15.5 Blockbusters - Requiem for a Dream by Hubert Selby Jr.The movie was actually quite disappointing compared to the book (minus the music, which was great)
I found that the book allows the reader to see the character development a lot better. The movie omitted a lot of moments that I thought were very important in seeing the reasons behind each of the characters' addictions.
The acting was mediocre...the Bronx accents were completely omitted (???)
Also kinda irrelevant, but I found it really frustrating that the the movie constantly shows how the characters' pupils dilate when they do heroin which is completely wrong as pupils contract on opiates... a little research might have been good before filming
Overall, the book was much better than the movie (as expected)
