UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish Mollie, is this your first read of the Wallflowers? I adored them and the Hathaways!

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish Courtney, I love those Bridgertons!

Melanie (melaina) | 411 comments UM, I'll have to try Bruhns then, they sound fun:-)

Read One Dance with a Duke (Stud Club, #1) by Tessa Dare Twice Tempted by a Rogue (Stud Club, #2) by Tessa Dare Soulless (The Parasol Protectorate, #1) by Gail Carriger yesterday: 4.5, 4 and 5 stars respectively:-) I love Alexia from Soulless:-) My favorite quote was:

"Alexia blinked stupidly at the Beta from around the earl's upper arm. Her heart was doing crazy things, and she still could not locate her kneecaps. She took a deep breath and put some serious attention into tracking them down." lol...

Just finished Untamed (Medieval, #1) by Elizabeth Lowell (decided to keep Changeless till I get book 3)... I really enjoyed this book, but OMG I felt like smacking Dominic with all his talk of land and sons!!! I really liked Meg, found the story intriguing and sweet, and loved the ending (thank God Dominic redeemed himself in my eyes, lol!): when he realizes what she believes of him... ***goose bumps*** 5 stars, and restraining the urge to buy Duncan and Simon's stories in paperback (as I have them in pdf, lol)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish Melanie, I'm glad you liked book 2 of Stud Club. Many people didn't, but overall I really enjoyed it.

Amanda (kittiescardigansbooks) | 207 comments I read the first of the Stud Club books, and have been debating over reading the second. There is something keeping me from reading it, but it's encouraging that you two enjoyed it. I'll have to see if my library has it (I bought the first on my Nook)

Yes, I was a Kleypas virgin until yesterday. Now I'm an LK Junkie. The remaining Wallflowers books are "in transit" to my library branch and I've got the first three Hathaways already checked out, along with the 3 Travises.

Just finished It Happened One Autumn and am in the middle of a re-read of
Branded by Fire (Psy-Changeling, #6) by Nalini Singh

I have to say that of the four Wallflowers books the third one Devil in Winter was my favorite! I'm excited to see what you thought of it! I just finished When Strangers Marry, and thought it was amazing! But I have to say, one of my all time favorite Kleypas (or historical romance in general) was Dreaming of You. It was so emotional and one of the rare books that I actually cried a little! However, the second two that I mentioned are earlier books than the Wallflowers, and have a slightly different style. The Wallflowers are pretty lighthearted, and Dreaming of You is a little deeper, and When Strangers Marry was middle of the road between the two.

The more I write about this the more Lisa Kleypas books I think you need to check out!!! Check out the Bow Street Runners books too (Someone to Watch Over Me, Lady Sophia's Lover, Worth Any Price)! So good! Ok, I'll stop now...

Melanie - you must read Duncan and Simon's stories.
Both books are great but I have to say that 'Enchanted' (Simon's story) really tugged at my heart strings.

I'm reading The Italian's Inexperienced Mistress (Ruthless) (Harlequin Presents, #2621) by Lynne Graham - a freebie download from Harlequin. Good so far.

Carol, I really enjoyed the Lynne Graham book you're reading. Hope you like it.

I'm reading Skin Game (Skin, #1) by Ava Gray . Just what the doctor ordered if you like dangerous heroes, dangerous heroines, and gritty romance.

Waiting for On the Way to the Wedding (Bridgertons, #8) by Julia Quinn so I'm starting Nine Rules to Break When Romancing a Rake by Sarah MacLean ! Love the heroine so far and the hero ain't so bad either! ;) Love me a Rake!

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish Which books are Duncan and Simon from? Series I mean?

Amanda (kittiescardigansbooks) | 207 comments I'm reading Shoot to Thrill (Passion For Danger, #1) by Nina Bruhns . I bought that one and the third in the series A Kiss to Kill (Passion For Danger, #3) by Nina Bruhns at Half Price Books, but they didn't have the second! I'm probably going to cave and get it for my Nook, cause I already know that I'm going to desperately want to read it!

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish Yeah, and this is a continuing storyline.. you really NEED to read book 2, Amanda.

You are going to LOVE that book! Now I want to re-read it! I'll have to when I'm done with the Nina Bruhns series...Can't wait for Ten Ways to Be Adored When Landing a Lord by Sarah MacLean !

Courtney (mrs_hf) | 164 comments Alrghty. I was out and about so I stopped by the library to pick up my books that had come in.

Picked up:
Wicked Intentions (Maiden Lane, #1) by Elizabeth Hoyt How to Abduct a Highland Lord (The MacLean Curse, #1) by Karen Hawkins Secrets of a Summer Night (Wallflowers, #1) by Lisa Kleypas

And those are just the beginning! I have approx 6 "In Transit" and 7 or so more that I have to wait a little longer for! Gah! SO MANY NEW SERIES! The Historical Romance genre is sweeping me away! ;) ANYWHO, anybody read through the three I just picked up? Any opinions?

message 1369: by Danielle (new)

Danielle (Smiley1881) @ Courtney, I won Wicked Intentions (Maiden Lane, #1) by Elizabeth Hoyt in a contest and can't wait to read it. So hopefully you think its good.

message 1370: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (kittiescardigansbooks) | 207 comments @ Courtney - I've read both How to Abduct a Highland Lord and Secrets of a Summer Night and really liked them both! I have Wicked Intentions on my tbr pile (I have really liked Elizabeth Hoyt's books so far), so I'm looking forward to what you think! Happy reading!

