Finished Citadel Labyrinth #3 by Kate Mosse 3★ I found this novel a bit too long and that's odd for me because I adore long stories. But the length of the book devalued the element of suspense that I usually feel in WWII Resistance stories; it was just too dragged out.

I am still reading The Maxwell Sisters by Loretta Hill which I am really enjoying.
I am still reading The Maxwell Sisters by Loretta Hill which I am really enjoying. Today I will be starting The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry by Rachel Joyce ( hoping I like it as much as everyone else has because I have the next one The Love Song of Miss Queenie Hennessy: A Novel on order at the library!)
I am also going to start Beyond the Dark by Angela Knight et al - a paranormal romance anthology.
An eclectic start to the year :)

I started Us by David Nicholls this morning and I am half way already. It is so good! It has made me laugh out loud many times and nearly cry once or twice. It reminds me very much of The Rosie Project.

Just finished Quota, 3.5 stars, would have loved to have liked it a little more. Happy to have found another Aussie author though!

Suzanne, I obviously liked it more than you did, although it certainly didn't go where I expected. What did your Dad think of it?

I was wondering what you thought of the end too Marianne, I wasn't expecting it either. He liked it too, but when I saw him at Christmas it had been too long since he'd read it and lost the excitement of telling me what he'd thought, and also had probably read too many since! Candice Fox was the latest author he raved about, he thought the story of her not conforming to Navy life was amusing as he was in the Navy when I was very young.

FYI One Day is nothing like The Rosie Project
FYI One Day is nothing like The Rosie ProjectI can see where Phrynne's comment about being reminded of that while reading Us comes from, though

That's right Marianne. The main character in Us is an over achiever with poor social skills a bit like Don and his wife has a lot of the same behaviours as Rosie. The humour comes from the same place too.

"Did you like Christmas Magic Kiera?"
Christmas Magic was fun, but I expected more 'Christmas' from it. Not many Chrissy stories in there at all, unfortunately.
