Hubby agrees with you. But lately Sam has been the biggest dick to Dean. But that's a few years from where you are. IMO
I'm stupid. I bought Final Fantasy X and X-2 for PS3 (digitally remastered baby) thinking it would be nice to have around. Loved FF X, never played X-2.Spent the whole weekend playing. Like... 16 hours. I read 0 pages. Winner!
And now I'm sitting at work, not wanting to work, wishing I were turn based destroying some baddies.
*sigh*
I got problems man.
And now, when I should be Engineering stuff, I'm looking up where to recruit the best Blitzball players. Which isn't easy, because most of the good sites are blocked by my work firewall.Don't they know this is important?!?!?
I didn't read much more than that, and I'm not a gamer.Well, except for Words for Friends on the Nook. But that doesn't really take a lot of time. I was annoyed the other day when it wouldn't accept "darklord" as a word.
LOLHubby bought it too. He switches between that and the Tomb Raider reboot.
The FFX battle theme is becoming my lullaby, as it's usually one of the last things I hear before I go to sleep. :D

We played Uncharted a little - well, it's hard to play so hubby played and I watched. I was trying to play but he was flinching watching me not know how to use the controls, lol.
I tried Uncharted once, wasn't for me. I'm bad at gun games, I prefer hack and slash. And/or old school turn based RPG's :D
Dawn wrote: "I tried Uncharted once, wasn't for me. I'm bad at gun games, I prefer hack and slash. And/or old school turn based RPG's :D"Me, too. He'll get more play out of this than I ever will.
Uncharted is more like Tomb Raider and I can't play Tomb Raider. I play the crap out of some Onimusha, though.
I miss being young and in college.. Skipping a days worth of classes and playing video games all day.. I want to get back to FFX soooo bad, but I'll only have like 3-4 hours to play tonight after I work out and eat! Not enough, never enough!!!!

Hopefully tonight.
Ugh. As a parent I should know when to not say anything. So, where can I find a St. Louis Cardinals t-shirt for a four-year old that I can put any number I want on it? I believe 8 is the desired number right now.
I can find home ones, but they are white and I can only find them in a youth size which would be way too large for a way below average size four-year old.

Clueless...
Yeah, I'm branching out. He loves football (soccer) and I can go hockey too. There's huge amounts of stuff for EUFA clubs and since Canada is such a football blackhole it's pretty open for picking a club and he won't be ridiculed.I'm leaning towards looking for an Irish club since he was born in Newfoundland, but I might be stuck with the usual suspects (Man U, Liverpool) when it comes to sizing for him and the colour.
People in Ireland that follow soccer usually support an English team or one of the big two in Scotland. Club football in Ireland is a woeful standard at best. Soccer lags behind gaelic football, hurling and rugby. My advice would be stick with one of the usual suspects like Liverpool, Man utd etc
So you're saying that Canada might not be that inept...no wait,FIFA Rankings:
Ireland - 68
Canada - 112
I found a reasonable option for Manchester United and one for Barcelona, but that's about it as far as toddler sizing goes that I can get a number and maybe a name on.
I wouldn't read too much into FIFA rankings but thats a different topic altogether lol. As for children's jerseys they're notoriously overpriced. Have you tried any European or British based websites that might be cheaper?
One of the things I love the most about my new fitbit:
I've only been using it a few days, but imagine if it had a whole year of data.. Think of all the graphs it could make!!! I love graphs...
Dawn wrote: "That was Hobb's Farseer for me :("For me it was when I finished Hobb's 'Fool's Fate'. Seriously - I have never been more of an emotional wreck after reading a book.
I get a bit sad every time I finish a great book because I don't want it to be over i guess... I quite often have to take a little break before starting a new book, like an adjustment period. Plus I always worry that the next book will be ruined because the previous one was so awesome!
DoodlePanda wrote: "Plus I always worry that the next book will be ruined because the previous one was so awesome!"Haha...I do that too, which is usually why I end up reading books that I don't think I'll like as much first. Kind of a "saving the best for last" thing.
Of course, that just means that I end up reading crap books instead of ones that I'm really looking forward to.
I should rethink this habit. O_o

lol. Graphs
I read the first Farseer and was done. too much crying. The same with Kvothe. He was a whinny bitch but damn he had a lot of bad things happen. After crying my way through 1/2 the book I was done. Got a headache, too.

