Peggy wrote: "Me too Sandra! I wasn't sure for a while if I even wanted to read The Rosie Effect, but I'm enjoying it so far :)"I am also usually skeptical to sequences, especially when they are not planned in advance. I saw the book last weekend and was surprised it was already out! I guess you guys in the US will have to wait a bit longer.
I am half way through the book and I am enjoying it. I keep laughing and I am amused at how Don analyzes social situations.
I'm glad you like it too Kirila :) I'm also halfway through right now and Don is just as wonderful as he was in the first book.
Glad you ladies are liking the Rosie Effect. I am planning to read it in November. I am in the US, but was able to get a copy through NetGalley. :) I just finished reading The Glass Castle. I thought it was a great memoir.
I am currently reading Moon Called as a BOTM for another group. It is really good so far. I am also making my way slowly through a couple others.
Kristie, The Glass Castle is one of the best memoirs I have read so far. You probably would enjoy Half Broke Horses by the same author, if you didn't read it. This is the story of her grandmother, who was a VERY special person.
I went to bed tonight with the intent of reading a few chapters because I felt quite tired. I ended up finishing The Rosie Effect. It got really interesting, I was connected to the characters and needed to know what will happen next. Laughing and crying at the same time. Don is ridiculous and adorable. I really liked the second story about him and I am looking forward to any other books Graeme Simsion might write!

Thanks, Sandra. I will add it to my TBR.
I finished In the Woods and liked it but had several issues with it too so 3 stars it is. Now I'm starting House of the Rising Sun by Kristen Painter.
I finished Rise of Empire for the chunkster challenge. I LOVED it! This is fast becoming one of my favourite fantasy series ever! An easy 5 stars for me.I am now starting The Name of the Wind which is for a buddy read. I am really looking forward to it.
I just finished The Graveyard Book. What a touching story. I thoroughly enjoyed it, even the sad parts. I'm moving on to Six Years and To Say Nothing of the Dog.
I finished The Rosie Effect, which was great. My review is here: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...Up next is either 600 Hours of Edward for the group read, or The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks for the challenge. I think I'll go for the latter, the first one is also about a guy with Asperger and I might compare it too much to The Rosie Effect.
I just noticed we are now at 3,000 members in this group! Peggy - can't wait to read The Rosie Effect - it won't be a available in the U.S. until later in the year though.
I finally finished Kushiel's Dart. It was 30+ hours in audiobook and I had to stop listening to it about half way through for the toppler, so it felt like it was taking forever to finish. With it, I finished my Chunkster challenge. I'll start Tiger's Curse after work today.
Finished two books - Everything I Never Told You. This was only my second audiobook but might be exploring listening to books more. My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show....The second one was The Leaving of Things. My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I enjoyed both.
Roz wrote: "I just finished The Graveyard Book. What a touching story. I thoroughly enjoyed it, even the sad parts. The Graveyard Book was such a sweet yet spooky read, I really enjoyed it. And Neil Gaiman himself narrates the audio version. To be fair, he could narrate the back of a cereal box and I'd enjoy it, though ;)

I felt the same way, Kat. I actually listened to him narrate this book before I ever read anything by him. I had to go buy it after that. I think I listenet to it several times. His narration of Neverwhere is great too!
I am almost finished with American Gods. It really picked up over the last third of the book and I could not force myself to put it down until I was so tired I could not keep reading yesterday. I am totally loving The Name of the Wind, although I have barely begun. I also started Six Years for the group read. Still listening to Voyager
I started a second book (rarely happens), Theft of Swords, for the chunkster challenge. If the first ten pages are anything to go by, this book is going to be brilliant!
You are in for a treat with 'Theft of Swords' Peggy! It's a great series! I love me some Royce and Hadrian! :)
Has anyone read The Mortal Instrument Series? I just watched City of Bones and liked the movie and thought I would give the books a go.
@Mariab, I'm hoping to start it maybe next month? I really need to start reading more on my TBR shelf :-) I just see all these great reads that everyone else is reading and my TBR shelf grows each week. Not that I'm complaining, lol :-)

Enjoy Peggy. I love me some Royce and Hadrian too.
If you guys are really keen on the Rosie Project sequel, you could always pay Australian prices and postage if you want to experience my life.Booktopia is my rec for Aussie books.
Currently reading The Room of Lost Things. *sigh* Was supposed to finish this in September.Hidden for fun. Going good so far.
Gone Girl. Had heard 2/3rd on audio then got busy elsewhere. Now picking up from scratch on paperback. Have to finish it by tomorrow or day after because I have to watch the movie. Only 28 pages in. It's almost 500 pages. :(
Smiling Again: Coming Back to Life and Faith After Brain Surgery for Audible review.
Stephanie wrote: "Has anyone read The Mortal Instrument Series? I just watched City of Bones and liked the movie and thought I would give the books a go."I read the first one and liked it fairly well but for some reason never continued with the series. I need to pick it back up.
Just finished The Orchid House by Lucinda Riley. I didn't really enjoyed it so much as I expected. The plot is predictable. The writing style is too simple. The characters are plain, boring and some times their actions and reactions just don't make sense. Though I gave it 2* since I can't say I hate it. I'm not sure what I'll read now. I'm trying to pick something from the huge pile on my bedside table...
I finally decided to start reading The House Girl by Tara Conklin. While deciding I read a children book called The Lemonade War by Jacqueline Davies that my 9 years old son recommended to me. It was a great reading! I'm not boring everyone here with my comments, but here is my review if anyone with kids is interested.
I just finished The Book of Unholy Mischief by Elle Newmark and narrated by Raúl Esparza. While the book was good, it was the narration that really did it for me. I could listen to that man read the dictionary if he used an Italian accent. It would be even better if he was reading an Italian dictionary. I wouldn't have a clue what he was saying, but, mio dio, the beauty of the Italian language combined with his voice would be fantastico!
I finished The Name of the Wind for a buddy read. I thought it was brilliant! It has gone straight onto my favourites list and I cannot wait to continue with the series. Here is my review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...I am now going to start reading The Twelve Caesars for the monthly challenge and continue listening to the audiobook of Midwinter of the Spirit.
Just finished Dead Mountain: The Untold True Story of the Dyatlov Pass Incident
This is my review: www.goodreads.com/review/show/1095277140
I finished reading Tiger's Curse. It was a bit too young for my tastes. A bit too much teenaged romantic angst.I'll start The Drawing of the Three tomorrow.
I finished Theft of Swords which was great: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...Next is 600 Hours of Edward for the group read. I'm looking forward to it, I've been wanting to read it for ages.
I finished listening to Midwinter of the Spirit for the chunkster challenge. I enjoyed it but I still prefer the first book in the series. I rated it 4 stars.
I finished The Name of the Wind and can't wait to read the next one! I also finished American Gods tonight. I lost it at the end. All those pages and I can't quite figure it all out. I know what happened, but keep thinking "huh"? I'm not going to worry about for now. All I can think about now is that I am finally finished with my third chunkster section and I am done with the challenge.
