Julie I have reserved the girl in the shadows from the library. I didn't know there was a book before this one. I will have to look up the library and see if the previous book is there.

Jo wrote: "Yay! The book Behind the Sun is available at the library so will be able to read this one first."Yay!! Good for you Jo, I hope you enjoy them...you will more than likely appreciate not having to wait for the second one to come out...good story ;-)
Thank you Julie. I read the review about The Girl in the Shadows in Good Reading Magazine and thought it was going to be a good read.
I'm reading two books at the moment. The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch - a collection of thoughts and life lessons learned by a man diagnosed with pancreatic cancer - things he'd like to pass on to his kids but he's not going to have the time to do this because his time alive is rapidly drawing to an end. It's interesting (and I'm loving the short, bite-sized chapters that can be read in brief moments throughout the day), but I've also started And the Mountains Echoed by Khaled Hosseini and The Last Lecture is taking a bit of a back seat to this. I'm drawn into the stories of the characters and I just want to keep reading it (longer chapters notwithstanding)!!
I received And the Mountains Echoed as a Christmas gift Kathryn and I'm looking forward to reading it sometime soon. I enjoyed his other books as well. I look forward to reading your review :)