I do exactly the same, I've started to realize that I'm wasting my time with less-then-awesome books...
I get that with Martin and Stephen King. And to a lesser degree with the Harry Potter and Malazan books. Oh, and Lynch and Butcher for sure.
I read a few books in a row that were okay-ish. Then I looked at my To Read list which had about 200 books (and to clarify I don't add an entire series to my "To Read" just the next book, so it's actually probably 500 books). I thought about this and went through the list. Any books that I wasn't excited enough to read in the next month I deleted.
I've found that when my To Read pile is really high I find it overwhelming. Now I'm keeping it at 100. If I add something over that, another book has to go.
It may seem strange, but I've had A LOT more 4-5 star experiences since doing this.
Gerard wrote: " gaelic football, hurling"Am I the only one who imagines people playing soccer but yelling at each other in gaelic?
We have hurling in the states, but we don't consider it a good thing.

Oh lord...I have almost 700. I couldn't cut it down that much. Hell, I'm doing good to keep my "upcoming reads" list under 100.
I know. It took some serious thinking. But I kept looking at the list and feeling shortness of breath and irregular heart beats (not really, but close).
Nicki wrote: "I'm usually okay with authors who torture their characters, like Rothfuss. Even when I'm really into the story and feel connected to the characters, there's a level of... detachment? unreality? I'm not sure, but it's the same thing that makes me unable to be scared by horror fiction. I'm too aware it's fiction. But there are a couple of authors who can just get under my skin. Kay is foremost among them, but Hobb also hit the ball out the park with the Farseer books. Though, sadly, not with anything since. Not that I haven't loved them as books, I just haven't had the same dear god you're breaking my heart reaction. "
WHen I say I'm a wussy, I'm not exaggerating at all. I'll cry over the right commercial...

I'm awfully emotional at times and can get teary, but books tend not to do that to me. Even traumatic books don't hit me too hard and I've read some serious umm shit over the last couple of years on that front in the realm of non-fiction and partial biography.
Ditto. I can get teary pretty easily - especially at touching things - but I feel like I get more easily affected by visual things than by reading things.I think I read once where reading engages your brain differently, and activates the more thought based/rational parts... so I don't know if there's any truth in that, but sometimes that's my theory.
I also find that I am more forgiving of movies for things like lack of character development.
If I'm reading an action book where it's mostly action and not much in the way of character stuff, it irks me - but I can accept it from a movie (though still get irked with TV shows). I think that's mostly an allowment for length/media limits.
In unrelated news, I think my library is trying to kill me... Of course all the books I've been waiting on for ages are all going to come available at the same time.

This has happened to me so many times I no longer put more than two books on hold. Doesn't matter how many copies or how many people ahead of me. Seriously, it's like all those other people on the hold lists are like, "Haha, let's mess with her and cancel all our holds at once."
Because I've done the MATH for crying out loud and there's no way that should happen to me over and over.
Off subject.I follow Fangs for Fantasy and they recently reviewed Masks by Karen Chance.
It was a very positive review with critical analysis from their specific POV. 4 Star review.
The author went all types of upset (it was 50 Shades of Excuses, lol! (see what I did there? Corny, but it made me laugh) over a 4 star review!!
I am...really flabbergasted and it sounded like a book I would have had some interest in...if I hadn't have read the hot mess I just read. A 4 star review causing a melt down.
Sometimes I feel like I need to stop following blogs. O_o

LOL!
I always get upset because I want to keep the books the entire 9 wks. But stupid people put holds on my books and then I have to return them.

Wait, what??
Let me get this right, she was upset from your 4 star review?? How is she going to take it if someone actually doesn't like the book??

Not my review - I just follow the blog.
The site's review. Fangs is a "social justice" review site specializing in Urban Fantasy (I'm not a TV watcher so I ignore the show reviews).
But yeah, she got upset. Blew me away because the review really praised most of the book and the reviewer said they basically ran out to buy it. :\

Sounds like the author needs to toughen up a bit or she probably wont last long...
Random change of subject...I want to read a book, but its not on goodreads... this is a huge problem for me.
I don't think I can read it now... *sigh*
(GR addiction anyone?)
