The Jolly Elf (thegoblintimes) Requiem(delirium #3)

Jolien | 7 comments I really didn't like the 5th wave

message 203: by Lissa (new)

Lissa (lissalovesbooks) | 1 comments Fallen (Fallen, #1) by Lauren Kate
I just don't understand how this is popular; it's so badly written and the characters are all flat and stupid. I managed to make it through Fallen and Torment before throwing in the towel on the series.

Matched (Matched, #1) by Ally Condie
I wanted to like the book, but I knew exactly what was going to happen just a few chapters into the book. And I was right. Sigh.

Wither (The Chemical Garden, #1) by Lauren DeStefano
I liked the covers of the series. That is all.

message 204: by Michelle (new)

Michelle Herondale (michelle_h2) | 2 comments Fallen :/ I agree 10000% I just hated it but as well as that shatter me I just couldn't get through the first book, the writing just annoyed me every single word was like a poem! It just got on my nerves…

message 205: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Twilight books. I didn't get past the first few pages. I loved the movies but that's it.

message 206: by Dia (new)

Dia Elot 'the fault in our stars ' , 4 words : complete waste of time !. .. the only thing that kept me reading is that i thought there MUST be something interesting coming , there must be something i've missed and everybody liked . but no -_-'

Ayla (ex_libris_ad_astra) Dia wrote: "'the fault in our stars ' , 4 words : complete waste of time !. .. the only thing that kept me reading is that i thought there MUST be something interesting coming , there must be something i've mi..."

I think that £he Fault In Our Stars' strikes some people on an emotional level. If it hits that for you, you love the book. If it doesn't, then I think most people hate it.

I could not get through Matched, and I thought MockingJay was the result of Suzanne Collins just wanting to end the series already.

message 208: by Cassidie (new)

Cassidie (cassidiejhones) | 15 comments 1. Easy.
Way over unrealistic. It's shameful and weak how the aftermath of a rape is described and it has nothing else but woo-hoo.

2. Beautiful Disaster
I actually liked this one until about the half of it. Then I grew tired the constant whining and overdone relationship.

message 209: by Holly (new)

Holly Letson (bookaholicholly) | 3 comments The Fault in Our Stars by John Green - At least, this one was not so bad I couldn't finish it. But, I kept wondering why everyone seems to love it so much, when it really did nothing for me.

Divergent (Divergent, #1) by Veronica Roth - I couldn't even make it to 100 pages in this one, it was so boring. Not even the writing was impressive.

message 210: by thebookishbard (new)

thebookishbard Uglies (Uglies, #1) by Scott Westerfeld I couldn't read past page 30, which i feel in a normal book would probably be page 5. I wanted more thought to be put into the names and felt ridiculous reading "New Pretty Town" so I gave up. I was furious that I didn't like it because I picked up the whole series used and couldn't even read 2 chapters.

message 211: by Karly (new)

Karly | 0 comments Not a big fan of the Matched series or Vampire Academy. Just wasn't my cup of tea...

message 212: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (aconight) Marked (House of Night, #1) by P.C. Cast
My number one most hated book ever.

Bianca (readerbia on BookTok) (readerbia) I tried to like it, I really did. But I couldn't stop my eyes from rolling all the time!

City of Bones (The Mortal Instruments, #1) by Cassandra Clare

message 214: by Megumi (new)

Megumi (megzbrownlee) Worst ending/book ever!

Allegiant by Veronica Roth

message 215: by Fari (new)

Fari (nothingbetterthanbooks) | 33 comments I didn't like Matched. The First book was berable and I finished it but the 2nd book (Crossed) was soooooooooooooooo boring!! It kept on dragging along! Everytime I thought something interesting was going to come up, it went back to its normal boring pace...

Jess Definitely Hush, Hush (Hush, Hush, #1) by Becca Fitzpatrick

Couldn't even finish the book

message 219: by Annie (new)

Annie (AnnieAnnieAnnie) | 807 comments The bone season
Ughh the whole storyline was shallow, the heroine had a standard-YA-personality but worse and, since I've read it in dutch, the translation was TERRIBLE

message 220: by Jenny (new)

Jenny (jennyyyxo) I couldn't get through The Maze Runner.
I read half of it and I had to stop.

message 221: by Jodie (new)

Jodie (redcupcakedream) | 1 comments Before I Die by Jenny Downham
I thought it was badly written and I hated all of the characters.I really don't get why it has so many positive reviews.

message 222: by Kendra (new)

Kendra Marie (kendramarie) shatter me series and daughter of smoke and bone #2......

message 223: by Emily (new)

Emily Heinen | 15 comments Allegiant by far had a) the worst ending, and b) the most boring "climactic" plot EVER.

I also couldn't finish the Scorch Trails; I really loved the Maze Runner but the 2nd one was SOOOO boring

Arghh I so agree with daughter of S&B 2!! I loved the first one and then I started reading number 2 and it was so boring! I could not finish it. It was labelled as a lost cause about 100 pages in :(

KeeksReads (enchromatic) | 1 comments Marked

I could not deal with it. I read the whole thing and I own it, but I'll probably never touch it again.

