30.3 Shipwrecked!
Victorian Love Stories: An Oxford Anthology
The Mischief of the Mistletoe: A Pink Carnation Christmas
I would want to find these two books on a desert island for different reasons. I would want the first because it is full of some of my favorite Victorian authors, with lots more I don't know. The second takes place during Christmas--to take my mind off the heat of the island!--and it is set during the Regency period and has Jane Austen as a minor character. I would definitely want to be reminded of my favorite author while shipwrecked!
Also, Lauren Willig is a GoodReads author.

20.5 Oprah's On
Honor Bound by Sandra Brown from 1986
30.1 It's in the Cards
A. Queen of Hearts- Woman author since 2000
A Journal for Jordan: Hopes, Prayers, and Life Lessons from a Fallen Soldier and the Woman He Loved for the Son He Left Behind by Dana Canedy- published in 2008
This was a powerful book about love and loss- much more Canedy's story than Sgt. King's journal
B. King of Hearts- Monarchy (Morocco) since 2000
The Caliph's House: A Year in Casablanca by Tahir Shah published in 2006
Highly entertaining expat/home remodeling book- a very interesting way to explore a culture. After reading this book Casablanca is an armchair destination- I'm not sure I'm up for a RL trip
30.4 Mysteries & Animals
A. w/animal: The Anteater of Death by Betty Webb
Way too cozy for me- the anteater is blamed for killing a zoo benefactor
B. animal title: Coyote Wind/a Montana Mystery: A Gabriel Du Pre Mystery by Peter Bowen
Good characters, great sense of place, maybe too much intuition and not enough investigation- I might revisit this series
30.7 Good Spirits
A. Older year (1900): Kim by Rudyard Kipling
I had never read this classic- more spiritual than I expected
B. Smile
Seaworthy: A Swordboat Captain Returns to the Sea by Linda Greenlaw

I never read the Narnia series as a kid but now wish I had. They are full of adventure and magic and fantasy lands & creatures. The only "complaint" I would have of them now is that they are rather youngish but that's not the fault of the series...its written for the young. I'm enjoying all of the books.

25.4 - Lisa MD's Task: Stay Tuned For Your Regularly Scheduled Program
You are all settled in the recliner, remote in hand, for a night of television watching. It’s that much anticipated time of year, when old favorites return and new shows premiere. You scroll through the menu on your big, flat-screen HDTV, then press the remote to tune in to your show; but wait, the t.v. goes static, develops rabbit ears, and your rocker fully reclines and you flip over backwards in time until you reach 1960.
3. Blue Bloods
Read a book with a police officer as a main character.
*****I read Naked in Death by Robb (Eve Dallas is a police officer in the year 2058)
6. The Bugs Bunny Show

I read The Girl Who Chased the Moon and Beyond Heaving Bosoms: The Smart Bitches' Guide to Romance Novels. I chose TGWCTM because it is a magical read filled with hope and love and I chose Beyond Heaving Bosoms because it is witty and entertaining and there are 3 mad-libs at the end so I can make my own romance stories and keep myself amused while I wait to be rescued!
