Julie - messages seem to come out in italics when a linked title or author in the quoted section is cut off part way through. So looking at your message, it looks like the last part of Ken Follett's name wasn't included which has made what you typed italicised. If you deleted back to "by", as I have in this message, then your message would be un-italicised. Does that make sense or have I been too muddled in my explanation?

Oh that happened to me too with one of my messages. I tried deleting but it still didn't work but maybe I didn't delete back far enough. It's quite annoying when that happens!!! Thanks Kathryn for the heads up. :)

Although strangely enough, your message, Elaine, and this one, both have a linked title that isn't complete, but no italics in the rest of the message... Maybe it's not as simple an answer as I had thought... Or maybe it's only when a linked author is cut off...

Or maybe there has to be a certain amount of the title/author before it italicises the rest of the message... I'm not sure how it works exactly, or why it doesn't when there are problems!!

I thought it may have had something to do with the link to the book. And another weird thing, when I followed it the link was in Arabic!!!

Strange. I'm afraid that's the limit of my knowledge, Julie - I can't explain why editing doesn't work!!

I seem to be reading quite a lot of Nora Roberts at the moment. Not sure why. Anyway here is my review of Blue Dahlia

Kathryn | 3569 comments I started listening to The Independence of Miss Mary Bennet by Colleen McCullough today. I'm not very far in yet, but it is already not a light and happy read. For anyone who loves their Jane Austen and believes in a life where the Pride and Prejudice characters get the lives hinted at in the end of P&P, this book is not for you. For anyone who has read any of Amanda Grange's works like Pride and Pyramids - this book is almost diametrically opposed to Amanda's style.

I'm not sure whether I like it or not yet - it's different to what I was expecting and I still need to get my head around it...

Kathryn, as much as I have enjoyed Colleen McCullough's books, I just don't think I could cope with my beloved P&P characters "tampered with"! So I will be interested to hear your final thoughts.

Sally, I did read Fall of Giants first and enjoyed it. I'm glad someone else finds Follett 'dry'; I thought it was just me.

Have The Pillars of the Earth waiting on my coffee table for me.

I just finished Shift and enjoyed it, but I'm waiting for Dust to come out in regular paperback size, cause the big ones take up so much room on the shelf!

At the moment I'm reading The Edge of the Woods on my Kindle. Really enjoying it so far -- a gentle fantasy makes a nice change after all the dystopian stuff I've been reading lately.

Have picked up The Tea Chest by Josephine Moon in its place.

B the BookAddict (bthebookaddict) I've started The Constant Princess by Philippa Gregory which is the story of Catherine of Aragon; the first wife of Henry V111.

I'm heavily into the British Royal family early history at the moment.

That's funny Dale. As someone who is really into knitting, sewing and crafts, I strangely tend to avoid those books! For some reason I have a negative attitude towards them.

I get her email newsletter and there was a link to it in that. Nice to get a freebie now and then, isn't it! I seem to be the only review so far, but you'll probably read in in ten minutes and have it reviewed in 15, LOL! The excerpt spurred me on to order Leaving Time, out in October.
