What book does everyone seem to love but you absolutely didn't like it at all?

I finished it but it was painful. Tried to start the second one in the series, got through the first 2 chapters and went yeah I can't finish this. Haven't tried again.
Twilight. I felt like I was reading the movie script. It just was not descriptive enough for me. I had to force myself to finish to see what was so great about it and could not find my answer. I even tried reading the second one and only got through the first chapter and stopped. The movies are better.
'fifty shades of grey'. It was the repetitive dialogue that got to me. Ana's response to everything was very limited (Oh, Oh my, Holy cow/crap) and Mr. Grey didn't have a lot to say either (Ana..'you must eat' or 'stop biting your lips') there wasn't any real conversation between them.
Hush, Hush. Everyone I know loved the series, but I just couldn't get into the first book. I struggled to finish it and never read the others. Also, the Gone series. I stopped reading after the 3rd or 4th book. They became so repetitive and silly.
All great opinions! For me i would say Delirium.. I know a lot of people loved it but I just think the plot of the story wasn't a 10/10..

I totally agree with you the 1st book was good, the 2nd made me want to die,the 3rd Okay and the fourth I've slept while reading A LOT and HATED the ending! :D
Halo by Alexandra Adornetto... I mean it was okay. I didn't totally hate it, but it was hard for me to get through because there wasn't a lot of action.. Tho I did like Bethany. I thought she was an interesting character. I own Hades, but I don't know if I'm going to read it. Vampire Kisses was another one. I read them when I was 14. Back then I liked them. I tried reading them again, and I couldn't get through them. I'm not exactly sure why though.
Yuki wrote: "Lord of the rings was boring I think iread the first 5 pages then stopped." Unfortunately have to agree. But I did read The Hobbit. I think I just couldn't connect to it.

I'm looking at it on one of my bookcases, and I can't think of a single thing that happened in it. I think there are more of them! I can't imagine what they're like.

I've never met anyone who disliked this book! May I ask what you didn't like about it? I'm curious.
I felt that the book (in my opinion) is very predictable especially the ending I knew something will end up disastrous knowing the characters were breaking all the laws and stuff , Lauren is a great author all in all :)! Thanks for asking :)!
Aria, the book was very predictable but I think if you can look past that you'll enjoy the book a lot more :) it's well written and to me the story is well developed along with the characters :)
i HATED the fallen series by Lauren Kate! and I just cud not read the host by Stephanie Meyer, bout 30 pages and quit. but I think the movie ruined that book for me, bc I hated the movie.
I didn't like The Host either. Prior to seeing the movie I read about 60-70% of the book and I wasn't impressed. After seeing the movie, I didn't bother finishing the book.
Im not a big fan of the twilight books... But the book that I really really didn't like was Delirium.. It was just not my thing O.o. I thought the plot and the characters were too fake.. I like the idea of the book it's the writing of it that made me hate it
I strongly disliked the Fallen series by Lauren Kate as well, but the one I want to mention here is Matched by Ally Condie. I hated it! Why? Because I had predicted the entire book after simply reading the synopsis. That may sound pretentious, and I'm sorry if if does.Even after I made my predictions, I still tried to get through it. I ended up giving up after getting 1/3 of the way through it. By then I had confirmed my suspicions.
Glad to see I'm not the only one who hated Fallen by Lauren Kate. It's possibly the worst book I've ever read.
I can't stand any of Stephenie Meyer's books. I mean she could at least get an editor or use a thesaurus some of the time.
Fallen by Lauren Kate, 50 shades of grey (don't get me started on that one!), the iron fey series and beautiful creatures...
i have to agree about fallen though....i couldn't get through 30 pages...Iris wrote: "Fallen by Lauren Kate, 50 shades of grey (don't get me started on that one!), the iron fey series and beautiful creatures..."
and iron fey...the only reason i read it was because i had a dare...
Another one for me is the House of Night series. I'm not going to lie, I have quite a few of them (8, I believe.) I don't remember much from the last few; nothing stuck with me. I gave up on these books. They were extremely repetitive and I was always getting bored.
Jacqueline says: I had a similar reaction to Hush, Hush. What do you think it was about the book that made it a struggle to finish?Basically what you said about 50 Shades of Gray.
Jacqueline says: For me, characters really determine whether I like a book...
I never established a connection with any of the characters. I didn't like Nora; I found her to be pretty dull, honestly. I also didn't have a love for Patch like others did. Put Nora and Patch together in a "romance" and no... just no. I was very disappointed with the book. The premise sounded very intriguing, but it didn't live up to the hype for me.
Awee thanks! I wanted to create this thread to truly see what people's opinions are on extremely "popular" novels :)

Though I do like the storyline and how the story develops it's way. Patch wasn't bad and a let down like how Four from Divergent and Ky from Matched were. His character was well still pretty dark and nice. I just like the plot. It wasn't that bad.
Fallen by Lauren Kate. The characters were so stupid that sometimes I just wanted to jump inside the book and punch them.
Hated the series House of Night...My friend recommended it to me, said it was one of the best books she's read in awhile... Last time I'm taking her book recommendations lol. It was really bad.. I read the first
Book (Marked) and after, I think, 50 pages I stopped. The main character said something like : "My lips were blue, skin white and I had blood all over me- hey! I'm patriotic". After that I closed the book and told myself I'll never
Read it again...
Oh! And there's the book beautiful
Creatures.. Couldn't get into it. I stopped in the middle of it, promising to myself that I'll get back to it later... The book is still waiting. Lol
