Review — This was a quick, sweet holiday read. While it was fairly predictable, I enjoyed the banter between Pippa and Lucas.

Ok, I won't read the third book. Thanks for telling me.
Kathy, take your time.

Review: This book dragged for me. It was very wordy and I didn’t really identify with the characters. Andrew travels to find a bird for his sisters Christmas and is shocked on his journey to find a lady walking with her hair unbound. The story continues this way with Andrew being uptight and bound by tradition and Lucy (who is the daughter of the man Andrew is wanting to buy a bird from) challenges him with her unconventional manner. Not a lot of excitement!

Review — I didn’t like this one as much as the previous book. Natalie is a brat and Christian comes off as too entitled and good for Natalie. Both of these characters are shallow and by the time they start to be better developed, the book ended. Also, while it is a book set during the Christmas season, very little is mentioned about the holiday. I preferred the previous book with Pippa’s stories about her memories during the season and the connection her parents had that began during the holidays.

Sass it was so boring! When i read some of the other reviews after they were all praising it because it didn't have a lot of sex but i like some steaminess in my books! At least it was free.
I don't really read Christmas or holiday type books as i haven't found many that I've actually liked.

sometimes I get surprised but usually it's just not for me.
But I'm sorry it was boring. I had some boring ones lately too!
But I try to find kinky holiday stories and those are usually entertaining !.
Have you read The Stocking was Hung. That series is silly and absurd but a whole lot of fun!

I like some books without the steam but the plot has to be on point. Otherwise they definitely bore me.
I've added your series to my TBR because I liked your reviews, Avigail!

Sounds good. I have scribd so that works! I'll let you know when I read them! I may need them for a task that may come up anyway.

that looked like such a fun book, but it wasn't long enough for this challenge! =)

I wish they had been long enough because I would have been all over those.

Task 16 - 107. Read 8 books published in the month (not year) of a teammate's birth. Team selects teammate.
Select one teammate and read 8 books initially published in the month of their birth, this is a team decision. Make sure to use the initial publication date for this task. If there is a date listed at the top of the editions page use it, otherwise I will be looking for the earliest dated English language edition regardless of format for the qualification. Please include the selected teammate and their birth month in your completion posts.

Avigail: December
Hazel: November
Kathy: August

thanks Hazel! that's what I thought from another discussion, but I wasn't sure

you guys don't have to do that...things are calming down, except work, but that's because fall is our busiest time...as for which month, I found a couple February and August that will work, but I'm sure I can Nov/Dec if I look a bit more. =)

This was cute. I feel like even though they had their cards stacked against them, I didn't like that Bryan made decisions for both of them just because he thought he knew best.
However, it was definitely water under the bridge by the time they met up again. I wish he had just talked to her from the beginning to clear the air and things would have been better.
However, that would have been a very short book! I really liked the way these two really got each other and I'm a sucker for second chance romances.
The conflict was resolved quickly and everything was neatly tied up. I wasn't gaga over this but I did enjoy it. I liked the narrators too so that added a nice element to the story, especially during the text messaging scenes where each narrator was providing their voices for their respective characters.

Review — I really hate giving 1-star ratings, but this book just did nothing for me. The plot has been done before and much more successfully. Ally is a naive woman who thinks breaking a big story will make it a cake walk to choosing any journalism position she wants. However, she admits to not liking the spotlight. Not sure how that works in her world. Colton is an alpha male, but he’s a jerk also. I did not believe these two had any chemistry beyond lust...maybe...and even that seems to be a second thought to Ally and an obsession for Colton. I really don’t even care that this is supposed to be the “tamest” of the books in this series, because I have no desire to rejoin these characters.

How's everyone else doing? Would you like me to do a third book?

This was a good start. With as short as it was, it really shouldn't have been a separate book, but I get it for free on scribd so I'm not as mad about that as I would be if I had to purchase the audio.
And the audio was awesome. I love listening to Shane East talk dirty to me in that sexy as hell British accent.
There's not much to say about the story because it had really just begun when the book ended but I liked the fact that Audrey was up front with herself in the fact that she may have a "daddy kink". I think it's awesome to be that secure with yourself at such a young age.
Daddy kink isn't my cuppa but it wasn't overwhelming in the story (thus far), so it wasn't a turn off.
I will continue with the duet at some point to see how they navigate their (what I'm sure is going to be a) sticky relationship.

Summer Hours at the Robbers Library by Sue Halpern

Review: When I heard the summary of Summer Hours at the Robbers Library, I thought it a fantastic idea. The truth isn't my cup of tea, and I feel that many plots are combined. There were times it felt sluggish. Thank God I listened to the audiobook through the Scribd app; otherwise, I don't know how to conclude the book.
The novel is told in alternating viewpoints as each of the three central characters reveals their back story and experiences in the current time. The first time there was a "flashback," it caught me off guard, but I quickly grew used to the style.
The audiobook is preforming by a trio of talented voice artists, each voicing one of the central characters, and it is very effective for the changing viewpoints in the narrative.
