I agree on this. Also the Carl Barks books that are being published are also a good companion for this collection.

I have a half dozen of these and they are very nice. However, they were written for a younger audience and I find I enjoy them less than Rosa's work because of that. It is interesting that the Duck comic universe is so much more popular in Europe than in America. Don Rosa gets mobbed at comic conventions in Europe and his table is very quiet in the US and most folks don't know who he is.

Yeah I can confirm this. Disney comics in general are the best seller comics of them all in Europe and especially in the northern part. Superhero comics doesn't come close, they might sell about 10% at best of what Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse comics does.

Hopefully the variant shows up as well.

Book arrived today, cover not too bad (corners surprisingly sharp), dust jacket's got some curled/folded edges (pics might've deliberately hid a trouble spot), and binding feels a little loose. Paid about $220 for it, was happy with the price, but biggest problem: seller sent it to me in a bubble mailer with no additional protection. Amazed it's in the condition it's in, all things considered.
Sent the seller a message on ebay explaining why I wasn't going to leave positive feedback and I thought I was polite yet straightforward. But man, he sent a pretty insulting reply, said I should stop displaying my books and just read them and called me a pain in the ass. He also had to pay an extra $3 for shipping than what he quoted, guess I should appreciate his generosity, and implied that justified use of the mailer rather than a box...
Anyway...added Marvel's Annihilation Omi!

@noel - definitely not cool and certainly not a way to sway you back to a positive review. But at least you have a copy now
Sending an omnibus in a bubble mailer, wow. Not cool. Glad it made it to you as well as it did.
I just bought another copy of the Parker Martini Edition to give as a Christmas gift. It arrived in a box with just a couple of crumpled pieces of copy paper on one side to keep it from flying around. Not great packing but at least they used a box.

Yeah, glad I’ve got a copy now too! Looking forward to November and getting back on track with my regular buying habits.
Whenever I buy a book off Ebay I immediately send a message about shipping and packing expectation. It’s a nice friendly message, but it gets the point across and provides a little extra if needing to return or make a claim. Noel if that was me, I’d return that book.

Trying to describe the biggest concern I have, about how the binding feels "loose", but thought I'd just make a video showing the "wiggle" I can do:
https://youtu.be/TeFxU67eisM
I used to be a teacher, and it just reminds me of the books I'd get back at the end of the year that I knew eventually the cover would tear away after a few more years. I don't plan on shoving this in my locker or backpack and dropping it all over the place, though, so I'll live and don't plan on returning it (plus no returns and I feel that the buyer protection total refund is going too far). No pages are falling out, nothing is separated, just my books bought new are much tighter and don't do that "wiggle" without significantly more resistance.
In movie news, it's being reported Marvel Studios is developing a Dark Avengers film based on the Bendis story.
Eric Powell is going to be writing a new Goon story next year and it will not be published by Dark Horse. The 3rd Goon Library Edition is out of print and fairly expensive. There are indications vol 2 may be headed out of print as well. With him working with another company folks are speculating that this is confirmation we won't see a reprint any time soon for the Library Editions.
Marvel comics will have a weekly Uncanny X-Men series and a weekly Daredevil series.
I hope we see a Soule Daredevil oversized collection, mostly so I can get Garney's art in that format. :)

I know this is a forum for books, but the worst packing story I ever heard was for a Bowen Apocalypse Statue (I know Blind and Red saw this one on another forum). Statue came without original box and was put in a giant oversized box with a unraveled sleeping bag for stuffing. Pics shows had the statue broken in several pieces.

IST is having a sale over the weekend (appears to have started already) with 3% off on many Marvel and DC books.
I ordered the Red Hood and the Outlaws omnibus at 53% off as it's unlikely to be cheaper. Also ordered the Batman White Knight TPB since I think there is a decent chance it will be over a year before we might see an omnibus/Absolute with a second series coming but not solicited yet.

That is an excellent deal. :) The Jim Lee art in the story is very nice.

Colossal Conan the Cimmerian
Elric Ruby Throne DLX HC
Exterminator 17 HC
Frankenstein HC Junji Ito Story Collection
Green Arrow Rebirth DLX vol 1

After seeing a picture of how big the "Behold...Galactus" book was, I decided to get it. Also, taking advantage of the 3% sale this weekend I got Kraven's Last Hunt. However, I was $0.51 short of free shipping so added Invincible V7.
IST PLEASE PLEASE update your solicits. I feel like over the past two months there have been 3+ weeks of looking forward to something and then . . . Nope wait a few more weeks.

