Lisa (lisathebooklover) | 9244 comments I am going to start The Thirteenth Tale later today for this month's group read. I am also working my way through The Twelve Caesars for the Fact Not Fiction challenge. It's an interesting book but I am finding it a bit dry in parts so I am only reading small amounts each day.

The thirteenth Tale is a great book, Lisa. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

I can't stand to see a challenge go unfinished even if it is no longer running.

I finally finished my Around The World Challenge that I started in 2012. One more book will finish my ABC challenge, and two more books for my Cross Canada Challenge from last year. I plan on reading those two in December. I hope there will be no more need for a "left over stew" challenge.

Janice (jamasc) | 59890 comments You've got some interesting titles there siriusedward.

message 913: by KimeyDiann (new)

KimeyDiann | 2174 comments I finished Alexander Death last night. It is the third book in The Paranormals Series by J.L. Bryan. I've really enjoyed this series so far. I'll probably start Jenny Plague-Bringer tonight to finish out the series. The way Alexander Death ended really seemed like it should have been the finale, but it was part of a four book bundle.

I'm tempted to skip it and start my re-read of The Fever Series by Karen Marie Moning. The next book in The Fever World comes out in January and I want to re-read the entire series (6 books) again before Burned comes out.

Oh, [book:China Dolls|18404427] China Dolls by Lisa See has been waiting in my Audible Library since long. How does that fit in the monthly challenge? Or did you mean some other group?

Sandra (sanlema) | 11261 comments I just finished The House Girl that it was good, buy not great.
Now I'll try to finish Pride and Prejudice. I'm 27% done with it, and liking it, but for some reason I'm always putting it apart to read some requested book that come to the library, or my book club book, or a novel that will be due soon at the library... I'm committed now to finishing it before start anything else.

message 919: by Pragya (last edited Nov 15, 2014 09:01AM) (new)

Pragya (reviewingshelf) | 4026 comments Just finished Girl With a Pearl Earring and was looking for people to recommend it to because I loved it so much. But was disappointed to discover almost everyone had either already read it or marked as TBR. I guess I read it way too late. But better late than never.

Still struggling through Drowning and in the middle of Gone Girl.

TJ, you must read (if possible, listen) to Snow Flower and the Secret Fan. I absolutely loved it.

Janice, have you read China Dolls?

Not yet. It's on my wishlist.

message 934: by Lisa (last edited Nov 17, 2014 02:53AM) (new)

Lisa (lisathebooklover) | 9244 comments I finished The Thirteenth Tale for the group read. I gave it 4 stars but my actual rating would be 4.5. I like gothic stories and this one was really good.

I am now starting The Regeneration Trilogy: Regeneration; the Eye in the Door; the Ghost Road. I want to read more books set during the First World War or that are linked in some way to the war and this trilogy is meant to be one of the best.

message 935: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18550 comments I've paused my reading of Swan Song, my final chunkster (nearly half way through) and I have started the new Stephen King release Revival for a buddy read.

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments I'm reading Lost and Found for a netgalley review. So far, it's mweh. I really liked the description of the book, but it turns out the characters and events are a bit too quirky and unrealistic for me.

message 944: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie I am loving The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry by Gabrielle Zevin. What is funny is I keep picturing AJ as an old man but I believe he is relatively young. I tend to picture the characters different then they are described in books, with the exception of Harry Potter :)

message 945: by Cherie (new)

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments I finished Picnic at Hanging Rock and started listening to The Tortilla Curtain. I am still making my way through Stuff Matters: Exploring the Marvelous Materials That Shape Our Man-Made World for the Fact-Not Fiction challenge.

I got the same feeling when I read this. He is supposed to be a 39 year old widower in the beginning of the book, but he feels older.
