katie (SkateandDonate)! Here are my picks for you for this month:

A. The Ghost of Reading Past

1. Mine Till Midnight by Lisa Kleypas - I actually read the second book, Seduce Me at Sunrise, before I read this one, but I figured I would start you out at the beginning of the series. This series is what propelled me into reading Historical Romance and now I can't seem to put it down!

2. Dark Lover by J.R. Ward - I was recommended this book when I first joined Goodreads. I devoured the series and have reread it a few times since then. I highly recommend the series! :)

B. The Ghost of Reading Present
1. Seduce Me at Sunrise by Lisa Kleypas - This is the book I mentioned above and I am currently rereading it. And hey, if you read the first one then you can read this one, too!

2. Nine Rules to Break When Romancing a Rake by Sarah MacLean - I have not actually read this one yet, but I got it for my birthday this year and all of my friends seem to love it!

C. The Ghost of Reading Future
1. No Rest for the Wicked by Kresley Cole - You have this on your TBR list and I absolutely love this series. Sebastian Wroth is one of my favorites!

2. Wicked Deeds on a Winter's Night by Kresley Cole - This is the only other book on your TBR list that I have read, so I picked it. Besides, like I said, this is a fantastic series, in my opinion. And hey, who doesn't love a sexy Lykae!

D. The Tiny Tim Factor
1. Someone to Watch Over Me by Lisa Kleypas - Neither of us have read this book and I was planning on reading it this month for another challenge.

2. Under Her Skin by Susan Mallery - You haven't read this book and I need to reread it for a challenge, so I might as well recommend it, right? :D

I hope that there is something here you will choose and like. If not, let me know and I'll do my best to come up with new books for you!

message 195: by ~Megan~ (new)

~Megan~ (megadee) Gail,

Thank you for the awesome recs! I will definitely read Pleasure Unbound and Eternal Kiss of Darkness as I have them for other challenges. I'd like to read Hot Ice, too, as I love a good Nora book!

Okay-it was hard to narrow this down I was so excited by the topic.

Reading Past
1. On your TBR that I gave 4 or 5 stars The Search. I read almost all Nora Roberts. Read it this summer at the beach and liked the characters and the story.
2. Book that was recommended to me last month in this challenge that I read. Totally different than things I've read but that is the reason I do the challenge.Tithe

Reading Present
1. I am currently reading a variety of things but the light reading is Prince Charming Doesn't Live Here. I've never read anything by Christine Warren before but so far so good.
2. The last book I received as a present was Happy Ever After which you read this month too. I have given many people The Help which I love. Read it before they finish the movie.

Reading Future
Two that are on your TBR that I have read and enjoyed are Smash Cut and Death Echo. It's been a while for both but I seem to remember Smash cut had a nice twist. I'm also going to recommend Midnight Crystal because you seem to like Jayne Castle in all her author permutations. You might also enjoy Catherine Coulter's FBI series or Anne Stuart's Ice series.

Tiny Tim Factor
1. Neither of us has read Catch A Mate or Ella Enchanted
2. I would be willing to reread The Wild Child or A Knight in Shining Armor

See I couldn't keep it to the minimum. It's a little hectic this month--and I may not get to anything until winter break begins on Dec. 23 but I am looking forward to lots of reading then! Have fun.

Yz the Whyz (whyz) | 9327 comments Kerste,

Finally found some time to sit down and go over your shelves. We seem to have similar tastes, so I had fun going through your TBR list.

Here are my recommendation:

Ghost of Christmas Past
1. Slave to Sensation by Nalini Singh - I love this series. Typical paranormal fare with a complex plot arc.

2. The Book Thief by Markus Zusak - This was a Pick-it-for-Me recommended book, and I adored it.

Ghost of Reading Present
1. On the Edge by Ilona Andres - Just recently finished listening to it, and I love it. Rose is a wonderful heroine and Declan is just yummy. A mixture of fantasy, action and romance, complete with witty banter. If you like audiobooks, it has a fabulous narrator.

2. Gabriel's Ghost by Linnea Sinclair - Although I have a paperback copy of this book now, the first time I read it was an e-book version that Linnea herself emailed me when I needed a scifi romance for a challenge. I have a huge crush on Sully!

Ghost of Reading Future

1. Darkfever by Karen Marie Moning - What are you waiting for? Time to get the Fever, considering that the final book is coming out by January.

2. Pleasure Unbound by Larissa Ione - A hot succubus doctor, a tough demon hunter - if that is not a combustible combination, I don't know what is.

The Tiny Tim Factor

1. Sweet Surrender by Maya Banks - I haven't read it yet, but I'm willing to read it, if you will pick it.

2. Love Only Once by Johanna Lindsey - I read this when I was a teenager, and although this is my favorite Malory book, this is the start of that series. I wouldn't mind rereading it, and meet Anthony and James Malory all over again.

Well, I hope you find something you like. Now, curious about which one you will choose.
