Winter (winter9) | 4998 comments Since the task is to choose ten box and celebrate the number ten, we added a rule not to vote on box sets. For those of you who did it won't affect your vote, and you can choose another book instead and add so you have ten single books in all. You can still vote on books in series, just not the whole series as one vote.

message 61: by Margaret (new)

Margaret I can't believe I forgot about a book that I always consider a Top 10 if not a Top 5 favorite. I already voted, but I'll add an honorable mention for Swallows and Amazons, the very best family read-aloud ever.

message 67: by Janine (last edited May 09, 2016 09:31AM) (new)

Janine | 1545 comments Honestly, this was really hard. I have a few top standouts, but after that I have so many books I love and often my favourites change with different periods in my life, even moods. Also, some books I love because of the impact they had on my life, the friends they introduced me to or way they made me think, even if I can acknowledge plot holes or writing flaws etc.

Harry Potter will always be the most important series in my life, and I ended up putting three of them in my top. My standouts were:
Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
Pride and Prejudice
Peter Pan

And then:
Ready Player One
Divergent
The Hunger Games
The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time
Vicious

I could've given the last couple of slots to 10 or so books, but I just went with my gut.
