What Are You Currently Reading? (doesn't have to be an Aussie book)
My favourite is fathead which was used in some book I read as a child and is of course pronounced fat head. I made it all one word as fa-theed. My mum laughed at me and I have always remembered being quite cross about it.
And because it's such a difficult language, your instincts might even have been right, just unlucky for you the word followed a different rule to the one you were applying
Just finished Still Life with Breadcrumbs by Anna Quindlen. I liked it but I was disappointed. Disappointed due to my expectations about the impact I would receive.Onto The Confectioner's Tale by Laura Madeleine.

I doubt it. She will probably retire before she runs out of words. English is a bountiful language :)

Now onto a fave author of mine - Blood on Snow by Jo Nesbø
not very impressed with The Chocolate Promise by Josephine Moon. Too romantic for me. I agree the main character name of Christmas is ridiculous. one line in the book says "He was the only father Christmas had known" not sure if I will bother finishing this book. I rarely never not a finish a novel.
I finished The Last Werewolf by Glen Duncan. Interesting:)

Currently reading An Abundance of Katherine's by John Green.I've read and re-read his book, The Fault in our Stars, I loved that book a lot.
However, his Katherine book, I'm finding it slightly harder to get into.
I've read already five chapters and with a lot of Math related references, it's making it rather a mundane read.
That mixed with some depressive dark moments.
Hoping for it to get more interesting.
John Green is an amazing writer, maybe it's just me.
Anyone else read this book? How did you find it?
Jessica
I just finished readingI, Morgana
and really enjoyed my trip back in time with a this new take on the Arthurian legend.
I just finished a novel from South Africa called Settle Down Now. I am now reading A Corpse in the Koryo, set in Pyongyang,North Korea.
I've been reading a lot of short stories lately. Currently on Anita Desai's The Artist of Disappearance. Enjoying it so far. Peter Goldsworthy's The List of All Answers is next.

Maybe I'll have to give your fiction book a try. What period is it set in? Or is it contemporary?

I had seen you post about Nothing to Envy: Ordinary Lives in North Korea and added it to my TBR. A Corpse in the Koryo is contemporary - the general theme is solving a murder in a country where the law is essentially whatever the leader feels like that day.
