I have scheduled to read The Valley of Secrets by Charmain Hussey and Young Joan by Barbara Dana.
I can't help you with Q and X. I need a Z.
If you click the title at the top of the thread ( GMGR Challenges) you can get to the list of posts in this section. There are suggestions for several of the tricky letters.
Why did I *ever* think J was a difficult letter? This month, I'm attempting to read the entire Junie B. Jones series. That means J x 28. XD
Sarakat, I was browsing for As and noticed you'd put A Long Walk to Water there instead of L (which you need!)

I shouldn't ask this, because I have too many books I want to read already, but what are your top 3-5 books, Carmel?

The Deepest Breath because it is so beautifully written and reassuring. The main character is questioning her sexuality and the issue is dealt with in an age appropriate way - wish I had access to a book like this when I was in 6th grade.
Lark was winner of this year's Carnegie Medal (very well deserved). It is a very special, beautifully written story of survival in harsh conditions with realistic, amazing characters. It is short and a real page turner and one that will be devoured by many, including reluctant readers.
I'd highly recommend any of the titles on my list that I've rated with 5 stars.

I read Boy X last year and enjoyed it.

Thank you, Jemima. I found the audiobook for Boy X and it feels like it will be exactly what I was looking for to finish strong. :)

That's great, Becky! As per tradition, why not share your top five faves?

Steps:
1. Create a comment on this thread.
2. Copy, paste, and edit the alphabet set in the first post below.
3. Update your comment throughout the year, adding the books you finish during 2019.
Guidelines:
1. Titles need to match a letter of the alphabet. Use the "add book/author" button to create links to the books here on Goodreads.
2. Drop "A," "An," and "The" from titles. For example, A Single Shard would be listed for S, and The Field Guide would be listed for F.
3. If your title begins with a number, convert it to a letter by spelling it out. For example, 100 Cupboards and The 11:11 Wish would both be listed for O.
4. It's okay to add multiple titles under each letter, but there's no extra credit.
5. Only list middle-grade titles. No picture books, YA, or adult books about kids.
6. You can add a rating and review link. For example ***** My review is here.
7. For an added challenge, see if you can read your books in alphabetical order.
8. Have fun!
