Finished my 5th book for Group 3: Guilty Pleasures, picked by KellyJo. I've been wanting to read this series and needed to re-read this one to refresh myself. Thanks for the pick! Gave it 4 stars. I've heard all sorts of mixed reviews about this series and hope I prove an exception to the "why am I reading this" when it comes to the later part of the series as I really liked this one. Little creepy, but the humor in it balanced it well.

i've been doing horribly this round; mostly because i keep getting distracted by shiny objects. (like reading an entire series instead of just one book from it.)jane(ps) - Latakia i'm not quite sure how i feel about this one, since the writing style didn't completely gel for me, but i liked the story and the characters. i ended up giving it 4 stars.
mountainkat - Hot Finish i didn't like this one as much as i liked the previous two, mostly because the editing wasn't the best. the characters kind of talked like yoda....whenever they bothered to talk. i don't like stories where the main "conflict" could be solved by sitting down and talking for ten minutes. (i did, however, read the next one in the series and liked it better.) 2.5 stars
breann - Collusion i really liked this one and read the next two in the series, mostly because i thought it ended at book four. boy, was i both pleasantly and unpleasantly (i want more, right here, right now!) surprised to find out that the series is continuing on. 4 stars
jane(ps) - Carry the Ocean this was SO well done. two separate voices with their own issues, and it felt realistic and authentic. i can't wait to read more in the series. heidi cullinan has continued to impress me with the fact that every character in each of her books is not just the same person repeated over and over. (i love you, nora roberts, but if i read too many in a row, i get overloaded.) 5 stars
shelby - The Two Gentlemen of Altona I finished this one and immediately read the other two in the series. (see? series are the bane of my reading progress this time around.) lisa henry is fast becoming an auto-buy for me. 4 stars.
so, i need to read three more books to read the minimum requirement for this challenge. (unfortunately, i read three bonus books.) i can probably do that by the end of the month. i just need to choose to read books that aren't in a series. :-D
I'm done with my 11th pick - Too Hot to Hold by Stephanie Tyler. It wasn't as good as the first book in the series but I'm glad I read it. I have a serious problem with keeping on with the series I read. So thanks, Sadie.

books 5 and 6 completeBehind Closed Doors - recommended by KathyD - I think I bought this book not long after I first got my kindle, when I went through a whole RomSus stage - I liked it but didn't love it - the mystery/suspense element was good, but found that she jumped into bed with the hero WAYYYY to soon - but that being said, I'm intrigued enough that I think I want to continue the series - 3 stars
Crux - recommended by Ezi - I think this series has potential, but the world building left a lot to be desired - there was no real explanation of how shifters and other beings came to be etc - the romance element was HAWT, but the rest was only ok - 2.5 stars, rounding up to 3

I have finished my 12th book - Then Comes Seduction by Mary Balogh, picked by Becky. I do really enjoyed it. It was such a nice and sweet story.

It's a good series, some stories are longer than others and the people pop up through out the series which makes it interesting because you see the progression of the relationships.
so i'm an idiot! I read Three to Ride over the weekend and was all excited to mark it off my list, except that I wasn't recommended it - i was recommended Desire for Three...yep, i'm an idiot!

2 more books finished Gaming for Keeps - recommended by KathyD - i'm totally not a gamer, so my understanding of conventions like gamercon is almost nonexistent, but the author made me feel like i was there and the intrigue of the mystery was good (even if it did tie up too quickly). I already have book 2 on the pile and hope to read it soon - 3.5 stars
Fair Play - recommended by Jane(PS) - oh holy hell, i think i need a bucket of ice dumped over my head to cool me down after reading this - it had to have one of the hottest scenes i've ever read - (view spoiler) - i must buy the next two books in the trilogy to finish out this series like NOW - 4 stars

So, to be fair, this was more like a 3.5-star book...but the final chapters pushed me toward the 4-star rating. I had a difficult time connecting with the Dev and Katya...that was my overall issue with this book. I wasn't invested enough, until the end, to care about them or their story. In terms of continuing the Psy-Changeling saga---this book was a solid 4.5 stars! This world is amazing! I've read a few books where there is political strife...those books would just drone on...but this series has a, for lack of a better term, human aspect--as heart. Not my favorite book in this series, but dying to jump into the next books to see where things go for characters new and old!

Oh those darn MacKeltars! I really love reading the books in this series...I feel like I'm getting a slice of history with a fun love story entwined. Also, it was fun to see how the story meshed with the previous book....the story was fairly seamless and I appreciated it!

What an awesome book from start to finish! I've enjoyed getting into Ms. Cole's Immortals After Dark series. Although it's not a paranormal story, it's well executed. Aleksei is an intense enforcer, but damn he is H-O-T. Looking forward to getting to know is brother in the next installment.

