Very busy is right... I'm in for East of West, Paper Girls, Super Sons, and Excalibur. Already have road to no mans land in trade, and without seeing the rest of it solicited anywhere, I'm hardpressed to jump on this Omni. Same with the JLA collection. I don't want to have the omni, plus the tpbs for the rest.

message 6607: by Darth Bane (new)

Darth Bane | 261 comments Word on the street the Silver Surfer omnibus reprint is also coming out this week. It's beginning to pop up in other places.

I’m probably going to hold off on East of west for now. Will Pick up Excalibur. I’m torn on JLA. Would rather it be the complete series not just Morrison’s stuff.

message 6609: by Alicia (new)

Alicia Riley | 129 comments Batman Nightwalker (graphic novel) by Marie Lu
(Also got novel version)

A Very DC Halloween by varios writers

DC Holiday Nigtmare Catalysmic Holiday Carols by vsrois writers

Forever People by Jack Kirby

Special edtion slip case Teen Titans Raven & Beast Boy by Kami Garcia & Gabriel Picolo

message 6610: by J (new)

J | 531 comments I'll be up for that Excalibur omni, but I have that JLA series in deluxe format already, and hate double dipping except on certain books. Same with the Super Sons; I love that book bit already have the first omni and all the trades so don't feel the need for this one.

I'll just pick up books off my wishlist. Surprisingly, some of these Marvel Horror and pre-FF omnis are selling out and I still need a couple.

message 6611: by Johnny (new)

Johnny | 573 comments Isn't the Batman Three Jokers HC just a standard size collection, not a Deluxe edition?

Johnny wrote: "Isn't the Batman Three Jokers HC just a standard size collection, not a Deluxe edition?"

Hmm. DC's website doesn't specifically say Deluxe, and they aren't in Diamond Previews anymore so no info there. Amazon makes it look like it is standard size but I don't really trust their dimensions.

Now I'm flipping back to getting that JLA Morrison Omnibus and going ahead and picking up the Waid Tower of Babel Deluxe, although there are still a couple issues that would still be missing. Which should be a moot point for me since I own all the single issues. Decisions, decisions...

Johnny wrote: "Isn't the Batman Three Jokers HC just a standard size collection, not a Deluxe edition?"

I'm not 100% sure - my understanding is that is a Black Label book and they initially stated all of those hardcovers will be the oversize editions. I see that it is the same cover price Harleen was so it's likely oversize like that one was.

It might be worth your while to pick up the volume one Venom OHC by Cates as a good lead up to the omnibus. I liked Absolute Carnage better than the War of the Realms event. Absolute Carnage is a lead up to Cates' The King in Black event coming soon. I've liked what I've read by Cates.

message 6617: by Jesse (new)

Jesse A (jaathey) | 332 comments got it. Venom 1 ordered. I liked the main War of the realms story. didn't manage to grab the omni on the first run so just waiting for the reprint.

Jeff | 209 comments Excalibur already out of stock on CGN. DM variant was out of stock at 7 this morning (sadly), but I managed to snag a regular copy.

message 6622: by noelbeast (new)

noelbeast | 489 comments Well the IST website didn’t update for me until 3:01, but got a copy of the Excalibur DM variant ordered in about 3 minutes. Hopefully everyone else gunning for a copy manages to get one!

Good luck!

It probably doesn’t work this way, but I’m in a low population area with a carrier tower right in my town, so I like to pretend I get a better connection than others. Managed to also get a PS5 on my mobile network back in September. Trade off for isolation, I suppose.

Is Rona still a thing?

I also got a DM cover of Excalibur Omnibus, DM variant cover of East of West Vol 3, and Papergirls DLX vol 3 (Christmas gift for someone).

