Hey Allison,

I will be reading Magic Bites and Nice Girls don't have fangs. They're scheduled to come in this week.

Fran | 12278 comments Hi Melanie-

I decided to read Beyond the Highland Mist - it was good- funny and light- I loved Adrienne, how she dealt with the time-travel and how she dealt with Hawk. Thanks for the rec- I enjoyed it!

Penney (pschoener) | 3553 comments Hi Diane, I finished Key of Light last night and really enjoyed it. I had a great time with the characters and I look forward to the next book in the series. Thanks so much for the recommendation. Chances are I'll read The Spellman Files before the month is out as well :)

Courtney K (cklueh) | 510 comments Thank you, thank you, thank you, Miss for recommending Stargirl. I've been curious about it for ages, but it would have stayed at the bottom of my list as it doesn't portray dead people. I gave it 4 stars and I'll probably read the next book in the series. I'm not sure what it could possibly be about, though, with the way this one ended.

The third Key book is really good too.

I want to see what you think of the Spellman's though.

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments My book came into the library today. I'll hopefully pick it up and read it by the end of the weekend. I'll let you know what I think once I do.

I'm so glad you liked Stargirl, i thought the story was really touching and the style simple but superb.
The next one is on my TBR and i've browsed a little through it, it's written in the form of a letter that she writes to him many years later. I think it also retells some of the things that happened in the first book from her point of view. So, i'm sure it will be just as great. :)

I picked up Procession of the Dead and started it today. I'll be counting myself amongst the completed sometime this weekend I'm sure.

FlibBityFLooB PollyAnna -

Read The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner: An Eclipse Novella this evening since I watched the movie Eclipse yestercday and the characters were fresh in my mind.

The book started a bit slow for me, but I found several things of interest to the Twilight series within the book and am glad that I took the time to read it :)

It was very short, thought. I wonder if she'll ever write Midnight Sun out all the way to get Edward's perspective on things.

Still have to read my other book you recommened this month, but I'll post again when I do :)

Yz the Whyz (whyz) | 9327 comments Kerste,

I decided to go ahead and read Lisa Kleypas' Someone to Watch Over Me in order to strike two challenges down with one book (FAC and Pick-It-For-Me). I finished it last night, and as I'm discovering Kleypas delivered as usual. I will be looking for the rest of the Bow Street Runners definitely.

Btw, I'm still planning to read Water for Elephants, my first choice among your recs, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I'll get it done before the month's end.

message 386: by Freya (new)

Freya (freya3377) Just finished Key of Light Key of Light (Key trilogy, #1) by Nora Roberts and got the sequel from the library. Thanks for the recommend Jim... I loved it, once I started it :)

I have had Nora Roberts on my TBR for a while now. I think I'm going to be reading a lot more from her now...

Now to get Nation Nation by Terry Pratchett and Brokeback Brokeback Mountain by Annie Proulx , both aren't at my library. Think I will buy them...

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments Freya, the other two in the Key trilogy are just as good. So glad you enjoyed it. But I have to say that loved Nation.

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments Britta, I finished Procession of the Dead this morning. I liked it. I'm going to mull this one over before I write my review though. The twists and turns were wonderful.

Kami (aidansmama) | 988 comments I just finished Vampire Academy and loved, loved, loved, loved it. These characters are so great. I loved the writing. I loved the action and unrequited love. It is similar to Twilight in that it is young adult and there are vampires, but that is where the similarities end. I like this book so much better. Rose is tough and strong and more likable than Bella who I find annoying at times. I can't wait until this series is turned into movies. I also can't wait to get the next book in this series. Loved it!!! *Squeal* This challenge was fun. I am definitely in for January's. Now on to the Inverno challenge.

message 392: by KimKirt (new)

KimKirt | 1638 comments Debbie, finished Hannah's List. I really liked it! The flipping back and forth from first to third person was interesting. I think I would have liked Michael even better if his side was in third person, but I still really enjoyed it. I LOVED Macy!

Thanks for the great rec! I'd say 3.5 stars for me. I'm going to look at your recs again and pick another, I think I still have time to fit in one more this month.

Hi CoffeeNTea!

I just finished Spirited Away. I had to delay it for a few days due to writing obligations. But, I have to say I really enjoyed reading it and I'm glad we chose this book for our pick. It reminded me a bit of Lynn Kurland's Stardust of Yesterday, another book I absolutely love! I can see her influences. I agree, the story flowed well and really captured my attention. I connected with the heroine (I love archaeology!) and I kept hearing Gerard Butler's Scottish brogue with the hero's dialogue. lol I'll be reading more from this author, as well. Thanks for reading this with me! This was fun! :)

I loved all three of the Bow Street Runners books that I read. I own two of them. I'm glad you got a two-fer and enjoyed it!

I finished Pleasure Unbound yesterday. It was a bit hard for me to get through. I gave it 3 stars cuz the last third of the book flew and left me interested. The first 2/3s of the book was difficult for me and I had to pretty much make myself keep reading it (I actually had to pick up a much lighter short story in the middle just to lift my spirits a bit).

I think it's interesting, not sure if it's the time of year, but I ate up Jocelynn Drake's series this summer and it's all violence and death, but somehow the violence and death in this book really depressed me. Every time a character bit it, I was like, geez, I don't want to meet anyone else if they're just going to die!

Sigh, I put the next book in the Demonica series on my TBR, but I'll probably wait a while before I attempt it (everyone in that series has such a sad story, sheesh). Now I have to finish my last book for the A-Z book challenge.

I'm still up for reading the Maya Banks with you this month if you get the time, let me know.
