What Are You Currently Reading? (doesn't have to be an Aussie book) - Part 2
A little late to the party but I am reading Nevermoor: The Trials of Morrigan Crow by Jessica Townsend. This is not a genre I usually read but I am loving it.

I just heard she's signed up for 3 more books after #3 which is to be released early next year. How exciting is that!!
Picked up The Wych Elm by Tana French. 12 pages in I feel as if someone has nailed my head to the floor. Is it like this for 500 pages?
I'm reading The Fragments by Aussie author Toni Jordan. Very enjoyable mystery about a destroyed unpublished book.

I brought home from the library my reserve of Joe Country and now my DH is reading it, before I have had a chance. He is under strict instructions NOT to reveal anything, under pain of, well, a lot of pain, at least. If necessary, I will remind him that there are sharp knives in the kitchen...
Today I started reading Flames by Robbie Arnott for the AA genre annual challenge. I’ve been putting it off all year because although I thought it sounded good, the style is way out of my comfort zone. But I’m enjoying it so far.

Loving Joe Country but had to take an enforced break for my overseas guests who were staying 2 nights. And it's due back at the library soon, DH reading it too and only half way through... luckily the library has abolished overdue fines: it might be a day or two late.
Reading The Blue Rose by Kate Forsyth. Only just discovered her historical fictions this year and this is her latest. Hoping to go to her author talk this evening. Thoroughly enjoying it.

I’ve just started reading
by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. My first book by this author and loving the writing.
I won MWF tickets to hear Sasha Marianna Salzmann talk about her book Beside Myself next Sunday. I’d not heard of her or the book, but it sounds really interesting so I’m going to see if I can read it by next weekend.
Finally starting A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara.Friends' reviews of this one are very love/hate so will be interesting to see where I sit by the end XD

Krystal, this book is one of my favourites, if I can use that term, but it also broke my heart, over and over.
Please persevere, it is well worth it.
Read a few great great ones lately that i would recommend Sasha wasley True Blue, Love Song, Nora Roberts Under Currents highly recommend this book couldn't not put it down, Something in the wine by Tricia Stringer another great read, Secrets of Silvergum by Mandy Margo, Mr Right Now by Karly Lane these are great books
Another of those bizarre coincidences:I am reading The Aussie Next Door and This is How We Change the Ending and within the first few pages, both books mention the development of opposable thumbs
Just finished State of Wonder by Ann Patchett - this author has become a new favourite of mine and I am in awe of her talent. Her bookshop in Nashville is on my bucket list. About to start Precious and Grace by Alexander McCall Smith - wanted something nice and light for a holiday read.
I’m finally reading my first Natasha Lester book! It’s A Kiss from Mr Fitzgerald, which I’m reading for the main AA annual challenge. I’m really enjoying it, but I must say the misogyny was rife back in those days! It makes my blood boil, but then I just tell myself to settle down and enjoy the story 😆

Take it from another fan, to skip Commonwealth for now, and move on to the new one, The Dutch House, next.

Yesterday I began reading They Came On Viking Ships by Jackie French (another new-for-me author). I didn’t know anything about it, but bought it on that day last year when Amazon had that weird glitch with all those free books!! I thought it sounded interesting, so I’d give it a try. I began reading and was having a little trouble trying to work out the location of the beginning of the story, so I started browsing through the reviews... Oh dear! It seems equally well-loved and despised. I gather it’s a curriculum book somewhere, judging by the ones that seem to have been written in retaliation for being made to read it. I’m not having a strong reaction to it one way or the other, so far, but have already learnt a few Viking facts.

She used to be a regular on Burke's Backyard and that put me off. I've yet to read anything by her although My Name Is Not Peaseblossom did appeal to me.

I actually did a quick Google search and found the booklist for Vic. She has loads of titles on the list. This Viking one is listed for Year 9-10 level. It’s tricky - I would’ve said it ‘reads’ a bit younger. But then there is the content to consider, which is definitely not G rated.

Yes she did the natural remedies. She has also been the Australian Children's Laureate. My sister always says she's a reliable author, nothing startling but reasonable books.

I am currently reading Beyond Justice by Cara C. Putman . I am really enjoying this book. Mystery isn't my usual Genre, but I am finding that i am enjoying this one.

I really enjoyed this book too. A fascinating period of European history.

Such impeccable research, yet the reader never feels like they are being given a history lesson. Such smooth integration of detail. I am in awe!