I do want Road to No Man's Land and Super Sons but betting those will be available later. Too many books all at once and I suspect I'll want some books from next week (I think the next Berserk DLX will available next week).

message 6627: by Ryan (new)

Ryan | 146 comments Just ordered Excalibur Omni DM variant and Cruel Summer by Ed Brubaker. I’ve never read Excalibur but I’m collecting X-Men Omnis so what the hell. The DM cover looks fantastic.

message 6628: by Nate (new)

Nate Drake | 32 comments Does anyone know if the Sliver Surfer reprint is out already? I saw it on CGN but it's out of stock. Wondering if Amazon would ship the new version and not the one with the errors

message 6629: by Ryan (new)

Ryan | 146 comments I saw Silver Surfer in stock last night on CGN but it was sold out very quickly, as well as Excalibur DM. It did specify new printing though.

message 6633: by Jeff (new)

Jeff | 209 comments Bit the bullet... Ordered a DM variant of Excalibur from IST. I didn't see it earlier and FOMO got me, so I ordered the regular cover from CGN. Oh well. I'll probably just sell the regular cover when it comes in. If it's flying this fast, hopefully I can turn a little profit.

message 6634: by Ryan (new)

Ryan | 146 comments That’s funny Jeff, I completely bought it from FOMO too, which I like to say I won’t do. The nice part is you can always sell these things for at least around the price that you paid for them.

message 6635: by J (new)

J | 531 comments Had no problem getting the regular cover of Excalibur. Also grabbed the Three Jokers book, a Daredevil trade, and a Betty and Veronica classic collection (LOL). Have to admit I love those old Archie Comics!

FYI on IST the DM variant of East of West that I put in the wishlist oh so long ago, did not show up as available, but I was able to throw it in the cart from the New Releases. As such, don’t solely rely on your wishlist for availability.

Today was a big order for me $300+, but it felt really good. It felt to me as this was the first week since books got pushed around from Covid, that everything was normal; meaning: books that were suppose to drop did, they didn’t run out, and the selection was large.

Placed my orders well after 4 and all still available.

I’m still waiting on some large DCBS orders but I’m going to do another big preorder when December hits and then see how they fill out delivery.

I'm one of the few that purposely ordered the Excalibur regular cover I guess. Also bought the JLA Omni. Will probably order the East of West Exclusive next week.

I grabbed the JLA too. I like DM variants but was on the fence with Excalibur. When New Mutants Omni comes out soon, I’ll be going regular on that one for sure.

message 6639: by Tigertemprr (new)

Tigertemprr | 54 comments I got 1 of each Excalibur cover (I'll decide which one I'm keeping when they get here lol) and the JLA Morrison Omnibus. Hoping the rest will stick around for a few weeks... Definitely picking up East of West 3 and Paper Girls 3 at some point.

Road to No Man's Land was tempting, but I really just want a No Man's Land omnibus. The prelude material doesn't seem "essential" and of the same quality/acclaim as NML. Super Sons is also another maybe.

Did Criminal Deluxe v3 and JLI Omnibus v2 not release today?

message 6640: by noelbeast (new)

noelbeast | 489 comments I usually prefer an original comic cover for most omnis, especially when it’s older stuff collected and we’re talking a well-known artist. Usually not a fan of iconic covers redone by more modern artists; just never see the appeal, but to each his/her own.

For the Excalibur omni, Davis artwork for each and I would’ve been happy with either, but the DM just wouldn’t let go of my eye. Hopefully the British don’t mind some of my beloved mutants bursting through their flag.

message 6641: by Blindzider, Moderator (new)

Blindzider | 3293 comments Mod
I feel the same noelbeast, which is primarily why I picked the first issue cover. I’m a big fan of Davis so either would have been ok.

For New Mutants I’ll definitely be trying for the Sienkievicz cover regardless. He’s really the main reason I’m picking it up. I only have a few of those original issues left in my possession.

I'm very excited for the New Mutants omni. I have the 7 volume trade collection, but finally upgrading to a hardcover is a must for me. I've been slowly collecting all X-Men in omni/OHC. Just need X-Factor to get collected!

I just thought Gotham by Gaslight was ok. After reading the DLX I was happy with just having it versus an Absolute. I think I had it built up in my mind with too high expectations for it. The Bowen statue may have helped elevate my expectations. =)
