I'm surprised that your hubby doesn't do the an annual plan. I was doing the 24 credits a year plan, because it works out to be MUCH cheaper than the base monthly plan. And since he seems to be a frugal sort, I'm surprised that he hasn't crunched the numbers. :P Paid Monthly:
Gold - 1 credit per month @$14.95/mo = $14.95 per credit.
Platinum - 2 per month @$22.95/month = $11.48 per credit
Paid Annually
Gold - 12 credits up front @$149.50/year = $12.45 per credit
Platinum - 24 credits up front @ $229.50/year = $9.56 per credit
Doing the annual plan over the equivalent monthly saves you money:
Gold annual saves you $30 over the year.
Platinum annual saves you $46.08 over the year
If he wouldn't use 24 credits, it still makes sense to switch to the annual plan. :)
/end fiscal calculations

Yeah, but it's still less money over the same time. He's paying $179.40 when he could be paying $149.50... FOR THE SAME THING. O_OIf his argument is that he can cancel anytime and not continue to pay for credits that he doesn't want to get... Like he wants to keep the plan 6 months, get 6 credits, and then cancel... then OK. But if he's continually keeping his account active, it really doesn't make sense to keep the base plan. It's just throwing money away.

No, we never do that. I'll probably cancel again once he's achieved The Expanse. We put it on hiatus for 6-8 mos then got a couple then cancelled. Started up again because The Expanse plus the Prime Day sale: 3 months for $4.95. Plus I got a free book from Audible as well.
Just a "random" observation. I bet none of the people who tell you to drink 8 glasses of water a day are on water pills...
Hey folks. Sorry I've been scarce lately. Had a cool work conference in Nashville last week, then spent this week surviving a direct hit from a Cat 3 hurricane.80 miles inland, mind. Wasn't the worst hit, but bad enough that our town is shut down for awhile.
How has clean up been, Chris? Do you have electricity and are you back at work? It's crazy how much devastation one storm can cause.
Glad to see you’re okay Chris. My aunt lives not far from you on College street. Thankfully she too now has power. It’s amazing what a hot shower can do for your soul sometimes yeah?
Yes, that's very true. Glad she has power now too. The house right beside me still has a generator going..Our neck of the woods is famous now, I guess. I got held up at a light this afternoon by police road blocking everyone trying to turn on Tallahassee hwy.
Then i saw the motorcade zip by, several SUVs with American flags waving. The Vice President was visiting with some local farmers that lost their crops, along with the governor, both senators, and our US representative.
Does anyone know a site like paperbookswap but where the receiver pays for shipping, not the sender?I have a lot more books to get rid of than ones I want to get, and don't want to have to pay all the shipping costs...
My daughter was actually close to tears, yesterday, when she was reading the news and saw its last words.

Nyssa wrote: "My daughter was actually close to tears, yesterday, when she was reading the news and saw its last words."I have been in actual tears. Several times.
I get really easily emotionally triggered when I'm sick, so I've been trying to avoid things that might make me sad. The worst it would hurt to cry the more my body wants me to. Damn traitor body! But really, what sadist programmed that kind of message??

Right?!
No, it's OK... I'm doing OK with that one, maybe cause I've only heard it secondhand, but so far so good with no ugly crying.

They should send a new rover, named Eva, with an extra battery for him. It'd be the right thing to do.
I just read an article that speaks on taking [your partner] on dates structured around Eight Dates: Essential Conversations for a Lifetime of Love.It looks interesting - and the person in the article said they made her feel closer to her partner.
In a way, the things spoken about in the article remind me of my religious pre-marriage counseling. And to be honest, that counseling was super helpful. I think I might see about getting a copy of this book.
Got a new tat today from a pet charity event. They went a bit crazy with the claw marks, but I like the bitty cat climbing up my wrist:
Yeah. She was excited. She (my sister) and Britt (my niece) got matching ones, but I definitely had to get a cat. Originally were we talking about getting matching paw print ones, but then they went for the dog.The crazy thing is theirs were so much more expensive than mine, but aside from the red for the heart, I don't think there was much more to it. *shrugs*
I had a cat named Scratch for a time. She had a sister named Scrape.Scratch was jumping onto my lap once - and i was wearing shorts...
(You know where this is going)
Scratch didn't get a good grip and then dug in her claws to try to get purchase. I stopped wearing shorts around her.
Becky wrote: "I have plenty of both. I need neither, but I choose to get tattoos, and have cats."Yeah, not sure tattoos are ever really about need. ^_^

I heard about a guy who had his health status tattooed just in case, but yeah, I can't think of anything other than that which would be a "need" for a tattoo lol.

So, plans changed: the novellas weren't on sale, they are normally about $3.50-$4.50 as a member. So, I just got 1 for him to tide him over until his next credit hits. I ended up getting him Hyperion since he seems to like dramatic space operas and I think We Are Legion has a lot more of the funny.
@Mike - I haven't read Hyperion, either. But my library had We Are Legion and it's in Kindle Unlimited (if you use that). I should get to book 2 but...
