Nairabell | 303 comments It's the kid from Stormbreaker - guess he grew into his head :) I can't believe it's Quinn from Glee!

message 402: by Sashana (new)

Sashana I know she looked familiar! I can't believe I didn't realize her...I watch that show every week. *bashes head*

message 403: by Nairabell (new)

Nairabell | 303 comments Happens to me all the time, and is pretty much the main reason I have IMDB bookmarked :)

message 404: by Sashana (new)

Sashana What's IMBD?

message 405: by Nairabell (new)

Nairabell | 303 comments IMDB is the Internet Movie Database. Basically you search by movie/show or actor and get pages related to them. There's also news, pics and previews. It's great for those 'where the heck do I know you from?' moments - my latest was realising the guy who plays Terry Bellefleur in True Blood is the new on/off guest star in NCIS.

message 406: by Rachel (new)

Rachel (treychel) | 1484 comments I love IMBD!

message 407: by Shay (new)

Shay | 923 comments Just popped into the library on my way to the office. Almost every day I have to go to work, I go to the library as my reward:

Lily of the Nile (Cleopatra's Daughter, #1) by Stephanie Dray The Other Wes Moore One Name, Two Fates by Wes Moore River Marked (Mercedes Thompson, #6) by Patricia Briggs The Case of the Man Who Died Laughing From the Files of Vish Puri, Most Private Investigator (Vish Puri, #2) by Tarquin Hall A Short History of Tractors in Ukrainian by Marina Lewycka Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy

The library sells used books, so I also picked these up for 75 cents total:
Henry and Clara A Novel by Thomas Mallon Man Gone Down by Michael Thomas When the Elephants Dance by Tess Uriza Holthe

Sashana,
The part where his dad takes him to the seminar thingy and he's crawling between chairs had me laughing out loud. There are so many funny lines in that book!

another book that had me laughing similar to that was
Emails from an Asshole

I checked out the website attached to the synopsis of Emails from an Asshole and I almost keeled over from laughing so hard. I'm definitely reading it, I can't resist a funny book. Thanks for the recommendation.

message 411: by Lisa S (new)

message 412: by Sashana (new)

Oh my gosh I know!!
I am in love...did you see his interview on Ellen? haha, I was glad I have a DVR so I could rewind :)

But I haven't seen the movie yet and I can't decide if I want to read the book or not because I've gotten mixed reviews but mostly I've heard that it flops toward the end...

Sh*t My Dad Say's is waiting for me at the library, if only we didn't get 20 inches of snow last night i could go pick it up. I heard great things about it and I could use a good laugh or two.

message 418: by Sashana (new)

Sashana *Shakes fist a snow* I want to know what you think, Amanda. If your in need of a laugh then this is definitely the book. I wish the author would write more though.

I saw the movie for Scott Pilgrim. The 80's video game references for those that grew up in that time were AWESOME.

I loved loved loved the movie! That's kind of why I want to read the books. Plus I work a lot of nerd cons (comic book / gaming conventions) and everyone seems to be talking about this series.

message 429: by Kristina (new)

Kristina (kristinalawhead) I just came back from the library and I picked up

It always seems to work out that way doesn't it?

message 437: by Shay (new)

Shay | 923 comments Sashana wrote: "I really enjoyed Unearthly and I hope you do too, Jessica. My library doesn't have XVI :("

Neither does mine. But it does own like 20 copies of all three DVD versions of Showgirls. So, culture and high art are very important to my little town.

message 438: by Rachel (new)

Rachel (treychel) | 1484 comments Sashana, I would love to take a crack at it together! And when I say crack I really mean it...I am the first one to crack this copy open from my library. I love being the first one to get them. :)

My library doesn't have XVI either. :(

message 439: by Jex (new)

Jex (jexball) | 2227 comments Maybe XVI is too new for all the libraries? I know I waited for forever because there weren't very many copies and I live near a big city.

message 440: by Kellyflower (new)

Kellyflower | 248 comments Jessica wrote: "Finally got XVI by Julia Karr and Unearthly (Unearthly, #1) by Cynthia Hand after a very long wait for both."

Jessica I'm reading Unearthly now too! So far it's interesting.

Shay - your comment "Neither does mine. But it does own like 20 copies of all three DVD versions of Showgirls. So, culture and high art are very important to my little town" made me laugh.

message 441: by Sashana (new)

Sashana When do you want to start, Rachel?

message 442: by Rachel (new)

Rachel (treychel) | 1484 comments Hmmm. I am reading Alice I Have Been right now. I am not sure how long I will continue with it though. I don't know if it is because I have been reading nothing but YA and fantasy lately, but it is a little hard to comprehend. I will let you know by the end of today if I am to continue with it. If I do, it would probably be the beginning of next week when I start Angelfire.

message 443: by Sashana (new)

Sashana No problem. I still have to read a few books for the March Madness reading challenge and the Sign of Times Chinese Edition. Plus I have a sh*t load of home work so no rush. Let me know next week then.

message 444: by Rachel (new)

Rachel (treychel) | 1484 comments Ok. Will do! I still have to write my lessons (at least I know what I am going to do) today and pack for this weekend. Going home for a few days. :)
