Task 8 - 55. Read 6 books set in the same country outside the US, teams decide country.Book:
Pages: 312
Read:6 October
Rating: 4 ⭐
How it qualifies: Set in England - From precis 'Armed with her best friend and a bottle of tequila, she hops a plane to London to drown her sorrows before fall semester begins at Whitman University.'
Review: I enjoyed this second chance romance between Remi and Dax. I thought Remi was a bit of a twit taking the man who dumped her 2 weeks before her wedding back after the emotional pain and financial hits she took. The fact that she admitted that she thought she was settling annoyed me when obviously there was something there between her and Dax. The chemistry and tension between the 2 of them was apparent and sometimes i just thought get on with it. Overall a good read but maybe not as good as the first one.

Haha he’s fine just sore when he moves his arm certain ways. I had to help him print health and safety forms out and then scan them as he couldn’t work the printer - which was nothing to do with his arm! He can do most things but is enjoying me running about after him! Just little things like ironing him different tops that won’t rub against it and helping him change dressings.

I am sure you got a fright. About the reading challenges, we are a team, and we can help one the other. In my opinion, we are here to help in case of an emergency, like the one you had.
I'm sure he is milking it for all it's worth. HAHAHA. But seriously, I'm so glad he wasn't more seriously injured. The whole thing sounds pretty scary.

I was scared when he phoned me from hospital and there was no point in me going as they are not letting others in. It is about 3cm long but it’s really deep but I had pictured his whole arm having been severed! He was back at the site after having been stitched up and back the next day mostly going through all the H+S requirements. Today he is back working away in his home office keeping out of trouble. My son text me yesterday to say a girl at school from his class (age 12) was trying to kill herself. She had taken a big kitchen knife into school and was threatening to put it through her stomach and was waving it at anyone who came near her. Terrifying to hear this as a parent but that the girl obviously crying out for help. This is totally unheard of in our area as it’s quite a posh area and school but just shows that no matter where you’re from you can have issues.
A couple of days of drama! Hoping we have some calm now.
Oh wow. That's sad to hear about your son's classmate! But yes, mental health issues don't discriminate!!! I hope she's able to get the help that she needs. How is your son holding up with having to experience that kind of drama?
He was a bit shocked but said he was fine and carried on as normal. He just said he hopes she gets help.I tried to talk to him more before bed last night but he said he was good. They all got spoken to by the head teacher and offered support if they needed it. I think i was more shaken up about it than him to be honest.
I feel I have to say my life is usually really boring - work, taxi son to school and football, housework and reading. The last 2 days have not been normal 😂
Hazel wrote: "I feel I have to say my life is usually really boring - work, taxi son to school and football, housework and reading. The last 2 days have not been normal 😂"it happens that way sometimes!
Universe has its way of changing our journey; we need to learn to embrace and remember what is essential in life. If our families and we are healthy with all the craziness in the world, all the other things will get their way.
Wow, some drama here. Sounds like things are ok now - I'm so glad for that! Here is your next task!
Task 9 - 51. Each teammate reads a different book by the same author, no pass for this task.
As a team select an author and everyone read a different book by the author. Make sure you don't select the same books!
Well, sorry for the miss understanding you are that we chose Lauren Blakely I mixed up the threads of our tasks. As we have to read different books by Lauren Blakely I decided to pick The Virgin Rule Book

Review — It pains me to rate a Lauren Blakely book so low, but this one just didn’t do anything for me. It may be because there wasn’t much character or story building. It’s a very sweet story, but it is also way too predictable. Considering how many books I’ve read by this author, I’m sure I’ll bounce back from this lackluster one.

Review: This was a great friends to lovers sports romance. I really enjoyed Violet and Coopers relationship and how it developed. My terrible sense of humour loved the joke about the moon rock and the Earth rock. I liked Cooper and Violet individually as well as together. Definitely want to read more of this series.

I really loved this frenimies to lovers story. Piper and Zach's story unfolded so well. I loved how there weren't any miscommunications (except when Zach was being totally clueless that one time) and how seriously they took the issues surrounding Zach being a single parent and having kids who already lost someone they loved.
And there were just some times when the story made my heart ache and others when it was just so hot I couldn't stand it.
And to be honest, I just loved every second of this story!!!

Review: The Virgin Rule Book is a sweet friend romance, as well as a sports romance.
Crosby and Nadia have a spark that just got me in the heart from the very beginning. Their friendship and knowledge made their connection that much more heartfelt when they added a little sexy-sexy.
I think that Lauren Blakely took a big innovative chance not to put a conflict between our two main protagonists.
The side characters also are very loveable and very approachable.
I know that I will continue with the series, and I will read Lauren Blakely's other books in the future.
The audiobook is good, and it had excerpts from other books that I think will be good as well.
Sorry it took me so long to finish the book. Fridays and Saturdays are the weekends in Israel. I don't work on Fridays, but today there was a crisis that I had to work, at least it was from home. While I was working, I listened to the remaining audiobook.

Yes, I was 7 hours across my computer and talking with the managers of my division. My direct manager is on a business trip and asked if I could work from home. The truth is fulfilling to bring back 29 coworkers after not working for a year and a half due to Covid-19.

Yes, the situation with the Israeli airlines and tourist departments in Israel is pretty bad. Let's hope for better days around the world.
