TART Challenge - Round 4 - Have Book...Can Travel (3)

Now, I can do that, but trying to actively keep up with multiple books usually gets me confused. LOL, I guess my brain just doesn't work that way!

Was that your first read of outlander? I read it when I was 15 and have loved it ever since. Can’t wait for book 9 coming In November!

Task 13 - 52. Read 6 books with the same color cover, teams decide color.
As a team select a color, then read 6 books with covers that are primarily the selected color. Books selected need to be clearly and obviously the selected color! You can use any edition’s cover to qualify. Please include the chosen color and the qualifying cover in your completion posts.

For the Love of Friends by Sara Goodman Confino

Review: For the Love of Friends is described as sharp and hilarious.
The thing about being single in your early 30s is that everyone around you—family, friends, etc.—is getting married. And while that's all well and good in theory, Lily suddenly finds herself as a bridesmaid for five weddings in six weeks.
It is a lot to handle—her friends are turning into demanding monsters, Lily is constantly being shamed and criticized and judged, the expense of being a bridesmaid FIVE TIMES is killing her, her friends are ridiculous, and unrealistic. She canteen figure out what she wants from her own love life. So she does what anyone else would do—she creates an anonymous blog and vents online.
I loved the body positivity in this a lot. And I wouldn't say I liked the way, so many others were approaching it.
This book has so much wedding drama, snark, heart, and romance. I adored Alex - he was just such a kind-hearted, good guy. Their romance was sweet, and I wish we had even more of it.

sounds good Avigail!

Ok so this was downright filthy! I wasn't expecting it but loved every second of it! Seriously, Finn had me in a puddle of goo by the end of the book. His dirty talk, his deliciously dominant demeanor in bed...yeah, it totally worked for me.
The banter between Harlow and Finn was great. Their fighting was nothing more than foreplay. And the way they fell for each other was sweet despite all the obstacles they had to overcome.
And yes, they both screwed up but I loved the way it worked out in the end. I wasn't happy that we didn't get more of an epilogue which is why it's not a full 5 stars, but other than that, I really thought the book was pretty perfect.
Add in the fact that Ansel and Mia as well Lola and Oliver were there. I was pleased as punch! Also, Finn's brothers need to have books as well because they were quite the characters!
The narration was great. And really it all just came together for me. Loved it from beginning to end!

The Strawberry Hearts Diner by Carolyn Brown

Pages: 288
How it fits: The color we chose as a team is red
Date completed: October 16, 2021
Rating: 5 ⭐
Review: Carolyn Brown is an author that writes small town, close-door romances. The Strawberry Hearts Diner is one of those sweet romances. I enjoyed reading it very much. All of the characters are very loveable, and at some point, can be reflective.
This story shows yes, we have a blood family, but sometimes the adoptive family can bring more potential.
The Strawberry Hearts Diner is about strong women. The wise Nettie, who was the mother to Vicky; Vicky raising Emily as a single parent wanting the best for her daughter; Emily wishing to be the pleaser but also wanting to be herself and guide her life in the direction she thinks is best; and Jancy, the girl who moved around a lot and never felt adequate. The author writes a story about family, growth, acceptance, and love. There is no cliffhanger, but I hope another book explores Vicky's upcoming new life and the changes in store for Emily and Jancy.
This book fulfills two of my reading challenges.

You are a fast reader. Can wait to see what is your second book, Sass.

It is a sweet close door romance but has backstories of all of the characters. I would like to have more books with the same protagonists; there is more to their stories.

Fierce Enchantment, Carrie Ann Ryan – 10/16/21 – ✮✮✮✮✰

Review — This was a pretty strong installment in the Dante’s Circle series. I wish we knew more about Faith’s past, but there was enough to understand why she is the way she is. Levi brings the wizarding world into the mix. For the most part, there wasn’t too much drama, but what drama there was made sense. It was nice to see the other couples, but there wasn’t much interaction with them. I’m looking forward to Amara’s book, which is next...Seth and Tristan seem to be interesting matches for the level-headed lightening-struck woman.

Review: I really enjoy this series and need to get to the next book sooner. Kaderin the cold hearted, vampire slayer meets a vampire she can’t slay and he decides she is his bride. She isn’t happy about it as her family will disown her plus she isn’t so cold hearted anymore. This was a great story of Sebastian being determined to win Kaderin over by helping her complete trails in the Hie and Kaderin slowly changing her mind about him.

I've definitely liked the books I've read in the series, but I haven't gotten that far with it. I'm glad you liked that one!

This had so much potential....I was sad that it didn't reach that potential!
One of things that really made me mad was the fact that the heroine made a big deal about telling her best friend her feelings in a letter and come to find out he didn't even know who she was because she didn't sign her name!!!
Then of course you know that they had to hook up because where would the book be without it, right? Anyway, it was lovely and then it just imploded with lots of is this going to change things, let's pretend like nothing happened, but we know that's not possible.
I actually liked the characters for the most part. I liked their shared history, but the execution just wasn't there. Also, the female narrator didn't do a great male voice.
*sigh* I wanted to like this one more than I did, but there were just too many things about it that irritated me.

Task 13 Completion

What's everyone doing for the weekend? I know Hazel had to get her car serviced. I'm being mom taxi with football games and homecoming dress shopping with my daughter. What about everyone else?

She's 14 going on 40! LOL
First year in high school (year 9 - I forget what it's called other places besides the US-- it is college?) Anyway, she's always been such a tomboy and now she's wanting to go to dances and wear pretty dresses. It's unbelievable.
We found it. She wanted something modest (thank goodness) but it's cute and flattering to her figure but it's not something I have to hide from my husband. LOL She looks adorable. Anyway, a bunch of her girlfriends are going together and she's so looking forward to it.

Girls clothing that age can be hit or miss - frumpy or slutty well in the UK anyway. Sometimes it’s difficult to get an in between just nice dress suitable for their age. The mums of the girls for the Primary 7 prom were tearing their hair out with length and style of top on the dresses. I was happy my son just wanted to wear a tux like James Bond 😂

It's so much easier with boys, Hazel! But, I'm happy that my daughter found something that she likes and is modest enough not have her dad's head explode! Now all is left is to find shoes...

This is correct, I am a midwife and we still haven't had a baby yet! She has been doing false labor (maybe pre-labor?) which is not normal for first baby. It's keeping us on our toes. Fortunately for me, she is a neighbor so I'm not driving far.
Though, I am hoping for one more grandchild! My son and DIL are planning on one more, but they just moved across the country and started new jobs so it could be a while.

Task 14 - 90. Each member reads a book published in sequential months, i.e. June, July, August and September 2019. Teams decide which months. No pass for this task.
Books selected for this task need to be published in sequential months. The months can cross over from the end of one year to the beginning of the next. You will be using the initial publication date for this task. If there is a date at the top of the editions page, use it. Otherwise I will be looking for the earliest dated English language edition regardless of format for the qualification. Please include the selected dates in your completion posts.

I have a hard time reading multiple books at once. How do you do it, Avigail? I usually end up getting engrossed in one and then finishing it. LOL
