I finished book one and liked it. I am about 75 pages into #2 and it is good. I'll stop back and let you know when I finish it.

So far, Then You Hide (Bullet Catcher, #7)
by Roxanne St. Claire has my attention. The hero doesn't like the heroine. She's not his type.

Yeah, for now!

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish Right now I'm starting Taming Her Irish Warrior . So far, so good.

I finished this one and did think it was better than the first one. But I think a lot of that is because the world was already set up so you weren't bogged down in learning all the rules.

I am looking forward to reading #3.

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish Darcy, thank you! The reason I haven't given up on the series all together is exactly for that reason. Book 1 is almost always the weakest book in any series with all the backstory, setting up new worlds, etc...

I'll be sure and read book 2.

message 57: by Darcy (new)

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 704 comments I know what you mean. I hate it when series suffer from 1st book syndrome.

message 58: by [deleted user] (new)

Yes, should be read in order...or you'll be lost. I am now onto the third book.

Take Me Take Me (Langley Family Trilogy, #3) by Lucy Monroe

...and so far so good! I like Lucy Monroe's style of writing, very similar to Kleypas.

The Romance Reviews (Carole) (The_Romance_Reviews) | 8 comments Nightkeepers is awesome! I'm sure you'll love it!

The Romance Reviews (Carole) (The_Romance_Reviews) | 8 comments Recently bought and am reading Something About You by Julie James. Hilariously funny without going over the top. And the hero is melt-worthy. My blogmate loves it so much we're having a giveaway! http://tiny.cc/q8w0S

Carolyn F. I finished Death's Mistress, this book was pretty good. Started book #1 in Breed series Tempting the Beast. Now this one is really good.

I have read most of the newer ones in the Breed series, but am having a hard time getting some of the earlier ones. I probably will have to break down and by the e-copies.

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish I really like the Breeds, Carolyn. Especially the more recent ones. Dawn's Awakening is my favorite, with Coyote's Mate and Mercury's War close behind.

You're lucky because I've been waiting for YEARS for Jonas Wyatt's story to come out (as you go through the books you'll see why) and it's due out next month. YOU won't have to wait!

message 64: by Darcy (new)

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 704 comments I agree that Jonas' story will be a good one. He is such a manipulator that I would like to see him get his on this end.

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish Oh yeah... and remember in Bengal's Heart, Law and Rule and all the comments THEY were making? Ha! I can't wait for them to 'get theirs' too!

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish Carolyn, check places like Thriftbooks.com for the earlier copies. They have free shipping. I've had really good luck with them.

message 67: by Carolyn F. (new)

Carolyn F. Dhestiny - there's an excerpt of Jonas' book on Lora Leigh's website if your interested. Short but really good.

Darcy - book #1 is an Ellora's Cave publisher book that's probably why you can't find it. I broke down and bought if off Amazon but even used it was about $9.50! I don't know if the libraries even get that publisher, which they should because they have a ton of good authors. I wish I had read this one first though because it goes into how they all became public. It's really good.

message 68: by Carolyn F. (new)

Carolyn F. Thanks for the link Dhestiny.

message 69: by Darcy (new)

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 704 comments I will probably end up buying them. There are a couple that I can't get from the library. It seems like they have re-released some of the earlier ones as the series has become more popular, but am having a hard time with the first 3.

Wow! That's a long love scene. I might have to pull that book off the shelf, Heidi. :)

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 704 comments Started Blue-Eyed Devil (Travises, #2) by Lisa Kleypas last night, was only going to read 50 pages and then go to bed. I wasn't even sure if I was going to like this one as Hardy was so bad at the end of Sugar Daddy, but ended up liking it so much that I stayed up until after 1:30am to finish it. Today I will start Smooth Talking Stranger (Travis's, #3) by Lisa Kleypas for more Travis family fun.

So sweet and innocent, yet very hot!

message 81: by Carolyn F. (new)

Carolyn F. I read Rapture and Pleasure, these books were so good. I'm reading A Girl's Guide to Vampires which is a screwball comedy with a little romance thrown in.

message 82: by Darcy (new)

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 704 comments I am going to start Black Ice (Ice, #1) by Anne Stuart which I decided to read from all the mention of it in this group.

message 83: by Barbara ★ (new)

Barbara ★ today I'm reading Touched by Light.

message 84: by Carolyn F. (new)

Carolyn F. Finished A Girl's Guide to Vampires, very funny book. I'm now reading Flirt.

message 85: by [deleted user] (new)

I am reading After the Kiss right now, so far so good!

DarkHeart "Vehngeance" (darkheart) I'm back on a Dangerous Hero book, having started Street Game. Gotta love an alpha Ghostwalker.

message 87: by Jaime (new)

Jaime Rush (jaime_rush) | 59 comments I'm reading Gabriel's Ghost by Linnea Sinclair. It's sci-fi romance, lots of action and definitely a bad boy hero. Even though I don't read sci-fi, I'm really enjoying it! Gabriel's Ghost (Dock Five Universe, #1) by Linnea Sinclair

message 88: by Carolyn F. (new)

Carolyn F. I finished Flirt, Blood Magic, and Simply Magic. All good books. I'm now reading Shift.

What do you think of Mack, DarkHeart? He's pretty macho, IMHO.

message 90: by Carolyn F. (new)

Carolyn F. I don't think there was a Mack in my books. I'm trying to remember.

message 91: by Michelle (new)

Michelle Gilmore | 151 comments I started Wild Card by Lora Leigh, and Lover Eternal by JR Ward. So far I've finding that Wild Card is a little easier to get into.

That is a good one.

I am reading
Jacob's Faith by Lora Leigh, ya gotta love those breeds!!

message 96: by Carolyn F. (new)

Carolyn F. I finished The Protector, medieval knight say no more. Now I'm reading My Immortal, and so far the hero is kind of weak to me.

message 97: by Danielle The Book Huntress , Loves 'Em Lethal (new)

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 9851 comments Mod
The Protector was good. I heard My Immortal was very bad.

message 98: by Darcy (new)

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 704 comments I didn't mind My Immortal. He is a little more of a pansy, whinny about a choice he made and it didn't go the way he thought.

message 99: by Carolyn F. (new)

Carolyn F. I'm not liking it much so far Danielle, but I'm only on page 58.

I have it. I put it near the bottom of my pile. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Darcy. When I read it, I'll go in with limited expectations.
