For many years C.S. Lewis was an agnostic and was unswayed by the religious beliefs of his friends and colleagues. However, later in his life he accepted Christianity. He then devoted his remaining life to writing about his belief in hopes of helping others. Moreover as a young soldier in the trenches of WWI he promised his dying friend that he would provide for his mother. He kept that promise by having her live with him for the remainder of her life which at times placed him close to poverty.

The bridge in the inspiration image stood out to me so this book title made sense for me.