Agreed.
It also appears Conan and BPRD Hell on Earth vol 3 has been moved. Conan likely next week based on Amazon's projected release of 30 Oct 18.

Update on Conan The Cimmerian, other people online are saying IST did have the book in stock today and it sold out. Instock has confirmed they should be getting more in a week or two.
I was on the site pretty soon after the update happened today and it showed as non-available. So it must have sold out quickly.
To be on the safe side I went ahead and per-ordered a copy on Amazon.

Just added a sealed copy of Annihilation Conquest to my collection (good seller on eBay this time!), as well as two comics to display with the following signatures:
Art Adams, Len Wein, Jim Lee, Jim Steranko, Roy Thomas, Chris Claremont, Joe Sinnott, Scott Lobdell, Tom Palmer, and John Romita, Jr.

Haha it'd be a long game with no obvious answer. Signature collector purists might want to look away...
When I collect, it's only for me, not for making a profit down the line, so I'm ok with an uninvolved creator's sig. I have signatures in mind that I want to collect, and I start looking for covers I love or catch my eye and don't break the bank. Right now I'm looking at prolific X-artists and those involved in the creation of Wolverine. Regardless of signature I'm aiming for, try to get the cover artist's sig. as well for some fidelity.
So I nabbed a copy of Years of Future Past #4, cover by Art Adams with his sig. but also includes the late Len Wein's sig. (central figure on cover is Wolverine).
Then X-Men Vol. 2 #1 with Jim Lee's and Chris Claremont's sig., but the rest were also on there as well, and I was especially happy that it included Roy Thomas, Joe Sinnott and Jim Steranko.
Like I said, purists might not like it, but it makes me happy.

Saigon Calling: London 1963-75
Such A Lovely Little War : Saigon 1961-1963
Grass Kings Vol. 1 - Book

Not got it yet, but love his other stuff. I think Dept. H is great!
I bought the first volume of Dept H and all the rest of the Kindt Mind MGMT books from someone for $35. Very reasonable for seven hardcovers.
My IST order last week was the Deadly Class DLX vol 2 and I ordered the two recent Black Bolt TPB volumes. I've heard a lot of good things about the story and want to check it out.

Complete Crimson came in. Amazon $37 shipped. Hands down best deal I’ve had. Very large thick and slipcase with a sticker price of $125 . . . No wonder Amazon tried to cancel my order twice.
Blindzider wrote: "I may give that black hammer a try. No deadly class variant?"
I think the Deadly Class variant will be available but it's not on IST's Coming Soon list.
The issue with the guessing game is that usually books come out a week earlier on IST than Amazon (who does usually update their release dates) but every once in a while it is two weeks earlier. All the books I noted as maybe coming later show release two weeks from now on amazon except Harrow County which comes towards the end of Nov.
Black Hammer is worth trying. I've been following the single issues. I just canceled starting January and will just pick up the Library Editions from here on out.
I would like to pick up Batman, Black Hammer, Black Max, Darth Vader, Hunt for Wolverine, and The Witcher.
Deathstoke down the line might be worthwhile.
I still need to read my Complete Crimson. Very nice book for the low price. :)

anyone read harrow county? Thoughts?
Here is a Harrow County TPB vol 1 review from a friend (Library Edition likely has at least the first two TPB volumes worth of material): https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Erik, If you are looking to spend a pretty penny Colossal Conan is great and expensive. The price hovers around $300 but someone spent $500 on a sealed copy recently.
Have you tried Usagi Yojimbo? I have all the signed hardcovers but the first very expensive one.
Lemire has a slipcase edition of Essex County. I haven't read it but it gets a lot of praise as one of his best works.
Craig Russell's The Ring of Nibelung HC has been on my want list for some time and the book just keeps getting more and more expensive (it's OOP). If you do a Google image search the art is pretty sweet.
The Prince Valiant slipcase is very nice but probably an IST buy vs Ebay.
Have you tried the Don Rosa Duck books? The first slipcase is OOP and expensive. These are very well drawn and the art is outstanding with all sorts of gags in the background you don't notice the first read through. I think the last slipcase (two volumes in each for a total of 5 slipcases) is getting ready to come out.
