There's also Fishpond.com for free delivery - and I've found they often have stuff BD doesn't, or for cheaper.
As to work - I'm in a "support" position, so don't really have the option to not be bothered. Or a door. Heh.I did tell one of my people today that I was in a bad mood and to not piss me off, though, so there's that... :)
I'm a manager for my company. I've been doing what I do for a long time. Recently, the other manager I worked with left to take a different job and the boss promoted this field guy to the vacant position. Unfortunately, he's all giddy and excitable and annoying. I understand that's it's nice to get promoted and get that "moving up the ladder" feeling, but he gets on my nerves with all the un-needed information and the fact that he thinks he knows it all. I'm a really laid back guy, but that's been grating on me for a few weeks now.

This is good to know. I'd started it before - and liked what I read - but decided not to read all of it until I had a hardcopy.

I know the feels.
I'm a office manager/receptionist/general dogsbody.
I get to answer every call - and I still have to smooze even when I feel like shit on a stick.
It's not bad. I saw Colleen (c.o.lleen) said she couldn't get into it. So...try it see what you think. I thought it was slow in some places but okay overall.
In fairness, I didn't really get that far.It was one of those books where the blurb didn't wow me, but I was curious 'cause of what I was hearing about it.
But then we get this woman who's an amnesiac and people are trying to kill her - and she sits there obsessing about grey hairs and not liking her nose, or some shit.
And then there were lines like this: (view spoiler)
So, anyway, I put it on pause and never got around to picking it up again... so I never got far enough for the story to start.
And you can just use Colleen, 'cause it's easier. ;)
That's what I meant by "slow places". I got heartily sick of her obsessing about clothes and "interpersonal relationships". But there were some laughs and some action to.
Mike (the Paladin) wrote: "That's what I meant by "slow places". I got heartily sick of her obsessing about clothes and "interpersonal relationships". But there were some laughs and some action to."Gotcha.
For me it was more of a feminism thing than a pacing one.
Hmmm. While do love me some costume porn - I prefer it to say in Romance where it belongs. Bertrice Small has some great costume porn in The Kadin.
So much that I have two copies (well, three: ebook, and to paperbacks. I bought the 2nd paperback because artwork matters.).
<--Favorite cover. LOOK at that outfit!Would NOT recommend this unless you can get down with bodice rippers. Non-con & dub-con happen in this book. But it is very mild compared to most of Smalls work...so if you're read her before, this book is not typical.
I actually own that cover. LOL!I remember reading The Kadin years ago and the book just stayed with me. I ended up finding it again by chance through GR's bookswap program.

It stayed with me, too! I hunted this cover down via Amazon, I think.
I've been working on a review for it for...ever. I have mixed emotions about this book so my current draft of the review is long and [still] unfinished.

Costume porn in The Rook which segued into costume porn in romance.

OH, score!!
Also, Supernatural is one of my favorite shows but I liked it better when they were chasing ghosts and demons. Cute boys, they are.

I don't want to cause you to faint, but I haven't seen it either.
I've only watched a few episodes via Netflix.I tend to to go feast or famine with shows, and this was at the tail end of my tv watching phase. I may try it again at some point, but I haven't wanted to watch anything in a long time - (a year or more).
Becky wrote: "I've never seen Supernatural."Well, Dean is delicious. Sam (IMO) in a horrific bitch.
BUT Dean is delicious.
And the show has currently jumped the shark (and is preparing to jump it again).
My husband likes the show and still watches it but he complains about every single episode.
I loved the show where Dean became a substitute phys ed teacher wearing short shorts, knee high socks and a tight white T-shirt. He played it with just the right amount of tongue in cheek. *sigh*I bet Jensen Ackles loves the fun episodes. He seems to enjoy making fun of himself. Only makes him sexier!
I couldn't agree more!! The silly episodes are my favorites too! One of the funnies is the one where Dean gets infected with ghost virus (?) which makes him anxious and scared of everything! Him screaming like a girl when they find a cat in a locker is one of the funniest things ever! :D
Ah yea, that was hilarious!! Making fun of their own names and lives! I like series that don't take themselves too seriously :)

Becky wrote: "I've never seen Supernatural."We only started watching it recently... two or so months ago. Been binge watching it on Netflix. It's a pretty fun show and "easy to watch" as Jer says. (Doesn't require much in the way of brain cells.)
We're about close to the end of season 7, and I'm all depressed 'cause (view spoiler)
The boys are cute... but if you, like me, watch things for more than that... it's fun to watch. Sort of along the lines of Buffy and Charmed and stuff.
I watch it mainly for the story too, but hot guy doesn't hurt ;) (notice the singular, don't find Sam that hot tbh)I've been hooked since it first came out :)

If I had to pick between the brothers - I'd probably pick Sam over Dean. He's more my type. But both annoy me. Sam is too emo and Dean is too closed off.I love me some Misha, though. I just want to pinch his cheeks.

See, I don't really watch it. I'm a little to wussy for that. I usually leave the room - like the most recent episode.
Beginning starts.

So, for me, I just like to look at the cute booty.
But I agree, Misha is very cute as well! I could look at Dean and Misha all day long.
But Sam. Saying Sam is emo is like saying...Biber has a small tendency to be a douche, lol.
Misha is like a puppy :D Sam is ok, but in my opinion Dean is as good as it gets ;) sexy and funny... *sigh*
