Duration 1 July 2010 to 31 December 2010

Complete those series you've been meaning to

This challenge has been inspired by the "how many series are you reading" thread. You will not be surprised to learn this one is about series books (trilogies etc included). I was going to set a new series challenge but have decided to make this a complete those series challenge instead.

The idea is simple as we all have several series we are 3 of 8 books into etc. The challenge is to read them up to the most recent release. So in our example, to read books 4 to 8 of the series. These will be series you have actually started generally but if you want to include new ones you start too go for it! (see example below)


All the series don't have to be PNR/UF as long as some are. Either post them now or as you go.

You just pick your level for this challenge (you can change later if you want to).

Easy challenge - complete one or two series.
Medium challenge - complete three to five series.
Hard challenge - complete up to ten series.
V. hard challenge - complete twenty series.
Impossible? challenge - complete ALL you series

One of my series I'm reading is Chicagoland Vampires by Chloe Neill and I've read up to date (ie before 1st July) 1 of 3 books (third published soon, yes!) So I might show the following;

great challange idea jen. so how would we do this i mean it says july-december but like for an example you have succubus blues up there for june 15, would that count since its not july or close to july?

i mean let's say i have this series i read books to like in march and the next release is comming out in july would i add the ones i read in march?

The challenge is for series you have already started (generally), the idea being to complete the rest of the series in July to December.

I've simply marked off the ones I've already read in a series to date to distinguish which I still have to read - just my way of putting READ!!

So your series you read in March is one you have started, so you'd list this as one of the ones you wanted to complete, put down all the books in the series including the to be released one and mark those which you've read to date. The ones you still have to read are the ones for the challenge.

What exactly do you me "recent release"? IE: I might start a series with x amount of books & the most recent release was in Feb 2010. But another book in the series is to be released Nov 2010. Do I stop at the Feb release or do I have to read the Nov release too?

I'd say definitely include books released up to 30 June. It's up to you whether to include releases during the challenge period, personally I probably will.
