Welcome Laura, Stephanie and Steph!I'm thinking 18 is going to be way to easy for this group! I think I might also be clicking on those links...fun looking challenges, and I still have a few hours until it's actually July 1st...
Oh my goodness, no you did not just say that, Judithe! LMAO!!! Bad, bad, BAD! <--with a little tabletop slap there at the end for emphasisNot me, nope. Not gonna do it. I am in control. *feel self-control cracking*links so pretty*challenges so fun*just a peek*
I did just sign up for one more...but a 6 mo challenge...now only 15 hours till the 1st....I'm gonna try and not sign up for anymore from 7/1 until all July challenges are half-way done...gotta get a couple more in ....eek! I am now turning off the PC, walking away, going to work and NOT going to think about which other challenges I might possibly, just perhaps, join.....ducking head in shame...slinks off to work...but still thinking...just one more, or two, how bad is that really???? Honestly, the kids can start to do their own laundry....and what's wrong with take-out?
I am checking out a few of your challenges too and figuring out which ones I am going to take on. Definitely interested in a couple of them. Great ideas!

Welcome, Jenn! Some familiar challenges, and I see you've bravely taken on Serial Reader...very tempting!
Fellow challenge addicts...serious question here...just started a new challenge, and it has a "chick-lit" category. This is a category that I actually don't have a grasp on (blame it on the "lost-decade-plus" from being completely out-of-touch with US/English pop culture), and am wondering if these authors (in your esteemed opinions!) would all be considered in the category of "chick-lit" (all names gleaned from fellow participants' lists): Janet Evanovich, Mary Janice Davidson, Nora Roberts, P.C. Cast, Gail Carriger and Katie MacAleister. Thanks for any input!
Judithe, I wouldn't consider Gail Carriger, Mary Janice Davidson or Katie MacAlister chick-lit. Gail is definitely Steampunk. The others whilst humorous are not contemporary but have elements of paranormal.Rossy had some great Chick-Lit links in her Dare to Read One Genre Challenge postings.

I happily edited my post #2 as I finally finished a challenge counting for this! Happily, because the final book was a good, but weighty one...and it took me so long! (But was a very good, and thought-provoking read:Crusader's Torch )

Complete 18 challenges. The challenges can be of any type, excluding this one, and in any group or personal, but all must start on or after July 1. Post a list of completed challenges including "sponsoring" site (can be your list too for personal challenges), challenge details(duration, etc, don't need full details if you post the link...another fun way to find more sites with challenges!) and books read.
AddendumA number of us have started one year challenges from July. Those challenges will count as 1/2 a challenge IF they are 50% completed by 12/31/10. So, two 1 year challenges joined after July 1, 2010 that are 50% complete on the last day of the year will count as 1 of the 18 challenges.
Three a month seems a nice round, manageable number, but feel free to shoot for more!
