That's good Marianne! That's a series I haven't started...often wondered about it, then read a couple of negative reviews and put it off again;)

James Fry | 4 comments I am currently reading Hitler's Beneficiaries by Gotz Aly. Despite there being a plethora of books on Hitler and his sinister comrades in arms in circulation, this is the first non-fiction piece I have read that focuses on explaining why so many generally decent and intelligent Germans ended up supporting such an evil regime.

A great piece of work, particularly given Aly's ability to present a fair amount of supporting statistics in a way that is still highly engaging.

Hitler's Beneficiaries: Plunder, Racial War, and the Nazi Welfare State

Haha! I was a bit behind in my reviews Carolyn, because of Christmas. No time to write reviews, just read books;)

I didn’t have time to read in the last couple of days because of the busy Christmas period, but I’m back onto it again and it is very fascinating Mary.

The second one was not quite as good as the first but by the third the author is really flying and I have great hopes for a very exciting finale!

B the BookAddict (bthebookaddict) I've started Citadel by Kate Mosse; it's book #3 in the Labyrinth trilogy. I haven't been able to get my hands on book #1 Labyrinth yet but have read and really enjoyed #2 Sepulchre. Each book can be read as a standalone novel.

I have ignored these books so far due to the fact that Labyrinth gets such bad reviews. A lot of people say her writing is awful although the story is good. What do you think Bette?

Well, I liked the writing in Sepulchre; it's not a fantasy book although sometimes shelved as that. So far, Citadel is good; in French Resistance of WWII at the moment.
