Michelle Herondale (michelle_h2) | 2 comments Well I have a love/hate relationship with the lovely viscous series by Sara wolf
I Love the story and the plot but I can't stand the protagonist she's soooooo annoying the way she talks the way she thinks

message 252: by Anna (new)

Anna (abookobsessed) | 9 comments Probably Looking for Alaska. I liked it, but it wasn't as good as everyone says, it actually is (in my opinion) the worst book by John Green.

message 253: by cc (new)

cc (caitlinisakittycat) I have to say Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor, Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire (which I wouldn't have wasted my time on if I'd known she was one of the Authors Behaving Badly), and the second two Divergent books.

I've read that one and Paper Towns and I didn't care for either of them. They seemed like the same characters in a different book with the same plot. I don't comprehend the John Green hysteria.

message 255: by [deleted user] (new)

I didn't like The Selection at all. I felt like the rebels were only there as a poor way to create action. They aren't developed at all - it's like they just popped out of nowhere.

message 256: by Nika (new)

Nika | 1024 comments The vampire diaries and Divergent. Everone was like, it's soo much better than The Hunger Games, but I was really disappointed of the series. Except for the ending of course, VR will always have my respect for that one^^

message 257: by Brittany (new)

Brittany (brittmarie023) I was told not to even waste my time with the Lord of the Rings series.

I've never read any of the Vampire Diaries books, but I watched the TV show. From what I've heard the books are actually worse.

message 259: by [deleted user] (new)

I personally love Lord of the Rings, but I can see why some people wouldn't.

message 260: by ❥Katlynn (new)

❥Katlynn (katlynnvn) Looking for Alaska, it's not partially bad but it wasn't what I was expecting, John's more of a lesson ending writer and idk I just didn't like it that much.

message 261: by Priya (last edited Jul 10, 2014 06:25PM) (new)

Priya | 50 comments The Selection.
My number reason is (spoilers if you haven't read the Elite) EVERYONE WAS CHEATING ON SOMEBODY. America is, Marlee is, and Maxon could literally say to America, "I love you, but it's okay if you leave, because Kriss is my second choice."
My second reason is that it's SO PREDICTABLE. (Spoilers!) You can guess that her project is eliminating castes, that Aspen would come back, and that she chooses Maxon. Actually, I haven't read the One, so I can't confirm this, but it seems obvious.
Third reason: it has no meaning. At the end of the first book, America says, "I'm not choosing you or him. I'm choosing me." WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN?
And Twilight (need I explain?).
And Catching Fire (it was okay, not great or terrible), Mockingjay (most people I know didn't like it actually-it was boring and everybody died), Insurgent (summary of the book: Tris trying to kill herself, Tobias telling her to yo stop), and,
most of all,
THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS.

I was about to say the same thing. I don't like books that have any connection to a life even remotely close to mine, so this book wasn't the best for me.

message 263: by Jill (new)

Jill (themagicofbooks) | 27 comments Nicole wrote: "Twilight, for sure. I remember my aunt getting me the first book when the first movie was coming out, I read 50 pages and was like "Nope!" LOL.

Not really, she just becomes more at odds with herself and continues to be torn between two boys, i mean, cliche much?

message 264: by Jess (new)

Jess (myreadingdress) | 29 comments The Selection and all subsequent sequels. They just did not sit well with me.

message 265: by A. Abriyana (new)

A. Abriyana (batheinthebloodofourenemies) | 5 comments I have to say Daughter of Smoke and Bones and City of Heavenly Fire.Daughter of Smoke and Bones isn't what I expected.I just found it really confusing and creepy and weird.I was so lost at some point in the book that I just gave up and put it down. Funny thing is, I don't think I even hit the one hundred page mark yet. And City of Heavenly Fire was great and all, I just find Clary EXTREMELY annoying now. And it's been like this in the last two books before it too. Another book I'm not really a fan of is Evertrue. I've read the first two and I'm only like 1/4 the way in but UGH Nikky and Jack are THE MOST ANNOYING PEOPLE ON THE PLANET.Like they can call me when they get over themselves.

message 266: by WY (new)

WY Lam (lamwy1997) | 3 comments Fire (by Kristin Cashore), recently.
This was how my reading process of Fire looked:
Start->stuck->proceeded slowly->stuck->proceeded slowly->...->I couldn't take it anymore->stopped at page 221
Ugh, how exhausting it was.

message 267: by Ria (new)

Ria Passion, the 3rd book in the Fallen series. Absolutely terrible.

message 268: by Ria (new)

Ria Also Linger, the 2nd book in the Shiver/Wolves of Mercy Fall series

message 269: by Ricky (new)

Ricky (spider-fan) Twilight, of course, and also the Lux series, and TFIOS.

message 270: by Kavi (kit kat) (new)

Kavi (kit kat) | 5 comments The Twilight, city of fallen angles, panick, crossed ( i really like matched though), and Eragon <--- these books were terrible. i don't even know how other people manage to end them.

message 271: by Ricky (new)

Ricky (spider-fan) Oh yeah, Eragon. Almost forgot. That book was horrid.

message 272: by Kelsey (new)

Kelsey Hmmmm...I'm going to go with Twilight...because its a given. Possibly Eragon..I didn't hate it but he is just so ridiculously descriptive about everything I found myself skipping chapters to finish.