Carol Cork *Young at Heart Oldie* (httpsrakesandrascalswordpresscom) UniquelyMoi *~*Dhestiny*~* wrote: "Which books are Duncan and Simon from? Series I mean?"

Dhes - They are from Elizabeth Lowell's 'Medieval' series which includes:

Untamed (Medieval, #1) by Elizabeth Lowell - Dominic's book
Forbidden by Elizabeth Lowell - Duncan's book
Enchanted (Medieval, #3) by Elizabeth Lowell - Simon's book

I would definitely recommend them.

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish Fabulous! Thanks, Carol. I love medieval settings.

Melanie (melaina) | 411 comments UM - I thought it was sweet: not a lot of action in it, but a good read:-) But I'm really looking forwards to Julian's story... It looks like it'll be good: maybe because I'm a fan of the whole "friends before lovers" theme:-)

Carol - Now you've really got me interested in reading the other two books:-)

Courtney - Nine Rules to Break When Romancing a Rake by Sarah MacLean is amazing!!! I can't wait to have to reread it before reading the next book!

Danielle - Tell us what you think of the new Elizabeth Hoyt book! I also bought it:-)

I read You Can't Hide (book #5) by Karen Rose yesterday, and was actually pretty surprised when I got to the end: I didn't really expect the result!:-) 5 stars for me.. And Aidan was very sexy:-)

Mollie *scoutrmom* (scoutrmom) | 635 comments Boy, miss a day (DH had the laptop) and I miss a lot!

Darcy, I loved both Nauti and Wild and Water Bound, but I thought When Wizards Rule was a great erotic story that didn’t have much substance outside of the bedroom. Perhaps you’ll like it better than I did.

Amanda, I think I’ll probably end up reading all that Kleypas has written to date, but on your recommendation I’ll put the Bow Street Runners on the list right after I finish the series I’ve got checked out now. Thanks for helping me prioritize!

Lady D, I think Skin Game was great…enjoy!

Courtney/Vhibrant, you’ve got me so thinking of Bridgertons that I re-read The Duke and I yesterday. I loved Secrets of a Summer Night and the Autumn title, Winter and Spring are “in transit” and I’m frustrated by the fact that means I’ll have to wait another day or two. Our library system lets you “freeze” a request, which means you can put your request on hold without losing your place in line. I’m #64 on the waitlist for Mockingjay, so I froze the request for the entire trilogy and I’m now first in line for Hunger Games and the second book. When I get close on Mockingjay, I’ll unfreeze and read all of them in one huge gulp.

Carol, I’m all for freebies! I agree with you about the Lowell books. Definitely worth it. I like her contemporary romances also, especially the early series romances before she started writing suspense stories.

I'm currently enjoying Stephanie Pearl-McPhee Casts Off by Stephanie Pearl-McPhee

I really liked Water Bound, thought Burton's story in Nauti and Wild was really good, but Leigh's so so, it seemed so rushed. When Wizards Rule was horrible for me. This is the first book that I have encountered from her that I can say that of.

Then you must not have read Shadowed Legacy or Shattered Legacy, definitely two I'd advise avoiding. Lora Leigh has done so much better with the Breeds and her Ops, but there is no need to read everything she writes.

My library just ordered some of her early Ellora's Cave books. I have requested all of them to check them out. I am not sure if those 2 are on there, but I will check these out as I won't have to spend any money on them. If those 2 are in this group I will for sure now go in with no expectations.

Mollie *scoutrmom* (scoutrmom) | 635 comments Darcy wrote: "... some of her early Ellora's Cave books. I have requested all ..."

Darcy, an endorsement and a warning here. I loved a lot of what she did for Ellora's Cave, especially the early Breed books, her novella in Tales from the Temple I, the Bound Hearts series, and the really extreme Men of August books. If you're not familiar with Ellora's Cave, these books are much more explicit and have more frequent sex scenes than anything I'd encountered before, including the Brava books. There are often oral and anal play, threesomes, and BDSM elements, much more than in the Nauti series. I'm comfortable with all that, but I know not everyone would be.

Caveat emptor, or whatever. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

What did you think about this one, Mollie? It is one of my favourites from the Bridgerton series. I thought the scene where they all played Pall Mall was hilarious. I also liked the fact that Anthony and Kate started out hating each other which created some really funny dialogue.

I agree, it's fantastic. The Mallet of Death, the ball in the lake, what a great scene in a great story. I updated my review yesterday, in case you're curious what more I thought of it.

Yesterday I read Benedict's story, and I'm really upset that I've misplaced my copy of Romancing Mr. Bridgerton. I stopped at the public library because they said my Lisa Kleypas Wallflowers book was in, but it's the Spring title, and the Winter one is still "in transit".

On the bright side, Wish List by Lisa Kleypas arrived from PBS today, and I started Death's Excellent Vacation (Includes Night Huntress, #4.5) by Charlaine Harris .
The Sookie and Pam tale is great, now I'm reading about Cat and Bones.
