Certainly shows Michael and Jo how much things have changed over the years. Appalling treatment back then.

Sally906 | 87 comments I have just started reading a non-fiction book:

Adventures with the Wife in Space Living With Doctor Who by Neil Perryman Adventures with the Wife in Space: Living With Doctor Who by Neil Perryman

Neil Perryman is a Doctor Who fan who get really exited when after a break of 16 years BBC brings a new series back to the small screen. He discovers his wife had never seen the snow and somehow this results in the two of them watching every episode ever made and he blogged about her reactions. The blog has now evolved into this book. Am only a little way in but enjoying it.

What did you think of The Book Thief Marianne?

Brenda, this was my 2nd reading, I just wanted to refresh my memory which is getting worse as I get closer to 60.....what was I writing about? Oh yes, before I see the movie....I loved it last time and that hasn't changed. Will post a review soon. But definitely 5 ★ s. If you haven't read it, the narrative voice and style takes a little getting used to, but it is worth persevering. I do wonder how the illustrations come across in the kindle version, it would be a shame to miss out on those.

The idea of Death being the narrator puts me off reading 'The Book Thief' but I will see the movie (might have the courage to tackle the book after that). However, I am thrilled that the author is enjoying such outstanding success.

It's not really distressing to my mind - it's just a narrator with a difference. He sure is having success though, he's a brilliant author!

Kathryn | 3569 comments I finished Unforgivable by Sharon Robards. A sobering and compelling story of unmarried pregnant women sent to Catholic homes to give birth and forced to relinquish their babies for adoption in Australia in the 1960's. It is also the story of the Catholic church striving to stay relevant in the changing social landscape, and the struggles of one nun's faith, vocation, emotions and attempts to do the right thing in the face of opposition.
