Yes "the Road Back". Too pedestrian for me contemporary fiction. Wish Di would write like in her early years when you could not put her book down.

Finished reading "in The Middle of Nowhere" Autobiography by Terri Underwood. 5/5 excellent read if you are into Australian authors living in remote areas of Australia. Loved this book.

I hope you both love it Veronica.

Will do a review in the next couple of days
Have just started Talon by Julie Kagawa

Started China Dolls by Lisa See; a different type of novel for me this time.
I finished The Redbreast by Jo Nesbø. Highly recommended:)

It's always a shame when a book you have high expectations for let's you down :(

Mine opens with safari and works really well. I don't like the app either - not for accessing groups anyway.
I just finished The Tea Chest by Josephine Moon.

Oh, that's bizarre, Dale. I always use Safari when on the iPad and the box for the book links comes up for me after I press the "add book/author" link.
Mind you, I did have something coming up a while ago saying that GR wouldn't work after a certain date unless I upgraded my browser (which I haven't done and it's still working so far!), so unless there is something like that happening for you, Dale...
Technology - it's just more of a hassle sometimes, isn't it?

Oh dear, I have The Tea Chest down for my Aussie Author Challenge... But maybe I should take it on holidays on my cruise in Jan to read by the pool...

Or maybe not - all the copies in my library are out on loan with none due back until after I leave! Unless someone returns one early...

That was a bug Kathryn...I had it and when I went to the Feedback group, so did a lot of other people. It's fixed now:)

That's good to hear Marianne!!

If I'm on the Internet on iPad the links work - same with iPhone - but if I'm using the App then no linking is available, and you can't reply to posts either - you can still comment just not reply. I usually only use the app to read posts or post reading updates

Mine isn't any better when I open it in Safari. Same as I can't reply to a specific person's post and other little things. Used to be able to do all, so not sure what changed. Have just come to the conclusion that I was never really meant for the technological age!
As for the tea chest,I thought it was a good light read if a little predictable at times, but a friend who always reads books to the end, unlike me, gave up on it. So, maybe it is just one of those books that people either like or they don't. Or that you have to be in the right mood for.

There are some references to previous cases, so probably spoilers. I still intend to read the first three....
Finished The Miniaturist and was unimpressed. Just had a quick look at other reviews and discover I am not alone:)

Well that was a shame.

What is Netgalley?

It's a website where publishers make available advance copies of books for review. You need to join and set up a profile and tell them where you post your reviews and then you can request copies of books. Some publishers require you to be a professional reviewer, blogger, librarian or educator but some are quite happy if you post to GR and Amazon as well as on Netgalley. Some of them will pre-approve you; others you wait for an email saying you can download the book. I can't give you the link at the moment but if you Google Netgalley you'll find the website.

what a shame Marianne, now I understand why you read it. On reading your review was wondering how you came across it ;)
