Just finished Eeny Meeny interesting! Here's my review:

Now onto The Rosie Effect, looking forward to it. Am I the only one around here not to have read it?!
Michael wrote: "Thanks Brenda and magic coin. :D"I love the magic coin idea, I've been tempted to ask the same thing from time to time!

I certainly will do. Thanks!!
Brenda wrote: "I haven't yet Suzanne...it's only just been released:) Did you read The Rosie Project first?"Yes I read it a while back by stumbling across it here. I haven't started The Rosie Effect as too much to do around here... ;(
I'm still reading: The Thorn Birds by Colleen McCullough which I started reading with a GR friend at the end of last month. Although I feel this book is taking me quite awhile to get through it is a book that shouldn't be hurried. I can't believe that I've not read this book as I know many have read it years ago. This is a brilliant book and one that I am thoroughly enjoying and I really don't want it to end :(
It is Sharon - I haven't read it for a very long time, and should really read it again...it's fabulous from memory!
I finished The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch. It was pretty good.

I'm really trying to get into The Chinese Takeout but it's just not doing for me. It's really quite slow and things feel drawn out when they shouldn't be. I'm past the 50page mark and thinking of giving it the flick considering it 446 pages worth.Argh..Not sure what to do :|

Too many books out there to read what isn't doing it for you Laura!

Yes, totally true! Might stash it away then look at it when all my other books are read...hahaha...means it will never happen! xD
Laura wrote: "I'm really trying to get into The Chinese Takeout but it's just not doing for me. It's really quite slow and things feel drawn out when they shouldn't be. I'm past the 50page mark and..."I'd give up. Life is too short to read books you're not enjoying.
I finished Festive in Death by J.D. Robb late last night - 5★s

I have just completed my review of Us by David Nicholls Review : https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
finished my review of Wife on the Run but will wait until closer to the pub date to post it. But 5★s from me (ignoring the many, many typos).

Hopefully they will be fixed prior to publication Marianne...ours was an uncorrected proof wasn't it?

Marianne wrote: "yes it was, but I have never encountered so many typos in a proof copy before..."I wonder does that tell you something about the author and how much editing needs to be done? I had an uncorrected proof of Barracuda, which was shocking as far as errors went then got one of Burial Rites in which I hardly noticed any typos. I have an uncorrected proof of this one too so it'll be interesting to read. I don't mind them too much if I know it's an uncorrected proof, it's when you read an edited book and there's lots of typos that definitely shouldn't be there, that really annoys me!!!
Mish wrote: "I have just completed my review of Us by David Nicholls Review : https://www.goodreads.com/review/show..."
Great review, Mish; can't wait to read it. One Day is a personal favourite, too (and I actually thought the movie did it justice).
Tango wrote: "I'm loving The Valley of Amazement. Love Amy Tan!"I've had this on my TBR since publication, but I'm a little nervous about reading it. I've always adored Amy Tan, but really disliked Saving Fish from Drowning when I read it a couple of years ago. The Valley of Amazement does sound good though.

I actually contacted the publishers about the errors in Mothers and Daughters..

I agree about the movie, it was very true to the book. I have Starter for Ten and The Understudy also by David Nichollssomewhere in my TBR bookcase...

I will too.
I got a book once for free through Amazon and the formatting was TERRIBLE..Like words stuck together and then hugely spaced apart...I thought it was embarrassing for the writer to have such a poorly formatted ebook :|So, I think it never hurts to contact the publisher if you see something looking terrible!
I've written up my reviews for:Driving In Neutral by Sandra Antonelli
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
And
The Spirit of Imagination by S.A. Tawks
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I am now reading Frontier Resistance by Leonie Rogers which I am enjoying so much that I am slightly neglecting Reluctantly Charmed by Ellie O'Neill (is ok but it is not grabbing me) and Tumbledown Manor by Helen Brown (which has grabbed me but I am ignoring it's whimpering)

Actually, I got a very nice email back from Fiona herself, telling me most of the typos have been fixed. So that's good. But I do have a question for you after you've read yours....

quite the opposite of this month's challenge, I am reading what I term mature women's chic lit:
by Liz Byrski. Love her books, can really relate to them...

Really hoeing into THE DINNER by Herman Koch. It's razor sharp and frighteningly plausible. I'm probably the last one to discover it but glad I have.
Oww.. I just finished reading a short story Sex, Drugs and on the Dole by Australian author Dale Bateman. Despite several shortcomings, I actually quite enjoyed the book :) Here's my take on the short story :) https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...
