Needless to say, it was a success! :-D"
No fair!! Wesley was not into his cake. He poked at it but ultimately didn't care. We had his birthday party at his favorite restaurant. He loves their mashed potatoes and creamed corn. We said no to cake and yes to mashed potatoes. So we tried to get him to eat the mashed potatoes and get messy that way but he was not interested. He kept looking at my moms spoon so she just fed it to him normal. Anticlimactic.

Needless to say, it was a success! :-D"

That's hilarious. He was probably giving all of y'all the side-eye.

So...anyway I ordered the knives and they shipped (via Fedex) from Ga. I live in Nashville so the expected arrival date was Sat. the 28th. Today the expected date changed to Mon. the 30th. See it shipped from GA to MS ( Massachusetts)...
Am I the only one who can read a map??? I Mean they could have mailed it for the same shipping (or less) and not given my order a national tour. Possibly they could simply thrown it out of the truck on the way by???
Weird, oh well.

He looked like a happy puppy.
Then he said, "Sanderson...?"
And I crushed his poor little puppy heart when I said I wasn't a fan.
And then he died even more when I said I didn't like Name of the Wind.
He decided to take consolation in the fact that at there was another fantasy reader amongst us, even if we didn't like the same things.
(Though he did agree that Tolkien was overrated, so he's not a complete write-off.) ;)

He looked like a happy puppy.
Then he said, "Sanderson......"
:-D

Life huh?

Also had to work so no costume. ;(
But yall look great!

We also got probably 25 kids total... and had 5 bags of candy... so I will either die of diabetes in 3 weeks, or die of diabetes in 2 weeks... depending on willpower.

Be cool like me! Diabetes in 2 weeks or less FTW! O_O

Thanks!
I'm pleased with how my take on the costume came out. :>
Since I wasn't going to be wearing no bathing suit, I sort of tried to evoke the idea of her look without going whole hog:

Love the Raven costume, Colleen! I think you captured her aesthetic very well.

I apparently got to page 129, four years ago, and stopped reading it for reasons I don't remember. So I expected something to feel familiar as I restarted it today, but it was like I had never seen the book before.
The reason I find this surprising is because the first two chapters are pretty vulgar, language-wise, and chapter two is all sorts of NC-17, so you'd expect them to leave an impression.

That's actually one reason I started writing reviews - to give myself little memory prompts about why I liked or didn't like a book, since I didn't always remember.

^ What Colleen said. I have a lot of books like that.

See, that all makes sense, and is what I expected. But I'm sitting here like "Wait, I read one-hundred pages of this book before!?!"
Maybe my book memory resets after four years...*shrug*

Well all your cells supposedly get replaced every 7 years, so why not? ;)
I've had the experience many times, where I know I've read the book before but can't even remember who done it or the denouement.

Or maybe it was just... not memorable for you. I've re-read whole books where I KNOW I've read the book before but nothing jogs my memory. Or sometimes things are vaguely familiar like déjà vu but I don't really remember.

Movies, too.
Like... we watched the Batman Lego movie and I'd totally forgotten we'd even seen it. I said to my husband one night, while deciding what to watch, "How about Batman Lego. We'd said we'd wanted to watch it."
"Didn't we already watch that?"
"Did we?"
"Yeah..." - and then he goes into some descriptions of what happened, and it took me a good several minutes to even remember stuff enough to recall that, yeah, we had actually watched it.
And it wasn't even long. Like - a couple of weeks. And I'd totally blanked on it.

You're probably right Mrs. J. I have had a moment or two of deja vu, but chocked it up to wanting to remember something that I couldn't in this case.
I like the way you think Orlok!
Thanks for making me feel less crazy, guys. lol
I only had one update:
April 12, 2013 – page 129
21.79% "I think my suspicions were just confirmed... But my planning period is over, and I have to get back to work, so I won't know until later."
So now I'm curious... What was I suspicious about? Why did I feel said mysterious suspicion was confirmed? Did I ever find out? Was I right?
Anyway, we'll see how I feel when I get to page 129.

LOL!

Apparently GR decided to change my facebook settings and started posting all of my updates to my facebook feed. NOT COOL. I didn't notice until after someone commented on it on facebook. Pretty mad.

The only time I can remember my settings suddenly changing was after Chrome had an update. I reset my settings and everything was ok again.

I have no idea. I access GR from multiple computers depending on where I am. My browser updating should have nothing to do with my personal GR settings.

It's a constant source of frustration in Feedback.
It's also yet another reason NOT to trust them with linked accounts.

According to Jer, she's now obsessed, and recently responded to a Facebook post of mine with "Prime-arrow-tastic".

wow

One great example is the chick who created the word/phrase "Fleek/on fleek." The word is everywhere now. They've even named make up and other cosmetics "fleek" and/or "on fleek." The creator isn't even recognized. :(

Or something.
I don't freaking know, man.