For the most part, I really loved this book. I appreciated that while there was instant attraction between Rylee and Colton, they didn't fall into bed two seconds later. There was some build up....which made the main event even hotter! This book had such a blunt ending. I have no problem with cliffhangers, but I can't think of a word to describe this ending other than blunt. Definitely ready to start Fueled and hope there is a less blunt ending.

This was a hot book! I loved getting to know the members of Sinners. The relationship between Brian and Myrna seemed a bit stilted...I liked the dynamics of the group and look forward to what the Sinners are up to next!

This book was hot from the very start to the very end! I thought the story had a great balance of angst and growing between the characters. Elisabeth was kind of a jerk in the previous book...and very one dimensional...this book gave her a chance to redeem herself and show a much more well-rounded character. Gavin's character had a chance to shine away from the spotlight of his big brother, Mick. Though I must say...he's kind of a dumb ass...I can't believe it took him so long to put everything together! So far I'm really liking this series. It's a great mix with romance and sports...looking really forward to Jenna's story!

I wasn't as sucked in to this book as I was the first. That's not to say I didn't like it quite a bit. I think it worked well to continue building the series, as well as supporting the story lines that are already established. I really liked Cam, but Jo and her issues became a huge stumbling block. Still a good story, just looking forward to the next.

The Prince — ★★★★★ 6/12
W-O-W! For the most part, this book was a mindf**k...I loved getting an in depth look into Soren's and Kingsleys relationship. Getting to know each man better both in their past and present was a treat! I'm still not really clear on why Soren needs to break his partners, but in the end, it doesn't really matter. I loved having Wesley back! I missed him in The Angel...he is such an awesome character...and in many ways acts more the 34-year-old man while Nora seems more the 20-year-old girl. I do have to say, I've read these past three books over an extended period of time, but with the ending Ms. Reisz gave this book, I will NOT be putting The Mistress off for long!

This book surprised me...from the blurb, I expected to see more of Alexa's life with her duplicitous father. That's not to say I didn't enjoy how the story was laid out and progressed. Alexa's character is strong and compassionate; she stood her ground well against Caine who did everything in his power to be a Grade A D*ck! Surprisingly, I did like Caine...his struggles and triumphs seemed so hard fought, it was difficult not the feel his anger, rage, and white-hot lust. My only real issue with this book is that it seemed to drag in some parts...just enough areas that it detracted a bit from the book for me...but Samantha Young continues to be a favorite author I'm getting to know!

Dangerous Games — ★★★★ 6/16
This book started at a dead run and didn't stop until the very end! I really liked getting to know Clint and Morganna. I had a hint at Morganna's personality in Reno's Chance...but it was so much fun seeing her firecracker personality light up the pages of this book! Clint, for the most part, was too much the "Iceman" for me. He obviously cares for Morganna, but spends way too much time trying to be the overprotective big brother....didn't he learn anything from Reno? There was some story crossover from Leigh's Elite Ops series, but nothing that deters from this story/series.

I am disappointed that I didn't enjoy this book. So far, I've loved the Fast Track series, but this one was missing something. First, it was missing a decent heroine. I get that Kendall has it rough being a driver in a man's racing world, but if that chip got any bigger... As for Evan, I've liked his easy-going personality from the previous books and he didn't disappoint in this one either. I like that we got to see his flaws, but also see him shine!

Maverick — ★★★★ 7/17
This was a good follow up to Wild Card. I really love Micah. Such a hot, bad-ass super spy! Rissa was a little more difficult to like....it wasn't the ordeal she went through...she seemed to be portrayed accurately for what she went through, but there was just something missing for me. Together, these two were OK...I'm hoping to see them in future stories to see how their relationship grows.

Rock Chick Redemption — ★★★★★ 6/4
OMG...This book was hysterical! I swear I almost peed my pants I was laughing so hard a few times...people trudging through gridlock probably thought I was nuts as I was laughing! I didn't have much interest either way in Hank, but he squirmed his way into my heart! Roxie is a great addition to the Rock Chicks...and I loved that we got to know Tex better...he's a nut job, but I love him...he has such a great heart! Just can't say it enough...I loved this book!

Obsession — ★★★ 6/13
I really wanted to love this book...I've had it on my to-read list for a long time...the general story worked really well for me...the execution didn't work for me. I felt like the story was missing huge chunks of connective text. I had a hard time connecting to Gabriel and Noelle...they were interesting characters, but because I felt there was so much missing, I couldn't really "get" them. The last few chapters were wonderful and very powerful! I will probably go on to read the next book in the series, but I'm not gun-ho just yet.
