Oh but I wanted to make it virtually nice Brenda as I won't be there for much of the virtual celebrations...due to reality in the form of house guests! ;)

Interesting to read your review Brenda. I've read nearly all of the Jack Reacher books, and would call myself a fan, but I have been a little underwhelmed the latest issues.

I've heard some good things about this but won't be reading it as some darling at work gave the whole plot away for me :(

I didn't say anything. Just turned and walked away. I haven't asked her what she is reading since. Although my boss says I should wait until she reads a book I've read and helpfully tell her the ending. Sadly I'm not that nasty :)

I finished Before Nightfall by Rachel Amphlett late last night - 5★s

I can! That's why I'm really careful reading reviews before I get a book. Once I didn't even get to the reviews, I was scrolling down the Amazon page to look at something about the author, and the first quote pulled out from reviews by the top of the section told what happened to the main character at the end! That sucked...
Though in person, yeah, that I haven't experienced.
I also finished Writing Home by John Zanetti this morning. 4.5★s

I see this can be downloaded free from the Smashwords link on John Zanetti's author page, so it's already on my kindle.
Thanks John - look forward to reading it :)

You're not alone. I spent a lot of time this week playing Minecraft.

So I am going to read Unreal! by Paul Jennings - and if that doesn't cheer me up then I really am a lost cause haha!

brutal treatment of African slaves on the sugar plantations. It is written in vernacular which takes a while to get used to but is quite original and engaging.
I finished Bones Never Lie by Kathy Reichs. It was good. If you follow the series you must read this one - big event at the end:)

Don't forget to post all the books you received in the other thread so we can be suitably jealous!
