I'm the author of the novel Save Yourself, to be published in August 2013 by Crown Publishing, which is a heartwarming story about a boy man and his dog teenaged stalker. It's also about a bunch of people wondering what to do about their parents, and what to do about their children, and what to do about money, and what to do about God. There's also a few bits about Led Zeppelin, and a few bits about zombie movies, and one slightly disturbing story about an orca attack at SeaWorld which is mostly true, and which I witnessed as a seven-year-old Brownie scout. Oh, please, not another List

Yeah. Sorry.

Anyway, I just posted my quick-and-dirty reviews of the best books I read in 2012. Which doesn't mean that they were published in 2012, just that that's when they came to to the top of the pile. I recommend all of them wholeheartedly.

“Logic is what the devil likes most.”
Kelly Braffet, Josie and Jack

“It wasn’t so much that I thought there was nowhere to go, in this huge city; but with so many places to go, where were you supposed to begin?”
Kelly Braffet, Fabulous Things

“The store was filled with hollow-eyed people standing in line: at the sandwich counter, at the soda fountain, at the register. All of them waiting, waiting, their hands full of candy, chips, cups of coffee, money. It was like purgatory, with snacks. Not just the customers; the employees, too. They worked the registers, squirted ketchup on hot dogs, piled limp lettuce onto flaccid lunch meat and waited for it to be over, waited until they could go home.”
