Shane I'm now reading...
Ghost Story by Peter Straub
The first 80 pages has me very compelled to read on every chance I get.
This will more than likely be a 5star horror read for me... And I LOVE my horror stories :)

Yes, mostly white...it's annoying that someone did that!

Neko Are we allowed to add in that cover as well? I don't see why we can't? Or is it because it's a preview copy that we couldn't? Mine has a sticker in the cover saying 'promotional copy only'.

Also another of her books the cover has changed completely as well :/

I'm going to go to the librarian group and ask...if I do it I'm bound to get into bother!

message 10860: by Neko (new)

Neko Yes! That is exactly the cover I have in front of me at the moment.

Oh..would they make a fuss if you did without asking?

message 10861: by Brenda, Aussie Authors Queen (new)

Brenda | 80001 comments Mod
Yes, I'm not exactly sure of the protocol...I know you're not allowed to change covers over for the very reason that we are facing...someone owns the original cover (ours) and it's not supposed to be changed.

I have just started a new thread in the librarian group with the picture of our cover...we will see what happens:)

message 10862: by Neko (new)

Neko Ah fair enough. Cool..Will probably get an answer fairly quickly too :) Thanks for making that thread!

A friend of mine has just recommended this author to me, she said her books are fantastic! I'll be adding to my list to read..

message 10867: by Ace (new)

Ace (aceonroam) I've got a few books on the go at the moment, all competing for time on my phone, my tablet and my coffee table. Too many books, so little time! And my library is only about a 3 min walk away!!!!

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9975 comments I'm very much enjoying Bones Never Lie:, as much as some of her earlier books. I think Andrew Ryan is one of the magic ingredients, love their banter. Having a hard time doing chores....... yes, I know, Dale, they will still be there when I finish the book, no household fairy here to do the work, and hubby is cursing his Mac because something is amiss.....

Carolyn | 9840 comments Really enjoyed this debut novel, an epic family saga set in Spain from 1920-1975, right from before the Spanish Civil war to the death of Franco The Poet's Wife by Rebecca Stonehill. I don't think I've read much about the Spanish civil war before - certainly haven't given much thought as to what it would have been like to live under such oppression for so long.

message 10884: by Margaret (new)

Margaret | 17 comments I have just finished reading Allison by Steve Gannon. Not an Aussie author, but I just had to share here.

I got this one as a freebie and it is an amazing read. An engaging, well written story with great character development. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a bit of mystery mixed in with a complex family / coming-of-age storyline. Yes, it is a real mixed bag but beautifully executed.

HalcyonDaze | 7 comments Having just finished Saints of the Shadow Bible by Ian Rankin, I have started on The Artists Way by Julia Cameron. It is a twelve week program of releasing one's creativity through a series of daily and weekly activities. I have read through the introduction and will be starting on week 1 this coming Monday. I would be interested to hear from anyone else who has read the book and tried the program. It did come recommended.