Same with Divergent and City of Glass (though I did read the first two and liked them).

I hated Divergent so much- it's ridiculous. I just don't like the characters (like wtf is tris doing) or the plot (FOUR??? Really??? And wouldn't everyone be divergent?). I just can't deal with YA sometimes. I also HATED Mockingjay. But I'm a huge Hunger Games fan in general-- I like the story concept, the writing is a little simplistic.

Another one I couldn't stand? Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

I adore the whole series. I'm a huge potter-head. BUT I CANNOT STAND THAT BOOK. I CAN'T. Half-Blood Prince is amazing, but Order is worthy of bullets to the head.

message 230: by [deleted user] (new)

City of Bones (The Mortal Instruments, #1) by Cassandra Clare

Why is it so popular? I don't get it. It just rips off so many better written series...

message 231: by Kendra (new)

Kendra Marie (kendramarie) I absolutely hated Shatter Me....

message 232: by Kristina (new)

Kristina k | 17 comments Things Fall Apart. I just hated it! It was so poorly written.

message 233: by Rin (new)

Rin (nasrinnie) | 56 comments Daughter of Smoke and Bone... Karou was annoying xI and Matched was just... ugh
and Delirium was so typical.
love triangles are so stereotypical IF YOU MUST ADD IT make sure it's really awesome and not oh im such a girl i have feelings for both of them woop dee doo i love you both

-.-

message 234: by Keanna (new)

Keanna | 127 comments ^^^^ I agree! I hated it!

Twilight. It's just..no..

message 235: by Bookworm (new)

Bookworm The One by Kiera Cass. I can't even begin to describe how lackluster this book was for me. The Selection was very decent, The Elite not so much. But The One is just plain awful.

message 236: by [deleted user] (new)

I didn't like Mockingjay. The Hunger Games and Catching Fire were ok, but the Mockingjay was dull and I didn't like the ending

message 237: by Jacki (new)

Jacki (jackimariee) Catching Fire... Loved the other books but Catching Fire was BORING.

message 238: by C.R. (new)

C.R. (thegirlunderthestairs) Fallen... definitely that book I couldn't stand it. I enjoyed the Selection but did not like the other ones, especially the One... uhg. Oh and of course Twilight... hahaha. And I did not like Vampire Academy at all. Maybe I just don't like vampires....

Mollie | 188 comments Twilight Saga.

message 241: by Amirah I. (new)

Amirah I. (amrhidr) EASY by Tammara Webber. Why?
1) The very plot is not at all interesting
2) The main character is pure brainless
3) Too-perfect unrealistic hero with too many skills
4) I just simply don't see any point worth reading it

message 242: by Rin (new)

Rin (nasrinnie) | 56 comments the whole selection series. the covers are pretty but no.
daughter of smoke and bone series! i got it frm the library psyched to read it, but then it got so bland...
delirium... just no.
twilight there's no depth really. i liked the idea of them loving each so fiercely, undying love, but it wasn't very great. To each their own I suppose.

message 243: by [deleted user] (new)

twilight, and Divergent-definetly Divergent. Divergent was good in the fisrt few chapters but it just dragged on. It's like they just needed to add all the circumstances and it was too much. I disagree about Uglies though, though not the best, it was ok

message 244: by Melissa (last edited Jun 28, 2014 04:47PM) (new)

Melissa (aglionby) | 158 comments Haha no offense but the whole Divergent series! The only part I really liked was when Tris sacrificed herself. It was new and refreshing (Tris's death), I would've hated it a lot more if it had that perfect fairy tale ending.

SPOILER FOR MATCHED SERIES!!!! Also I hated Matched, Crossed, and Reached frankly because there was way too much things going on in the book (read my review). Plus I really only liked Xander and Cassia only ever thought about was Ky, Ky, Ky, and MORE KY! She ends up with Ky in simpler terms.

message 245: by Nicole (new)

Nicole (NicoleLeeTV) | 6 comments Twilight, for sure. I remember my aunt getting me the first book when the first movie was coming out, I read 50 pages and was like "Nope!" LOL.

Also, I am about 3/4 through the first book in the Matched series by Ally Condle and I'm not a huge fan. I find the lead character to be really annoying and one dimensional. Has anyone read the whole series? Does it get better?

Well it's just my taste in books, it seems most people love Divergent though.

message 247: by [deleted user] (last edited Jun 28, 2014 04:45PM) (new)

Nicole-
Hi! I read it, and nope. I thought it got progressively worse, and really random- it tried to be all Hunger Games-ey and Delirium-ish, but I just thought it fell flat. It was a pretty depressing and confusing ending, really. Up to you, but I wouldn't bother reading the rest. Don't be lured in by their cool covers! :)

RIGHT?! The covers are SO cool. Thank you for the input! :) I mean as soon as they [SPOILER]........................ killed the grandfather less than half-way in, I'm like "Oh, come on!" A horrible main character AND this?! *sigh* LOL.