On a side note...I know we're supposed to accept everyone's opinions but every time someone says Harry Potter it hurts down to my core..like seriously..in my soul. That series is my childhood and will always be the best books ever written! Sorry if you do not agree :)

message 273: by Ricky (new)

Ricky (spider-fan) @Kelsey:

message 274: by Nika (new)

Nika | 1024 comments I have to admit, I liked Twilight when I first read it, cause it somehow fitted with my age at that time.. Buuuut I agree, it's terrible^^
And I love HP too and I simply can't understand how somebody doesn't like it.

message 275: by Amanda (new)

Amanda Well, Twiligth of course. It's very boring. But then there are books wich main characters who are totally annoying. I despise Clary and Jace from TMI, so it's very difficult to me like the series. Because that I like TID better. Other books are The Vampire Diaries ( I hate Elena Gilbert) and the Goddest Test. Sorry for my english :3

message 276: by Nika (new)

Nika | 1024 comments Omg the vampire diaries is really, really bad. I don't often think series or movies are better, but in that case it is true!

message 277: by [deleted user] (new)

RIGHT?! The covers are SO cool. Thank you for the input! :) I mean as soon as they [SPOILER]........................ killed the grandfather less than half-way in, I'm like "Oh, come on!" A horrible main character AND this?! *sigh* LOL.

You are so right! :D

message 278: by [deleted user] (new)

Maria Kim wrote: "Also Linger, the 2nd book in the Shiver/Wolves of Mercy Fall series"

That one was reaaaally slow. Which was disappointing, because I LOVED Shiver.

message 280: by Johanna (new)

Johanna Definitely Matched. I hate that book! I couldn't finish it. And Twilight ofcourse. I finished the first book but didn't want to start the second.

message 281: by Shelina (new)

Shelina (sherumi275) | 8 comments Hush Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick
Tiger's Curse by Colleen Houck
Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl

I'm not sure which of the three I find the worst but, my god! Terrible, terrible books.

message 282: by [deleted user] (new)

The maze runner

MacKenzie Drury | 2 comments If I Stay. I seriously hate this book with a passion.

message 284: by Joi (new)

Joi | 198 comments The Fault in Our Stars. I could not finish this book for anything in the world.

message 285: by Nada (new)

Nada (nadae) The Hunger Games most probably and Looking for Alaska

message 286: by Tammie (new)

are you nuts the hunger games are awesome

message 289: by Red (new)

Red (littleredreader) I don't know if it's the worst book I've ever read, but I really did not like The Hunger Games and to be honest, I'm having a tough time with If I Stay. I'm just not motivated to read it even though I like the genre, I'm just easily bored with it.

message 290: by Joi (new)

Joi | 198 comments Tammie wrote: "Joi wrote: "Matched, Hunger Games, The Book Thief"

I didn't like it. I only liked certain characters, and they died...sooo.

message 291: by [deleted user] (new)

I know how you feel, Joi. I didn't like THG either.

message 292: by [deleted user] (new)

The maze runner

message 293: by Joi (new)

Joi | 198 comments Rangergirl819 wrote: "I know how you feel, Joi. I didn't like THG either."

I disliked it so much that it turned me off from other dystopians as well, and I am upset it about that.

message 294: by [deleted user] (new)

Charlotte Corner wrote: "Twilight, that book made me very angry in lots of ways.

Also I hated Uglies"

I agree hush hush by because Fitzpatrick was much better and out near the same time
Twilight isn't good

message 295: by Natalie (new)

Natalie (ncatalie21) | 11 comments The summoning. Or at least, I was under the impression that a lot of people liked it and I ended being kind of disappointed. Also twilight. I mean, I actually like paranormal and I think by those standards it wasn't very good. And then when you compare it with other non-paranormal it's just like...howw?

message 296: by Dana (new)

Dana Lord of the Flies. I don't know if it's considered "popular", but when I read it in school everyone liked it but me. It was terrible. (By the way I also REALLY liked The Maze Runner, If I Stay, The Hunger Games, Uglies, Divergent, and all books by John Green).

message 297: by Sruthi (new)

Sruthi Kuriakose Twilight, Matched, Looking for Alaska, The Lord of the Rings and Huckleberry Finn.

I really liked tfios, hunger games and divergent though.

message 298: by Aisya Raisya (new)

Aisya Raisya (aisyaraisya) | 63 comments fallen and torment by lauren kate. wow I didn't stand with those book.
the vampire diaries too. kinda surprising, im actually love the series. but didn't stand for the book.
and I have to say this, I dont really get Shatter Me by Taherah Mafi, everyone seems in love with this book but i'm not. I think its slow moves and boring and that writing style - -'' dunno I think it just depends on personal taste.
everyone said the next book is much better and fast plot line. Should I give it try bout second book?

message 299: by Annie (new)

Annie (anniesmusings) | 69 comments I wouldn't say it's the worst book I've ever read or anything, I just didn't personally enjoy it. But I didn't like Perks of being a Wallflower.

I also agree with Lord of the Flies and Vampire Diaries (I like the tv show though).

message 300: by Koen (new)

Koen Not sure if it's considered popular but I hated 1984, ugh stupid characters annoying narrative. Yes the message is important but the story is horrible, especially the ending.
