worst book you have ever read that's popular?

Divergent. So many unanswered questions in a world poorly built with a plot that made absolutely no sense. Ugh.
I'm surprised I didn't like The Mockingjay much. The ending sucked and something kept repeatedly happening to Katniss through the novel that was annoying. I love the Hunger Games trilogy as a whole though (if that makes sense).

If I stay. All she did was moan about everything and it was obvious that she would choose to live. She knew that her parents wanted her to live and to go to Juilliard. Adam was in love with her and she loved him so there was no way she was going to die instead of staying with him. It was very predictable and was not worth the time it took to read it. Where She Went was better but still not great.
Divergent... the whole trilogy. Especially the ending of Allegiant!! It wasn't well-written enough to have a kind of plot twist like that. I kind of felt like Veronica Roth wanted to write something that hadn't been written before, so she got the ideas from all the major YA books and put it together.....I mean, there were parts of the books which I liked, but overall I don't quite understand why everyone is soooo crazy about them
The Matched trilogy by Ally Condie. I'm sorry, but I didn't enjoy those books at all. The reviews said all hunger games fans would enjoy them but I don't see how they can say that. The two are nothing alike.
I loved Divergent, only liked Insurgent, but never read Allegiant because the spoilers from that book were ALL over the place when it released. Ruined the story for me :/
I hated the 5th Wave. It was dull and plain boring. I also thought the Matched trilogy wasn't that great either.
Fifty Shades of Pathetic--I mean grey. Bad writing and an abusive relationship, what's not to hate? Also The Kill Order by James Dasher (prequel to the Maze Runner). I'm still planning on reading the series though. This book had very 1-dimensional charactersThe Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen. Same as the kill order,1-dimensional characters.
the infinite moment of us is absolute crap. It was sexist and teenagers who are 17 ( this is a quote from the book) have "sex like bunnies"
this book was like torture to read. The main character was super whiny and bothered me way too much.
All of Rainbow Rowell's books. I read Eleanor and Park, Fangirl, and Attachments this summer and hated them all. I don't know why I even read all three. The writing wasn't any good and the stories weren't great either. I honestly don't understand why they're as popular as they are.
Chelsea wrote: "The House of Night series after the first three or four books were just awful. I wanted to read about vampires, magic, and elements of nature.I did not sign up for "Which boy will Zoey date next?..."
I know what you mean, after the first few books it all just became boys, boys, boys, boys, oh have some life threating disaster but still think about boys.
I love Rainbow Rowell's books. I think the writing is amazing! I don't really care for book 4 from Bloodlines from Richelle Mead. It all became about just the romance which was blech
For me it's If I Stay, which is quite a shame because I went into it with high expectations as I am familiar with the setting of the book. I kept an open mind throughout, but I only enjoyed a few aspects of the story. I really could not connect with any character aside from Adam. In my opinion, Mia is too flat, whiney, and predictable :( I wanted to enjoy this book, but unfortunately I was unable to. P.s. It is not the worst book I've ever read, I just don't see the hype.

I hate forcing myself to read a book and I don't see why it is such and amazing book. As you said, Mia is predictable and whiney. I can't stand characters like that. I might give it another go though if I have nothing else to read.
The Fault In Our Stars.I was expecting it to be a great book that would make me cry, but I didn't even get emotional and I was just like meh when I finished it. I guess contemporary is not my thing, but I will give Rainbow Rowell a try anyway, Fangirl sounds pretty fun.
Sacajawea by Anna Lee Waldo. It's a massive 1300-page book that I had bought and had forced myself to finish to the end. Very disappointing and a extremely tiresome read.
For me, it was Divergent. I feel like it was really overated. The storyline I think was an alright idea but I feel like it wasn't executed very well. So I was disappointed. The idea was interesting but not well-written.
Wasn't that impressed with "Hush, Hush" by Becca Fitzpatrick. It seemed to me to be "Twilight" recycled.
I'm trying to think. In the Young Adult genre, it was probably Mockingjay, to be exact, but out of any book I've ever read, it was Dork Diaries. But if it's not required that you didn't have to read the book all the way because it was so horrible you couldn't finish it, definitely The Iron King.
An Abundance of Katherines by John GreenI felt like the book dragged and all the math just made matters worse
Please no hate - But I just don't get the hoopla over Paper Towns. I think maybe because I really did not like Margo, and I could not sympathize with Q's obsession with her. I thought she was an entitled brat, and Q deserved better.
Easy did and still do not get the hype about this book. It was overrated so unoriginal, not one of my favorites. Not the worst book I have ever read I mean at least I finished it..
Rot & Ruin. I couldn't even finish it because I was so annoyed over the whole "zombies are people too" premise. Alice in Zombieland was pretty terrible too.

An abundance of Katherines, My life next door.I don't hate delirium series but I don't like them either.
Jen wrote: "Divergent I can literally rant about that series for hours!I am glad I am not the only one."
Same! I was actually okay with the second book, but it wasn't particularly enjoyable, and I absolutely REFUSE to read the third book. I've already suffered enough thanks to that series, ha ha ha.
The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky. Even though the narrator is fifteen I felt like I was reading from a ten year olds point of veiw. I just couldn't relate to the story or the narrator at all.
The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight by Jennifer E. Smith, it was just so boring! And this is coming from someone who loves romance ...

I liked the first three, thought the fourth book was okay, but I have little interest in finishing the series.
