Full Moon Challenge
Thanks to the internet you can probably find a hard copy to see if it matches your dreams. I can see finding a book that relates to each of the moon names. Sturgeon might be a bit tough. Maybe something featuring a fish or perhaps where they eat a lot of caviar (mainly gotten from sturgeon). Of course I picture a comedy mockup of Madonna's "Like a Virgin" video a'la Weird Al Yankovic called "Like a Sturgeon"

Dee, do we do the word "Moon" each month, or only the 1st word? And is it only title, or can we also use author's name? I want to double check it if's doable for me before I say I'm in. :)
Just the first name...i.e. Sturgeon...and yes, so the first month's challenge will run from Aug 24 to September 22 (day prior to the next full moon)
title and or author, same as the read the month challenges
Officially I won't be in. Sorry. After the 10 categories for the monthly, the pick it for me, and the FAC, I just don't have the time. But I'll be pulling for you all to finish.
I might do it but we'll see what the challenges look like. Ithink it would be cool to do a quarterly challenge also that builds on this one, where during the three months you have to read one book that fits each moon, like the game one we're doing now and the women one we did before.
hey kelley that sounds interesting...lol (why didn't I think of that...)...there may be some changes pending...haha!!Kelley wrote: "I might do it but we'll see what the challenges look like. i know me too....but a lot of the letters for this one do overlap august and september, so I think that will help
My vote is to change it to a yearly as I'm a sucker for a challenge, and can't say no, so I'm already on challenge overload. Doing this yearly/quarterly as you put in option 2, I think, would work out great!
thanks Amanda...since you're the only one who has said anything...lol!! And I talked to Yz - I'll post a revised challenge tonight!
Yay! I would love to do this one Dee, and if you make it quarterly/yearly I'm in. I don't think I can fit it in monthly.
yeah, its going to be a yearly challenge, i'll post later on today hopefully - Yz and I are tweaking some of the categories
Good. I think yearly challenge would be so great. Maybe then I can do this one. Lol, I am sooo blaming you for another challenge Dee.
I agree. I think the yearly would be best as I just started the 10 book Read the month August challenge. So I'm behind in that and I just started the RRRC and I am over a month behind that. Needless to say I would really like to do this one. I haven't done a challenge like this before so I think it would be interesting and fun. :)
I would love to join if it is yearly. I tend to sign up for too many monthly challenges, but I really love the concept of the full moons of this one! Can't wait to hear more.
revised rules posted in the first Msg!! Each section will run 4 moons or 4months. You have the option of reading 1, 2, or 3 books per moon
I'm in Dee! I will be a Moon-Walker but I have a feeling I will add more as time goes on. Will post list later.Start Date - Aug. 24th- Dec. 20th
lol, love it, ugh, moon runner is 3 books for each moon? 36 books, am I understanding that right?ummm - I think I will go with moon walker and see if I can do better, but wow that is a lot - post later also.
evil genius she is, I love doing your guys challenges.
yep, so 36 books through the year...it works out to 12 every 4 months or 3 a month!Debbie wrote: "lol, love it, ugh, moon runner is 3 books for each moon? 36 books, am I understanding that right?

I'm in :) Whats three more books a month right!!? Perhaps I shall be able to make a dent in my bookcase of unread books.8/24/10-12/20/10
I'm in. Should we post our list here or are you going to make a thread in the yearly challenge thing?
I'll post a thread in the other challenges section probably...since we are going to divide it up into three sections...i'll post here when its done
I'll start as a Moon Walker as well, but hope to move up a level - which leads to a question: if we move up to the next or even *gasp* highest level in the first quarter, does that also move us up automatically for all quarters, or are they independent choices?

Can't wait to start this one!! I'll post my list soon :))... I think I'll try moon-strider and see how it goes!!
each is independat (im not feeling that devious)...but if you say starting out as a Runner in each third...you can't drop back..BJ Rose wrote: "I'll start as a Moon Walker as well, but hope to move up a level - which leads to a question: if we move up to the next or even *gasp* highest level in the first quarter, does that also move us up ..."
Ok, I'm putting myself down for Moon Walker. I might do more but I'm already in ssooo many challenges, I figure I'd better just give myself the option of only 1 book per category "just in case."

1. Sleeping under the light of a full Moon will make a woman pregnant.
2. A full Moon during harvest means a good crop.
3. A new Moon brings good fortune.
4. Werewolves howl and witches ride during a full moon
If anyone has read The Girl Who Chased the Moon, they would know that each full moon that occurs has a different name, and thus a new challenge is born!
