All great reads Angela!

If you enjoy Three Men in a Boat and you don't mind a bit of time travel you might also enjoy To Say Nothing of the Dog by Connie Willis. It's based on Three Men in a Boat and is quite funny.

message 10628: by B the BookAddict (new)

B the BookAddict (bthebookaddict) The Blazing World by Siri Hustvedt; abandoned at Pg 286. Frankly, I'm over Harriet Burden and all her personas. I'm over her anger at the art world being expounded at me, and the footnotes, oh the footnotes. I can't continue reading this book for the same reasons I can never finish a DFW book. It's the 'all about Harry' themes, her self obsession and her rage that I'm finding so wearing. Not sure I've explained myself properly but...

message 10629: by B the BookAddict (new)

B the BookAddict (bthebookaddict) I've started The Gravity of Birds by Tracy Guzeman; a perfect antidote to The Blazing World.

Liam || Books 'n Beards (madbird) Still going on The Lies of Locke Lamora - really enjoying it but it's taking me a while.

Which I will get to eventually. Too much happening in the school holidays, especially living so close to Wet n Wild....

I have this sitting on my shelf - thanks to Elaine bringing me a copy when she came up here to visit! I'm thinking it might make a nice, light, beach read when I go up to the Sunshine Coast in about 6 weeks. Will look forward to seeing what you think of it, Brenda.
