Thoughts after "The Elite": Team Maxon or Team Aspen?
I'm going with the king bc he's a bit of an arse. If they kill off someone it's usually someone you love but not the main character. Like maybe the queen ♔ or Mr. Singer. But I'm still goin with America getting hurt during a rebel attack or one of them taking her hostage until they get theJournals. But then I don't if that would work bc hen the whole book would be too short to just be about rescuing her. Man it's late I come up with crazy ideas. But when I think of Celeste all I see is ☠. (Not a pirate, though)

I agree. Celeste has always bragged about her status and beauty. I really don't like her at all, like many others. Including America.

AGREED! This is probably one of the first times in a book where I DON'T like the heroine! HAHAHHA America a heroine.....never mind, let's stick with protagonist....
OK, just to clarify, America never planned to join the rebel or actively seek out riding them of the Caste system right? I know she proposed it to the world, so yeah she wants to do it. But that's all right? I am just making sure we are all just speculating and running off of everyone's comments. I don't recall her wanting to join the rebels.
Totally agree with Pearl I was pissed too, I mean if my boyfriend told me that he cannot trust me after I found him cheating one me with the person I had the most I probably would have smacked him in two seconds . So that is why I would totally be on Team Aspen! I mean at least he doesn't cheat ugh it really ticked me off!!!
But is it really cheating under the circumstances? It's like the bachelor, he has to date or what not everyone to an extent.

And at what Mariyem said, first off, what did Pearl say? and 2nd...Its not like Maxton has a choice, he cant only date one person so he kinda has to cheat...because its the selecion, but I agree if Maxton wasnt in the Selection and cheated on me with Celeste...mmm, Id smack him too! He is part of the Selection- the one who selects- and therefore he is going to cheat if he has to get to know all of the girls well. I think it is kind of impossible to avoid for him.

As someone who has always cursed with shipping the Underdog, I can tell you the typical love story is the girl ending up with the main love interest or the Prince type character. Obviously, in this series it's Maxon and Aspen has been the Underdog for the majority of the series.
From the moment that America began to have romantic feelings for Maxon, I knew she was going to end up with him. Like you said, the fact that she has spent so much time in the Selection and has so much potential of shaking up the foundation of Elia, that I don't doubt she will pick Maxon.
I would applaud Kiera for eternity if she threw a twist in there and did something like get America kicked out of the Selection or made her voluntarily leave, made her chose Aspen, and made her a key player for the Northerners who seem to be looking to expose the truth about the corrupt roots of the government and convince the people to rebel.
Who knows maybe the King will kick her out last minute and she will join the Northerners to overthrow him, both to get rid of the the unfair system and to be able to get Maxon.

That would be so awesome! (This is in response to Diana's earlier comment- number 458). We could make scenarios for the actual book. I doubt that she looks at this, though. Anyway... I want to do a survey on percent of people that are for Team Maxon vs. Team Aspen. I think Maxon would have much larger percentages. What do you all think?
i think your rite but if she did put America with Aspen it would be so stupid because most of the people who read these books like Maxon a whole lot more then Aspen plus why write the book the whole point is that America was with Aspen after 2 years then she comes to the Selection and ends up with Maxon i mean why bother putting America in the Selection if shes not going to win

That would be pretty pointless for her not to win The Selection, and she's have alot of unhappy fans. Its just like The Hunger Games series, why put Katniss and Peeta in a competition and not have them both win? It would be...pointless. Its also like movies, the main character always wins if there in a competition, occasionally they dont. And I agree with all the other things you said!
Team Maxon all the way ,but only because I hate Aspen's guts. Cuz' in truth I really don't think America deserves Maxon. So I'm kind of glad he has a thing for Kriss.

See I think that would be good for Lucy with Aspen. There was some sort of argument between the girls and them letting Lucy be happy with a man. Or something like that, but I'm not 100% sure it's her. Wonder if there is a man already there. A new one, not the one she left behind.
Remind me who Lucy is? She is someone other than America, I suppose, so I agree she will be good for Aspen. I agree, Cindy, the whole series is really pointless if America doesn't win the Selection. I also agree on the idea "Why would she enter the Selection, why write this series, if America wouldn't win?". The question makes sense to me. Do you agree?

haha Lucy's one of the maids. I agree its senseless and pointless for her to not win. Elizabeth...I dont really hate Aspens guts, I just like Maxton better. I think itd be cool if Lucy got together with Aspen, everything would be fine if that happended instead, Itd be like a twist to the story.
the thing is that Kiera most probably wants a twist like lets say Maxon chooses Kriss and America is all depressed and realises that she realy wants him but goes back to Aspen but Aspen doesnt want her because he likes Lucy now or something like that. she cant end the book where it ends with out any hardships cant be smooth sailing if you know what i mean
But if this woman ends this book with no specific choice I will burn my book. Well figuratively anyway. I doubt it bc that interview someone spoke about made it seem like America would end up with someone. But I do feel like the author loves Aspen and she'll make him have a nice ever after or die heroically and save the kingdom.

I feel like Celeste would be a way to obvious character to hurt, what about Kriss, (I would've said the Asian girl, but she Asian so it's so off limits)
