I was really disappointed after reading the Trylle series by Amanda Hocking. I read the amazing reviews for switched and thought that it was a book that I had to read. I managed to read all the three books in the series but was left highly unsatisfied in the end. The writing style is not great and the romance between the main characters is not handled well.

The Iron Fey series from Julie Kagawa. There was a time when the book gets so much hype and I couldn't help but find out for myself and it turned out to be... not my cup of taste. Didn't even finish it. And Shatter Me from Tahereh Mafi. I sensed a love triangle developing and backed off right away. I'm working to give it another shot, though, since everyone seems to be saying that the story keeps getting better. And there was Fallen by Lauren Kate. That, I assume, is popular because many people hate it. Bad characterization, very disturbing romance, and predictable plots in general.

Everybody seems to love Ignite Me but I hated it! The main character became super annoying, the guys were totally different from the other books and it had too much drama and close to no action.
Also Matched by Ally Condie, I haven't even tried reading the sequels. And The House of Night series, I read probably 5 or 6 of them and then I could not take it anymore.

I hated the host by stephenie meyer, I managed to finish it based only on the person who recommended it. But it took well over 300 pages to capture any of my interest and the movie was crap. Also it's not really YA but I disliked the catcher in the rye immensely.

Gone. The story line moved very fast and I couldn't even keep up with the current situation. For example, in the first 50 pages, these are what happened so far: The kids find out the adults disappear, the bullies start to take control, Sam (the main character) denounces them and takes control of himself, they travel everywhere to find abandoned kids, everybody starts to go crazy, they find a five year old that can shoot fire out of her hands and finally Sam finds out he can shoot a burst of light with his own hands. See how fast that moved along? I finally closed the book and never read it again.

I absolutely could not stand The Host by Stephenie Meyer. I found it so boring that I couldn't even finish it. The whole premise of the story was so poorly fleshed out and I just hated everything about the book.

I HATED the book Gone. That story was awful, mainly because the characters were so shallow. The plot was slow and stupid, and nothing ever happened that I couldn't predict.

I was not a fan of "Delirium" so much so that I find it hard to continue on with that series. And I must also take note of the love/hate relationship I have with all things Cassandra Clare, she is just too much for me at times.

Daniela, yes on the hate/love relationship with Cassandra Clare! I am so annoyed with her characters (seriously, are they all so socially stunted that they keep misreading each other?) and the same heartfelt conversations and confessions that get recycled over and over. And yet I cannot stop reading.

I still have not been able to finish The Knife of Never Letting Go even though it got so many awards and glowing reviews. I will give it another go at some point, though.

The Wind Singer by William Nicholson. People have recommended this novel to me for years and I still don't understand why. I love the idea behind it but hate the characters and the way it is written.

Yet people still just keep telling me I'm wrong. Maybe it's just something I don't get.

Can someone explain their dislike for the Fallen series by Lauren Kate? While I personally love the series, I've seen quite a few all over goodreads who adamantly despise this series and only bash it and other authors. No real reasons as to why they didn't like it or constructive criticism. Thankfully no one was that harsh on this thread.

I really haven't come across a series that is popular and I didn't like. However, there's some independent ebook that I didn't care for cause the Writing and set up was so confusing. Don't even remember the name of it

Try to finish the knife of never letting go. it's slow in the beginning but it actually picks up at the end. i wanted to quit reading it when i started it but I'm glad i didn't because the other two books are great.

Been a while since I've read this, but it just dragged on and on and was so horribly cliché at so many points.

Even though I've read all the books and expect to read CoHF. The funny thing is that I love Cassandra Clare's other work; I just want to punch Clary, and I just can't take Jace for his overly snarky attitude and arrogance. AND THEY NEED TO DO IT ALREADY GOOD LORD.

Nora was just effing stupid, and so was Patch, but he was less stupid than Nora.

I actually really enjoyed this one, but the last two I wouldn't mind burning.

It's just so . . . freaking painful to read. You can read my review here but, basically, the characters are annoying and unrealistic, the plot is boring and not original, and I fell asleep a couple of times while reading this. The movie may turn out to be good, though.

Didn't really like White Cat and the Matched series either... I mean Ally Condie should've known about pressing enter two times. Whenever she writes about a flashback, she abruptly returns to the present. Like hello, I can't follow the storyline.

Moving on to White Cat. I couldn't follow the story. It was so boring! All the past tenses and the present tenses writing bothered me because writers are supposed to stick to one kind of writing, either past tense, present tense, and future tense! Anyways, it was boring because it had a lot of unnecessary details. I guess Holly Black likes to elaborate a lot. If he's talking about, say an apple, he rambles on and on about the texture, flavor and appearance of the apple. But I guess I just need a book that I can anxiously wait to find out what happens next.

Harry Potter, I fell asleep just reading the sypnosis, same with lord of the rings.
Fifty shades of grey, absolutely HATED it.
Fallen was ok, but the books that follow just get more and more boring, Could never get into Matched or Halo...
Got halfway through Obsidian and couldn't read anymore, I can barely even remember what it was about it left that little an impression.
Will probably think of some more later.
