Daph wrote: "Susy wrote: "Veronica wrote: "Hey guys! Anyone wants to join me and good ol Stephen King? Could do a re-read but have so many other books on my TBR list (including some Stephen Kings I haven't read yet).

On my TBR list as well.....though not sure when I will be reading it. Already too much going on in June I'm afraid (reading Emma if anybody wants to join).
Veronica wrote: "Hey guys! Anyone wants to join me and good ol Stephen King? I will be reading Cujo , Firestarter , Under the Dome , Cell , [book..."I'm in the same situation as Daph and Susy. Since I'm not home during the summer, I've completely overbooked June. So I had thought of reading some Stephen King towards fall, but if you guys find a particular month that works for all of you, I'll see if I squeeze some Stephen King and join aswell :)

How about July since June seems quite busy for everyone?
For Stephen King fans (of which there appears to be many in this thread), maybe we can try Under the Dome in July, Cell in August and The Tommyknockers in September? Just throwing an idea out there to see if it sticks lol

Joan wrote: "Anybody interested in reading Life of Pi in July?"I need to assess my schedule in July but hopefully I might be able to join in aswell :)

Awesome for Life of Pi! I feel like I'm going to need help with that one. Not normally my kind of book!
It is great to see so much activity here! I am traveling today but I will review all of these posts later, add reads to my list and create threads as necessary. I will post as soon as possible to confirm participants and let you know everything is set up.

Daph wrote: "For Stephen King fans (of which there appears to be many in this thread), maybe we can try Under the Dome in July, Cell in August and The Tommyknockers in September? Just throwing an idea out there..."I am definitely in for Cell in August!
Can you believe that this will be my first time reading Stephen King?!
Okay, well, now I'm curious Eirelyn, what age range are you? You don't have to give me your actual age if you don't want to. I'm 46 and I've been reading Stephen King books for most of my life. Are you in your 20's? I'm so glad you are finally discovering him! I hope you like Cell.
LoL, Susy. Agreed!Catherine, I'll be 31 on Sunday! lol I was really more into realistic fic growing up. I just had this notion in my head that Stephen King novels were all just really strange...? Haha. Plus I've seen a few movies based on King novels that I just wasn't into. Plus, I'd heard a few reviews from family who said that he can be pretty long-winded, describing trivial things in tedious detail (which is a huge reading pet peeve of mine), so I just never read anything by him. But I've browsed a few summaries of his, and I think a couple of the books sound up my alley, so I'd like to at least give him a shot!
I really hope you enjoy Cell. I agree that he can be long-winded sometimes, and I've liked some books a lot more than others. I haven't read everything he's written (there are so many) but he has always been one of my favorites. Now that I'm older, I'm re-reading some of his books that I first read as a teenager or in my 20's which has been fun.
Catherine, thanks. I hope I do too! :D That sounds like fun -- re-reading old faves. I haven't re-read too many books, but there are several I'd like to go back to in the future. There are just too many new books to read! XD
Here is what I have on the list for Stephen King buddy reads. Please let me know if I missed someone or something! As usual, I will set up the thread towards the end of the month prior to the read.July - Under the Dome - Veronica, Luffy, Susy, Daph, Lisa
August - Cell - Veronica, Susy, Lisa, Eirelyn
September - Tommyknockers - Veronica, Daph, Lisa
Mary Pat wrote: "Lindsay, Annie, Ilona, Daph, MindyI have Persuasion on the list for July!"
Hi Mary Pat, could you add me for this one as well? Thx!
Mary Pat wrote: "Here is what I have on the list for Stephen King buddy reads. Please let me know if I missed someone or something! Would anyone like to discuss Debbie Macomber's 16 Lighthouse Road, the first book in her Cedar Cove series, with me? I have seen the show (and enjoyed it) and now I want to read the book. I am thinking September or October for it would be good. Thanks!
I would love to discuss the second book (sequel) to our group read this month. Anyone up for discussing The Second Summer of the Sisterhood as a buddy read in July? Just curious. Thanks so much!
Daph wrote: "I would love to discuss the second book (sequel) to our group read this month. Anyone up for discussing The Second Summer of the Sisterhood as a buddy read in July? Just curious. Thanks..."Count me in for The Second Summer of the Sisterhood in July. :D

Want to read Under the dome and Cell but not in June cause I already have 4, maybe 5 reads going (while I normally read 2-3 a month lol). July and August would do.
