Cassandra | 5832 comments I'm up for The Fifth Season - that one's been on my list forever.

I've also read Uprooted already but I agree that it's a good book and would make a great buddy read.

message 157: by Lindsay (new)

Lindsay | 1337 comments The buddy reads have been great and I'm loving doing series reads. I was wondering if anyone who read American Gods as this months group read would like to read Anansi Boys in February?

message 162: by Miriam (new)

Miriam | 89 comments Is there a chance to join in on the Mistborn Series Buddy read? I've the first book in that series on my Kindle for ages, but I never got round to read it. Started it about 10 times or so but never got past the first 100 pages even though I found the story really interesting.

Mary Pat | 2186 comments I am definitely getting ahead of myself here but I am so excited about A Conjuring of Light - the last book in the Shades of Magic series - that I can't wait. The second book, A Gathering of Shadows left me hanging and I can't wait to see how the series ends!

Any one interested in reading this as a Buddy Read in April? It will be released on February 21st. (And yes, I have pre-ordered it!)

Oh Mary Pat, you're telling me. I'm excessively excited. I've had it pre-ordered for ages. Honestly, I'm not sure I could wait till April to read it, and I have a feeling I might devour it in a day or two which would not be particular conducive to buddy read discussion. But I would be *so* up for discussing it if others are reading it in April.

I know what you mean! I wanted to do the buddy read in March but I am already committed to five books and four of them are buddy reads! Let's see who else is interested and go from there! I wouldn't mind if you read it in advance and discussed it in April - as long as you don't reveal! :)

message 189: by Kadijah Michelle (new)

Kadijah Michelle (kadmich) | 2176 comments I'll join in on The Scarlet Letter. I love doing a classic for a buddy read.

message 190: by Kadijah Michelle (new)

Kadijah Michelle (kadmich) | 2176 comments I was wondering if anyone has started the Century Trilogy? I have already read Fall of Giants, and I want to read Winter of the World this year. Because these are such large books, I'm not looking to finish the series this year and don't plan on reading Edge of Eternity till next year.

Is there any interest in doing a Buddy read for Winter of the World? I'm open to any month(s).

I am actually planning to read Winter of the World this year. Does March or April works for you? Also I think it will be better to divide it in two months since is quite long

message 193: by Jacqueline (new)

Jacqueline (jacqueliner94) | 136 comments I'm going through the Penryn & The End of Days trilogy (Angelfall) right now. Is anyone else reading them?

message 194: by zandrama (new)

zandrama | 152 comments I hope there will be a "Library of souls" buddy read during March?

message 195: by Taylor C (last edited Feb 16, 2017 03:12PM) (new)

Taylor C | 454 comments Ok I've waited awhile on this because I wanted to make sure it wasn't a thing yet.

I have a few to nominate. :)

I'd like to nominate Scarlet by Marissa Meyer.

Cinder was a group read in April (i think) 2016. So I don't know if this would work as a buddy read since it's not the first book I'm nominating. Me personally, I'm actually on Winter (the fourth book in the series). The reason for nominating it is I know many people who want to continue with the series. That being said, my comment could be a complete waste of time, but I wanted to at least throw it out there lol.

Second, I want to mention The Restaurant at the End of the Universe. It's book #2 from Douglas Adam's The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Book 1 has been on my list for way too long. Now that I finished it, it was such a quick read that I think it'd be a great additive as a buddy read. :) Since book 1 is so recent, maybe in March or April.

Finally, there are a couple series that are being read this month for BR that I can't get to yet. So I was wondering if The Chronicles of Narnia can be picked back up (book 1 was a GR) or A Quest of Heroes is of interest to anyone.

Sorry for being so winded! Thank you!

message 196: by Lindsay (new)

Lindsay | 1337 comments I would go for Scarlet and the Hitchhikers series Taylor.

Mary Pat | 2186 comments Ida wrote: "I hope there will be a "Library of souls" buddy read during March?"

Absolutely! I don't know about you but I am very much looking forward to it!

message 200: by Mary Pat (last edited Feb 20, 2017 10:45AM) (new)

Mary Pat | 2186 comments Lindsay, Taylor - let me know which month you decide on for The Restaurant at the End of the Universe and I will set it up.
Am I correct Taylor that you have already read Scarlet? Do you want to read it as a Buddy Read with Lindsay? I actually plan to start that series a little later in the year so maybe some folks would be interested in reading the series?
