Brenda, I thought you had read The Husband's Secret already. Well, I'm halfway and OMG!!! Elaine knows the secret. [author:Lia..."
I hope you like it/her Brenda, when you do read it. I think I would read anything written by her now. I have a few to catch up on.

Isn't that funny - I liked The Husband's Secret more than What Alice Forgot. I still enjoyed What Alice Forgot, I just enjoyed this one more - it seemed more twisty in the turns it took!!

I'm sure I will Elaine, thanks:)

I really think it just happened to resonate with me more than this one, Kathryn. I guess it may have had something to do with the timing of when I read it as well. Maybe if I had a really huge secret like the one in this book I may have related more to this one!! Mind you the difference in how much I liked each one is only minuscule...1/2 a star actually.

I agree - it totally depends on where you are in life at the time you read and what's happening with you. However, I don't have a big secret, and I don't think there's really anything particular in the characters resonating with me. I think it was probably just the writing in this one - the plot seems very clever (HOW do people come up with these things??!!) and the characters are so skilfully written.

Actually, I've read all her books and enjoyed every one, but I do think they are getting better each time.

Well it will be interesting to see what we all think of her new one then. I'm hoping to read her others before this one comes out in July.

Then this Big Little Lies might end up being my decider for the winter challenge...AA new release.

Ha,ha!! How did you go Julie? You know once you start it, it's really hard to put down. Let us know your thoughts when you're done. Hope we haven't built it up too much for you but I don't think so. It really is a good read. :)

Finally have an Aussie release date for it too on our Title Page at work. 22nd July 2014. Can't wait. I've already pre-ordered my copy!!!

Lol...I made a good start, and like the way she writes..very conversational. But I couldn't keep reading knowing I was going out this morning...a fact which in itself then kept me awake half the night and trying not to reach for the book! It will have to wait ;)

I also loved The Husband's Secretand have also pre-ordered the Big Little Lies ebook from Amazon for the AA new release book in the Winter challenge!
We could have a giant buddy-read in July!!!

Just starting The Chemistry of Tears so I will have read it before the ABC Bookclub. I like knowing what the panel are talking about whenever possible. Some of the books they choose sometimes are not my cup of tea though:)

God I loved that book. Probably on a part with FIOS.

I am enjoying it - very different to her previous books that I have read. I've had to totally put aside what I expected it to be like and read with new eyes.

Indeed! I had almost no time to read during the semester, so its lovely having some time for leisure reading now :)
Less textbooks more novels next semester, for sure.

I finished The Chemistry of Tears by Peter Carey today and it was not even in the same ball park as Oscar and Lucinda. I struggled to believe they were written by the same author.

It only got a 2.98 rating and I can see why now.

Yes - I only saw the rating after I had read the book. I usually never read anything under 3.5 unless someone I trust has recommended it. I will be interested to see how the panel go with it on Tuesday night.

I am glad you include Bliss as one of his good ones as I had included it in my Winter Challenge list to read soon.

Hope you enjoy Saving Grace, Dale. I'm nearly finished the second one in this series Time Will Tell and I'm really enjoying it.

It was Ok but could have been better. I got a bit frustrated with the main character and was expecting something to happen to shake her up but it didn't.
