Yes they are! I actually wrote to the Editorial Manager of The Reading Room about when reviews were supposed to go up and he said if it's not specified by the publisher, 2 weeks prior to publication is what is recommended:)

I've just re-shelved The Love of a Good Woman by Alice Munro, which I was reading for Wall St Journal Bookclub. It's a collection of short stories, and I finished the first three (including the eponymous story, which is almost a novella in its own right). Not my cup of tea at all :-(

When you rate a book, a little window will pop up just above the stars saying "Thanks... Write a review". Click on that, it will take you to review page. After you've written the review, scroll down till you find the 'Save' button. It's best to write review in Word program first and 'copy and paste' into Goodreads.

There is an alternate way to get into Review which someone else can explain - it's still 4am here and not all my brain is awake yet:)
