Kelly Batten | 35 comments i've been reading Christina Lauren's Beautiful series. it's SO GOOD i've been binge reading it over the last few days...

but then I also started reading Walt Whitman's Leaves of Grass. saw it in the library and i had to have a go. was it in The Notebook or The Wedding by Nicholas Sparks? or Paper Towns by John Green? something.

i love when i find books characters read in the books I read. it gives a strange connection to them, you know? =) and speaking of Paper Towns... who's pumped for the movie?? I am!

I've not read any books by China Miéville but I have The City & the City sitting on my unread shelf that I plan to read sometime soon. I hope it's one of his better books :)

Good to know I've made the right choice. I purchased this book on whim a while ago, not really knowing a lot about the author or writing but heard of his name mentioned around the traps :)

Kathryn | 3569 comments Hope you enjoy that one, Dale. I read it last year - not Monica McInerney's best, in my opinion, but should hold your interest.

Thanks to Melissa, I have started A Corpse in the Koryo - novel set in North Korea. I'm not far in, but enjoying it so far.

B the BookAddict (bthebookaddict) Finished New York by Edward Rutherfurd Only a 3.5★ rating from me. It featured much less human drama than his Paris effort and New York was a little dry as a result. Native New Yorkers might not agree with me.

Started Falling Angels by Tracy Chevalier

I thought that was a fantastic book too- so emotionally involving! I was in a group that was bushwalking and abseiling around Armidale (NSW) which included Tom Kenneally while he was researching the subject matter for this book. He would have got a very good idea of the terrain that he featured in the book from those experiences. I wasn't a friend of his but enjoyed listening to him chat while walking. He seemed to know something about every topic under the sun!

S.M. Spencer (smspencer) | 23 comments I'm reading "Heaven's Waiting Room" by Clare Wilson - set in and around London.

I'm nearly done, and I'm pretty sure it's gonna be a 5 star review! LOVE it so far and would recommend it to any YA reader.

message 14032: by Kay (new)

Kay | 9 comments The Orphan ChoirI've finished Orphan Choir and Up a Tree in the Park at Night with a Hedgehog and got stuck into The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins. Orphan was interesting but flawed but the Hedgehog story (you won't believe the title until you read the last page!) was almost perfect for me. Hedgehog was truly un-put-down-able as far as I was concerned, conveying the sense of life going out of control for a young adult, but in a dry, humorous style. The Train Girl is getting more and more gripping, the further I read. Should make for an interesting review, I think, although it will be difficult to avoid spoilers.

Sally906 | 87 comments I've just finished a light and fluffy read All I Want for Christmas is You by Lisa Mondello - a sweet little 4 star read.

Next up is Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell - but as it is part of my Winter Challenge I can't touch until tomorrow - so will continue on with my other read Letters from Skye by Jessica Brockmole which is well on track to being a 5 star read.
